This is the real thing folks. Being an old guy, the greats of the past are either in their grave or headed there. Grace Bowers is someone who will carry this music on when we are gone.
Yes, and if you don't feel she is "there" yet, she's doing the right thing: playing live shows just fine at 17, like all the greats. Another thing is they've put together an excellent band that can clearly go on to a greater variety of pieces. The intro by Prince was just as excellent.
@@pcatful she sounds great, I just wasn’t sure who you were talking about with the kid comment. This is the first video of Grace Ive watched all the way through, she has chops for sure. Very tasty phrasing and great feel.
So true... I haven't heard anyone play with such feelings and talent in a really long time. I just heard her play scuttle button from Stevie Ray Vaughn. She is just phenomenal, and puts tears in my eyes. Trying to write this.
@@peace-yo4no you are absolutely right with your statement, if you played this for a room full of seasoned guitarists site unseen and then asked them “who’s playing this tune”? not one of them would say, oh that must be some young 17 or 18 year old girl who’s only been playin for 4 yrs.
Man, o, man. This band just keeps getting better. Y’all keep it going. I hope you get to tour out to the Bay Area. I’d travel a hundred miles to see all of you. You make me want to come to Nashville. Much love from the left coast.
BIG Tribute to SRV 🙏, BIG Applause to Gracie 👏, and least we forget the drummer 🥁👍Whoops, Wrong Video was meant for "Lenny/Scuttle Button")But there's nothing like "Red House", I saw Jimi perform that song four times 'live' and can't wait to see Grace perform it 'live' someday. 👍(Another Big Applause to the late Gary Moore, another Great "Red House" Alumni, Saw him play it with Mayall🎸)
Legend in the making im serious not even joking and in a time where men are inciting hatred towards young women half their age its great a young woman comes along and blows the roof off in the guitar world and she is. Ive been playing 30 years and shes much much better than i. Were all in our bedrooms fellas shes doing it and shes been playing a very short time.
It's obvious he is a jimi-inspired guitarist...that solo, the tone, the hair, oversized headstock right-handed guitar but played left-handed. Great audio recording btw. Thks. 👍
@@solvenet - OK, rewatched and saw him mostly out of view blocked by drums. I was focused on Grace so did not notice him first 25 seconds. He had the Hendrix look.
my favorite thing about Grace, is she is 17 playing an instrument from early 60's. its sharing all of its pain and miles with Grace and she is connecting and sharing it with us. Sensational player.
Woe. SG-woman, reversed-Fender man..start a new band. This was wild. Get large Marshall stacks, turn them up, give the people reflection on their life-pains, then burn the whole thing down..make those guitars SCREAM! ..Love y'all.
@@MortandHarley - Do you even play? I bet you’re nowhere near as good as grace! Bet you’re just a sad, lonely, tone deaf troll. 😛 real musicians encourage others, not insult them by telling them they need lessons. You post a video playing, I dare you!!!
Who is the left-handed young man playing the upside-down Fender Stratocaster like Jimi Hendrix? He played the intro to the song. He sounds great and reminded me so much of Jimi. He has the Hendrix look too. I want to hear more of this guy.
I COULD USE SOME HELP FROM A BONA FIDE GUITARIST. I don't play guitar and I am right-handed. I do understand that left-handed people don't just take a right-handed guitar and string it as a left-handed guitar; that everything needs to be reversed at the build level including the headstock and the angles of the pickups. What I think I remember hearing (my memory is going) is that Jimmy Hendrix actually DID just take a right-handed guitar and string it as a left-handed guitar, and the fact that the angles of the pickups were then reverse of what they should have been for a left-handed guitar gave him that unique "Jimmy Hendrix Sound." Can someone please elaborate on this? Thanks in advance. I won't live long enough to see Grace's trajectory through the music industry, but if anyone's rocket can make it all the way to Venus, it's hers.

Ooooh, that was kick ass 👍🎸🙏

Grace is absolutely AWESOME!!!!!!!
That young man with the Strat sure got me in the feels. Well done everybody!!
She's a young Lady😃
@@peterk7734 I think he's talking about Prince Parker, the other guitarist in the band (who's playing the Strat)
Grace is playing a Gibson! 😉

I love what the bass player is doing to support this song

Great band!! Getting better and better!!
It's nice that Grace has hired a real vocalist for her band. Too many bands have lead singing guitarists who can't sing

Great band! Smooth riffs, Prince!
Enjoy watching this band in a small venue. They're just getting going. They will be playing to much bigger crowds soon. Very talented band all around.
I love Grace, I found her streaming live on Reddit during Covid lockdown. This is outstanding. I thought the vocals were Kanika Moore @ 1st

She's got a blend of Bloomfield and Derek Trucks going on in this one. Great dynamics.
D from your position…So Great. I’ll make it to that fest some day❤
I think the guy in the back should be out in front! He sounded like Hendrix!!
That was a great intro. Smooth!
He's playing an right handed Strat left handed like Jimi, I'm sure that's his inspiration.
The guy in the back plays like Hendrix, she plays like herself. That's why she plays up front

She's always been excellent but her tone and her approach to her guitar have been steadily improving as I've followed her.
Why I like Grace, not sure about her solo for RED HOUSE……
Kinda sad. She should focus more on playing and less on fiddling with her knobs
The other guy needs to be taking the leads. Grace needs some real guitar lessons.....
