Valeska Steiner and Sonja Glass, from Germany and Switzerland, had a very strong start with their first album « Mutual Friends ». An intense voice and two beautiful guitars make the very unique sound of BOY. We met again the two artists and a new guitarist at Le Perchoir, on a huge rooftop, under a radiant sun.
Everything was there to deliver you a perfect session!
Their second album is about to be released on October the 16th !

It's a pretty good pick for an open air recording actually.
The screens would block any noise coming from the streets below, and some of the wind.
The guitars have internal microphones, so no worries there.
And my guess is the microphone Valeska is wearing is a type specifically designed to filter out unwanted background noise as much as possible. Because while it's mostly a clean sound, there are a few instances where you can hear wind and other noises in the recording.

Honestly, no where near a fan or have any likes to New York. Personally I think it's a disgusting and overinflated province filled with evil. This song is lovely though, I can easily change the lyrics
The meaning of the song is that their base of Hamburg is the only NY they need. NY is a metaphor. It is really about their friendship.
