No hate to the others but Rosé's voice doesn't sound like a normal female kpop idol singer. U can easily point out her voice and her style of singing from the rest. Since she grew up in NZ and Australia I think she was heavily influenced by western artists so as a result her style of singing is very different from the rest . She doesn't need to belt high notes to impress others coz she has this unique and emotional tone which takes u on to a journey. Of course she said that taeyang was her inspiration too but I think taeyang's influence was when she came to train in YG but before that all her childhood was listening to songs from western artists like Tori Kelly,Leona Lewis etc.Also She often covers English songs and rarely cover korean songs. I think She could literally go solo in US and become big as a solo artist.
Actually all Blackpink members doesn't sound like a normal kpop female idol. They are unique within each other and unique in music industry; that is why the are successful.

Having good technique is very helpful cause it increases your versatility, and can make your performance even more captivating b/c you can add all sorts of dynamics, and change up your style and who doesn't love good riffs and runs, yeah good agility will get you there. There's a so much you can do when you have a developed technique, so there's no need to shit on "technique". That just means that she may not have the best technique, but at least her vocal tone is her edge among the mentioned K-Pop Main Vocalists. I'm a singer too, and I feel like it's easier to learn proper techniques than to develop a unique vocal tone in which Rosé did during trainee days. Unique vocal tone in which every people can recognize you even if you sing only one syllable. According to Justin, having a unique vocal tone is really important in the job as a singer. Especially if you're a singer that every people are able to watch in television, 'cause it will serve as your "signature style". Just like what BTOB's Eunkwang said to Rosé in KOMS that there's no other K-Pop female idol that sings like her. Even DAY6's Jae said that he never heard a vocal tone like Rosé even before. He's implying that Rosé is only one who have a vocal tone like that. Even Eric Nam and BIGBANG's Taeyang and G-Dragon who favored Rosé's vocal tone a lot.

She probably doesn't know the song so well so she picked some sentence to harmonize over and was scared of ruining it...moreover she has no idea how rose intends to go about it...so she had to be scared not to harmonize in the wrong way...rose have different technique from other singers
The girl harmonizing with Rosé is Lee Suhyun from AKMU an extremely talented brother-sister duo. Highly suggest checking out any of their songs. She was probably hesitant during the harmonizing because this was their first time rehearsing this song and she didn't want to screw it up lol. But Suhyun and her brother are amazing great at harmonizing with each other. Some of the best vocal performances I've heard are Suhyun's
one of the reasons why rosé is literally my favorite kpop idol is just her herself? blackpink themselves are just so different from ‘the usual kpop idol’. especially rosé and jennie because i can see that they have had a lot of western influences when they were younger. from the way they act, to their aesthetics on social media and just their individual interests and tastes (also includes music tastes) they just differ a lot from the usual idol and i think its also one of the things that brings this comfortable human like vibe to blackpink? a lot of idols just seem to be so programmed and do stuff to please their fans but blackpink feels so different compared to any other group. rosé gives off major western artists vibes and this was one of the reasons why i got so happy when yg confirmed her and jennie went to the us to work on music, also considering that both of them are close to a lot of my favorite artists. i have never ever seen one kpop idol who spontaneously goes to the us the hang out with literal celebrities and it doesnt even seem weird to me? it just gives adds character to them and they give off normal artist vibes unlike the normal kpop idols who arent even allowed to have social media or let other people know which other artists theyre close to.
i also hate when people label jisoo as ‘the most korean’ yes jisoo has had the most korean influences out of all members but still jisoo differs so much compared to other fully korean kpop idols? jisoo music taste is mainly alternative, her aesthetics and individual personality and tastes also just seem to be her and not anything programmed or she is lying about. the girl has individuality and tastes and i think even she fluent in english she would make dozens of friends within the western music industry too. jisoo is just so mature and overall a person anyone looks up. its like she walks into a room and seems to known anything about everything and just gives off that ‘wise friend’ vibe? if she was in korean girl group i think jisoo would still stand out the most within western audiences because she has individuality and also doesnt fit the ‘usual idol standards’ even tho she is fully korean.
i also consider lisa to be the most korean member out of all ones because it just seems to be like she fully hasnt shown off herself yet and due to her being a trainee and racism it lead to her just making anything to please fans and fit into korean culture instead of showing off her real sides and interests except for dancing and listening to hip hop.
i also always wondered why people like me who really dislike the industry, the way is lacks individuality and would never give even give kpop a chance to grown on me seem to be obsessing over blackpink? it all makes sense now just looking at the group and their overall individuality and artistry. i also seem to realize that blackpink have this natural ‘bad bitch’ like aura on stage? just watch their performances like coachella or the so hot dvd and you’ll see what i mean. they just seem to be so drawn to the audience but in a way like they arent even trying and bring it off naturally. a lot of people seem to dislike their stage presence but to me they just seem so natural in those. i will never get how people will dislike particular members and only ‘stan’ one or two out of the groups because they are just one of the few groups with actual individuality and idols who come off as humans and not programmed creatures.
this is why im also scared about yg not giving them another full album or several comebacks a year in their last 2 years as a group together. i just want them to showcase their individual skills in terms of signing, rapping and dancing (like they did last year) but also their individual personalities and represent who they are (like they did in the documentary).

Whenever I listen this cover, I'm reminded of what Jennie said in LUTS about how Rosie taught them how music was supposed to sound like. The cover was another perfect example of that. That was music. 🖤
She really stands out, not just like another artist who sings through her emotions(she said in an interview she didn't want to be that) but as an artist with a very unique tone which comforts you and makes you feel what she wants to express. This performance was her at the rehersal for The Show Sea of Hope. This was ep. 1 she will be in ep. 3 at the actual Sea Side bar and grill the show put up. I do not know if this will be the song she sings or if she will do another cause they used Her song from R to cover up the preview of the episode at the end of ep. 2.
Finally, i'm waiting for this reaction. She's sound amazing and so clean in this performance, she didnt over do it but enough to make us want more and more.
I have a few favorite voices around the world, across the different genres, some of them: greek pop singer Nana Mouskouri (singing in French), Tenor Luciano Pavarotti, soprano Gundula Janowitz, Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, and Willie Nelson. After much consideration, I must say none of them possess this quality that Rose of BlackPink has when she sings: the ability to "channel her soul" in her voice. I cannot explain that statement. I mean, somehow she bares her soul to the world when she sings. I mean, when she sings a song, she tells a story, a story that she fully absorbs, absorbs it to her soul, and turns around tells the story and how it affects her soul. I probably in that babbling. Rose, when she sings, reaches for my soul. Rose has a uniquely marvellous singer who has no equal.

The girl who joined rose and harmonized is Suhyun, from AKMU. Also, I don't think she was scared to harmonize, she kinda has a habit of squinting her eyes when singing higher notes.
At first I couldn’t pinpoint who she reminded me of, and then I realised that she sounded like a young Norah Jones similar emotional style and groove. The Aussie comes out with the almost lazy intonation, but Aussie’s tend to shorten words and sounds. Love this song and your input in all your videos.🐨🐨💕💕🇦🇺

This is by far my favorite cover Rosé' has done she just makes you want to close you eyes and feel each and every word she sings. one of the reasons why rosé is literally my favorite kpop idol is just her herself? blackpink themselves are just so different from ‘the usual kpop idol’. especially rosé and jennie because i can see that they have had a lot of western influences when they were younger. from the way they act, to their aesthetics on social media and just their individual interests and tastes (also includes music tastes) they just differ a lot from the usual idol and i think its also one of the things that brings this comfortable human like vibe to blackpink? a lot of idols just seem to be so programmed and do stuff to please their fans but blackpink feels so different compared to any other group. rosé gives off major western artists vibes and this was one of the reasons why i got so happy when yg confirmed her and jennie went to the us to work on music, also considering that both of them are close to a lot of my favorite artists. i have never ever seen one kpop idol who spontaneously goes to the us the hang out with literal celebrities and it doesnt even seem weird to me? it just gives adds character to them and they give off normal artist vibes unlike the normal kpop idols who arent even allowed to have social media or let other people know which other artists theyre close to.
i also hate when people label jisoo as ‘the most korean’ yes jisoo has had the most korean influences out of all members but still jisoo differs so much compared to other fully korean kpop idols? jisoo music taste is mainly alternative, her aesthetics and individual personality and tastes also just seem to be her and not anything programmed or she is lying about. the girl has individuality and tastes and i think even she fluent in english she would make dozens of friends within the western music industry too. jisoo is just so mature and overall a person anyone looks up. its like she walks into a room and seems to known anything about everything and just gives off that ‘wise friend’ vibe? if she was in korean girl group i think jisoo would still stand out the most within western audiences because she has individuality and also doesnt fit the ‘usual idol standards’ even tho she is fully korean.
i also consider lisa to be the most korean member out of all ones because it just seems to be like she fully hasnt shown off herself yet and due to her being a trainee and racism it lead to her just making anything to please fans and fit into korean culture instead of showing off her real sides and interests except for dancing and listening to hip hop.
i also always wondered why people like me who really dislike the industry, the way is lacks individuality and would never give even give kpop a chance to grown on me seem to be obsessing over blackpink? it all makes sense now just looking at the group and their overall individuality and artistry. i also seem to realize that blackpink have this natural ‘bad bitch’ like aura on stage? just watch their performances like coachella or the so hot dvd and you’ll see what i mean. they just seem to be so drawn to the audience but in a way like they arent even trying and bring it off naturally. a lot of people seem to dislike their stage presence but to me they just seem so natural in those. i will never get how people will dislike particular members and only ‘stan’ one or two out of the groups because they are just one of the few groups with actual individuality and idols who come off as humans and not programmed creatures.
this is why im also scared about yg not giving them another full album or several comebacks a year in their last 2 years as a group together. i just want them to showcase their individual skills in terms of signing, rapping and dancing (like they did last year) but also their individual personalities and represent who they are (like they did in the documentary).

This is by far my favorite cover Rosé' has done she just makes you want to close you eyes and feel each and every word she sings. You can clearly hear her Aussie twang especially when she sings English songs and growing up in NZ and Australia she really has had a influence by western artists and has incorporated that with her own singing voice which her a vibrant and unique vocal tone.
