The black interior of Staub cookware is a special black enamel that has ground quartz incorporated into it for added durability and great browning. You don't have to worry that there is any raw cast iron exposed anywhere on the pot or lid.
Is this the 3.7 litre pot or the 5.25 litre? Looks like the little one. This size can be awkward, fills to the top for a family meal. My personal minimum is the 4.5 litre ( one gallon) size. And larger. The workhorse in this house is a 7 litre leCreuset. If you are going to spend the money these high end pots cost, really get the size right for your cooking world. Or you will be back buying another size. They are all terrific kitchenware but size matters.

Thank you. Love that you shared this! It's a beautiful piece of cookware. It's so pretty I don't want to use it a lot of the time 😂
Just the rim is raw cast iron
No, the rim is not raw cast iron. There is no exposed raw cast iron at all.

Hi Max - Finally checked the box and it says 3.8 litre / 5 quarts. Great advice but can there ever be to many in the kitchen? LOL
@@WhyYesPlease congratulations on a terrific addition. I cannot live without my “cast iron farm” as my wife calls it (7 of them)
Looks like 5 quarts
mmmm.
