Thank you Ray. I have some lovely shop-bought Sims carnations in a delicate apricot colour that I would love to grow however they don't have any side shoots, just tiny new growth peeping out at some nodes. I'm still going to give your methods a try and keep my fingers and toes crossed ☺ Cheers, Yvette, Australia 👍

Can we take these bouquet cuttings during any month of the year? Or do we have to wait until the summer - or any particular month?

Thank you for sharing this with us, I have grown them from seed, But they died the following Spring because of to much rain. They rotted in the ground.

That's a shame. At least there cheap enough to start from seed Cheers Ray

Hi ray hope you and the family are well.
Do you ever use rooting hormone powder or the gell.
I use the powder and find that you tend to get better cutting take rate.
Great vid and all the best.

    Hi Ray
I have grown my carnations from seed.
I will try to take some cuttings from them to see how they go.
By the way how is your poinsettia doing.
The one I saved from last year is now like a small bush and still growing.
    Keep your videos coming
    Stay safe mate

I planted some cutting for the 1st time ever,i put a little slit at the end of every cutting and then dipped in some pitting powder then straight into the compost, left 2-3 weeks then went to repot but there were no roots .
Quite disappointed as not sure what i done wrong🤷‍♀️
