I remember working in a game store and having stacks of SMB/DH which we sold for roughly a quarter a piece. Not that it doesn't deserve to be saved, that's just how common they were at one point. An amazing deal for a couple of the most iconic games of the generation! Happy New Year Vince & anyone else reading :)
I'd love to see you do either a Master System console or a game. I love learning about the Master System, and I don't think I've ever seen the system or a game taken apart. I never had it as a child so I still have that mysterious fascination with it. Great fix!
Another great fix. Keeping those classic games going 😁 Just a heads up, if you pick up a 405nm laser for about £4 from ebay it will cure the solder mask in about 10 seconds. Any colour will do the trick but it's not actually tje UV which cures the mask, but the wavelength of the UV torch 😁
Vince, pleased to see that you found the Garryflex block useful. Remember that you can also slice off small, thin segments for use on any tight spaces. Nice repair BTW!
Do they do finer grits than 600 in them? I am thinking for really badly scratched watch crystals and cases or bracelets these are going to be a godsend but I likes to finish off with a 2000+ before going at it with me brown gunge and dremel mop. Just snagged a coarse, medium coarse and a 320 and 600 but couldn't see anything more than 600 sadly.
Another awesome fix, but please don't use an automatic drill on these screws that run into plastic. It's so incredibly easy to strip the plastic. Best to go at it by hand, and turn left first to make it drop into the existing groove. All the best, Vince!
Noice. Your videos are addictive. I love fixing stuff but, I watch your videos for your spectacular fault finding. I need to get me a multi meter so I can fault find Circuit boards like you. lol
I definitely enjoy these repair videos. There's another youtuber I watch (more for his other videos) who doesn't go as far as you do and as a result fails to fix a good chunk of his NES carts. The bad rom fix in one of the Megadrive videos was brilliant.
Great stuff =D I had to go get tea and biscuits for this one =D Seems to be a common issue the plastic rubbing on the PCB there =/ Happy New Year tomorrow!
Nice fix! You missed the 1UP free man mushroom!! lol. I forget where everything is. Recently loaded it onto my switch light and haven't really played since 1990....
Awesome work yet again.. Btw I have an original xbox v1.2 with a solid orange light, any ideas whats wrong with it. Unable to find alot of info on youtube or forums. Thank you for making 2020 a little better. Happy new year to u, fam and friends
Hey Vince, just a quick reminder - Most circuit boards are translucent, while the traces are opaque... I believe you had mentioned that your son has a tracing table/light box you can use to test out the theory that broken traces can be observed visually (you may also be able to determine that a trace is in need of reinforcement using this method).
Pencil eraser is the safest thing to clean contacts with I find. That rubber seemed a bit too abrasive using it once on a game probably isn't a big deal but multiple uses would start to wear away too much (similar to Brasso). The eraser just gently buffs it then you just have to make sure you get rid of the bits before cleaning with IPA.
Hello, you don't have to scrape the enamel wire, the heat from the iron should remove the coating when soldering/ tinning them. Thanks for the video !!!
Not sure how it looks to you in person, but on video afterwards..That Garryflex Block looks horrible what it left at the 10:40 & 11:11 mark..You can see the streak marks it left..
There is a ps3 devkit on eBay that is broken. You should try to replace the caps and get it running to see if there is any unreleased games or info on it.
Looking at that gray screen reminds me of my NES. My NES is quite odd, because if you push down on the cart like you normally do, it will give you that gray screen, but if you put the cart as is, it will boot without issues. Perhaps the previous owner that I got it from refurbished the cart connector? Also, nice fix!
Great fix but one problem the nes zapper doesn't work with led screen unless you mod the zapper let's see if you can do a mod on your channel I used to play this game for hours when I was younger.
You should try repairing TI-83 series calculators. They often have easy faults (screen cable and battery corrosion) that would make a good video for the many people who have similar problems.
Fantastic have you ever had snes game that load but just dont play right I have 2 of the Donkey Kong country games not sure of the number of them thinking 2 and 3

Thank you! This one is nice because for ones i know what the small chip dose. It is the one that confirms that it is a official nes game. If you wanna play homebrew you need a doner card with one of those chips to make the console accept the game. Happy new year!
Hey Vince, I think that you should start a Discord channel, I'd love to join and I'm guessing a ton of your viewers would love to too! I think it will also be a good way to interact with you and others :)
I'll have my rum and coke then please!, thank you vince! :D *EDIT* Vince didn't come with my rum and coke as ordered, what an SHAME!, sorry mate, couldn't resist :D

Just love these quick fixes :). If I may say so, they're just the "fix" I need in between the big "trying to fix" videos. Good job Vince!

What are you doing on New Years Eve?
I'm watching a video of a bloke trying to fix an NES cart.
Hardcore!
Best New Year’s Eve EVER!!! Obviously 🥂
You're in good company my friend.
@Mymatevince
You're suspiciously lucky to get those broken pads so often.
Maybe he *intentionally causes* that :D
Well, what ELSE could be wrong with an old school game cart?
Excellent work, looking forward to many more in the new year, hope you've had a great Christmas and a happy new year Vince :)
Happy New Year Vince!
awesome fix! that was my very first video game ever. mario/duckhunt. it came with the NES my brother and I got for christmas back in the day.

Great video as usual. Have a happy new year Vince!
Awesome tea time fix learnt something new today thanks Vince
That was really useful Vince. Great job.
I did not expect to get chills at the end. Nostalgia. Thanks MMV.
Happy New Year Vince! Good fix.

Would one of those conductive ink pens work well, or be a little easier easier for these cartridge fixes?
it would be easier but would not last long.
it happens to gameboy games too! Im wondering if its dirt / dust and the game moving in the case slightly causes it to break
So inspiring, opened my 90s non-working cartridge and will try to fix it tomorrow :)

Would you be willing to do a video about the common tools you use - Solder, iron etc...
Happy new year boi

I would love to drink anything but due to lock down our liquor store ( all booze) are closed , great Fix
Beautiful repair. :)
What type of drill bit do you need to remove the screws in the cartridge?

vince doesnt use ipa much🤣🤣🤣
did you try blowing in the cart? xD
You can also use emery foam blocks for finger nails to have an abrasive block. Cheap as chips at the shops too.
happy new year 💝🎉 brother
Nice. YT just recommended me this channel.
Hello, you don't have to scrape the enamel wire, the heat from the iron should remove the coating when soldering/ tinning them. Thanks for the video !!!
A LIVING ROBOT. THANK YOU FOR THE HELPFUL VLOG
I would suggest putting some tape over the part where the plastic squeezes the circuit. It should prevent more damage along the way.
Right, that's my other YT video being paused and time to watch MMV :-)
Nice one, Happy New Mate.

Can you please do a tutorial on how to connect the joy cons to the wii u

Hi I have the same game that’s having the same issue, would I be able to mail it to you to have it fixed?
Great repair. Well explained.
Great videos keep up the good work.
Great fix! Try some GameBoy carts or GameGear I fix those a lot myself last game i fixed was Antz for the GBC lol
Why don't you use conductive paint? Really quick and easy repair.
Hey Vince, I haven't finished the video yet but if you don't end up fixing it, try some windex on q tip. Best of luck dude
Thank you so much for that video, i wish you a good slide in the next Year.
Found my nes and the games are SUPER HARD to get out! What do I do?

Yo link to the wire and black stuff you used?

Hi Vince, could I send you a Tesco Hudl 2? I think it could make a great video. Does not switch on, don’t know what’s wrong with it.
Dave.
To clean the contacts just use an erasor for pen ink, its cheap and works great 😁
Always a pleasure.
Hey someone here with Felix the cat game? In trying to fix it, can someone tell me where does the front pin 2 connects to?

Have you checked Tronicfix video, where he uses a pen for the wire? @My Mate Vince
i see all pad wii be broken in futures , plastics case damage the board
corrosion from years of kids blowing moisture into the pins?
How did you know my coffee cup was empty!?!?
A few years ago, that would have been a major fix for you
But if you scrape the gold from the copper of the contacts with that rubbericed sandpaper then it will corrode!
I enjoyed this!

for some body that never lays claim to being a professional you fix quite a BIT OF ELECTRONICS
