I've loved him all my life (64 years of them!) But the very best night of my life, was when I spent about 2 hours with him (with only the stars of the show that night) after Live at Her Majesty's theatre 22nd April 1984.
He was THE most beautiful inside and out, sweetest, engaging, genuine 'star' I've ever met - that evening had a massive impact on me.
What an absolute honour Sir - Heaven must've really lit up when he arrived
    God Bless you Dan 😘

I was a chorus. boy in the Casino de Paris in 1962. The chorus boys here remind me so much of those days. I can imagine their lives, I believe. What fun that kind of job was at that age -- plenty of time and energy for the clubs after work.

I just started seeing and learning of Danny La Rue. So sorry for the end of his life and the painful part of it. But I personally love him. So awesome. May he find peace with God. And may he be entertaining all the Angel's in the heavens above. 🥰💋💗💗💗💗

Brought back great memories. Danny showing why he was such a big star. At this time he was appearing at the Coventry Theatre and sold out for the entire 8 week run. A big thank you for uploading this and the Her Majesty's clip. I wonder if anyone has got his 1978 Royal Variety appearance anywhere?!

Such a great entertainer but with a sad ending. Lost all his properties and money after signing over Walton Hall to a couple of freaudsters. Always read what you sign. RIP Danny.

He said on the Late Late Show that he used to go to 14 masses per week. 2 a day. Was that true? Musta been very religious. Good guy Danny

I don't see what all the fuss is about - I wasn't that impressed, except with his costumes and wigs.

One: It was 1972. Two: You aren't sitting in the audience. Theater performers are meant to be seen live and in their own era.
