    The Quest 3 Battery Strap from AUBIKA is a very comfortable head strap for the Quest 3. Its 8000 mAh battery is much larger than the battery in their Quest 2 head strap, yet it doesn't make the strap any bulkier. The rear weighs approx. 346g on its own, and attached to the Quest 3, its total weight is 841g. It offers a great amount of counterbalance, maybe not a complete weight trade-off with the Quest 3 headset (which is around 500g on its own), so there is some front drop when the strap is fully loose on my head.
    It has a nice comfy top strap, that is well padded, making it perfect and comfortable for long play sessions. I would have liked to see a similar padding to the rear pad, but a VR Cover rear pad for the Quest 2 will fill that omission.
    As for its 8000 mAh battery performance, there is no buzzing from the battery, which is a common fault on the official Meta Elite Battery Strap. So that's a bonus. With 20W of output, it does charge the Quest 3 without the headset draining its own battery first, during play, which many early-released battery straps seem to struggle with. Charging the battery back from a 30W wall charger and the official Quest 3 charging cable took approx. 50 minutes to 25%, 1 hour 20 minutes to get to 50%, 1 hour 38 minutes to 75% and around 2 hours 10 minutes to 100%.
    Overall, this head strap is one of the best Elite-style straps for the Quest 3 with a battery right now. If you've just picked up a Quest 3 and looking for a head strap, a battery strap is very much recommended, and with many out there not really charging the headset that well, this one from AUBIKA is a welcome accessory for the Quest 3 right now.
    The Quest 3 Carry Case from AUBIKA carries a familiar design to the Quest 3 headset itself, with its three-pill design on the case top and white/grey suede material all around it. Sadly this material will be prone to wearing and it's not going to be that great if it were to get in contact with water either. Fortunately, the black version has a harder-wearing material, but it's a shame the more brand-matching case doesn't have this material.
    Inside AUBIKA has thought about many uses for this case, bundling a removable walled divider, a small removable pad to keep the headset down during travel, a velcro-attached pouch, and an accessory sleeve attached inside the inner lid of the case.
    With all these features you'll have plenty of choice fitting headset, controllers and a number of accessories in this case. I couldn't test a Quest 3 fitted with a halo strap, but I am sure it will fit just fine. Elite straps will not have a problem fitting and it's so big that you could fit two soft strap Quest 3s in this case too.
    If you plan on taking the Quest 3 out of your home and travel to friends and family, putting it in a case like this will keep the headset and its controllers and accessories fully protected. The one downside of its style is that it does advertise there maybe a Quest 3 inside, so keep it close by and don't let it out of your sight if you do venture outside with this case.

    Just had some time with Cookie Run and the Aubika and discovered an issue where the Quest 3 wouldn’t take the battery charge when it’s at 0-1%. It would just charge for a second and then turn off. I had to charge via wall adapter and cable to 2% and then swapped to the Aubika battery and THEN it would charge and keep the Q3 charging whilst I was using it no problem.
    From 100% battery on the strap it was down to 50% after around an hour and the Q3 has only charged to around 9%. I thought that was a bit odd.

    • @OQPlay
      @OQPlay  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@ChristianLinzatti I would hold out personally and maybe wait until bobo updates their batteries to be more compatible with the Quest 3. I think unless there is equal weight at the back to counterbalance the headset front weight more, these elite straps will continue to give me forehead pressure that I got in the hour I had with cookie run, which isn’t an intense game.
      A think a halo strap will be much better, but I’ve yet to try a halo on my Q3 to see if it improves or make front forehead pressure worse 🤔

      @@ChristianLinzattieven bobo VR currently has the same issue, atm the M3 they are selling still ships with the M2 battery so its not got enough wattage rating nor can do 9v or 12v which the quest 3 needs, just buy a non battery back strap and buy something like the INIU 45w 15,000mAH battery bank, it can do both 9v and 12v and should provide the maximum 30w that quest 3 is known to use during AR use (if you use AR) might be cumbersome to put a battery bank this large on the quest 3 but till someone does an actual 30w PD 9v minimum battery pack then non will be enough

      @OQPlay  7 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Ron, thanks for watching and for your kind comments. I hope you enjoy the strap. You can use it a number of ways. The best would be to start the battery top once the headset is down to around 20% from being fully charged. Stop in when Quest gets to 80%. That way you’re not putting too much stress on the battery inside the the headset.
      Charging it back up with something more than 18W will reduce the charging time a little. I got around 2hrs recharge time with a 30W wall charger.

    • @OQPlay
      @OQPlay  7 месяцев назад +2

      The Syntech is basically the same case I reviewed for the Q2. So I’d say the Aubika is better as it doesn’t have the centre plastic in the middle, inside, so you have more freedom to place things and the sleeve and the Velcro bag in the Aubika is more handy to have and protect your gear inside.

    Thanks for the review. Personally I find the original Quest 3 head strap ok so far. I had issues with the comfort at the back of third party and elite straps on the Q2 and 1. I velcrowed a really cheap £13 powerbank to the back and that seems to improve both comfort and gives well over an of extra battery on the 3. Also, seeing the cases on Amazon I originally loved the look of them. They don’t seem practical at all though. Will stick with my existing ones and save some dough. Cheers.

      I’m not sure about battery noise. But kiwi doesn’t have this issue. They are both different style of straps. If you do fast action or fitness where your head is turning often and fast then an elite strap (kiwi) may be better for you. The bobo may feel more comfortable as the weight is shifted off your cheekbones and front of your face a little better but there is more side wobble in fast turning games.
      Hope this helps. I hope to pickup the M3 Pro kit or New S3 at some point.

    The problem with the batteries for Quest 3 is that output wattage is too low. They need to be 18 watts for Quest 3. Most of the 3rd party battery straps for Quest 3 are using the Quest 2 standard, which is only 5 watts. Basically, the batteries have the power, and the headset is trying to draw the power, but the batteries can not push it to the headset at the higher wattage. So, the headset can drain it's own battery quicker than it can draw power from the external battery.
    Better to wait until they solve this.

    • @OQPlay
      @OQPlay  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yup, it’s very wise to wait until we see more straps fix this issue.

    • @123TheCloop

      its more than 18w, go buy a usb power tester and check it yourself, on average its pulling 22w in normal use and around 27w in AR use on either 9v or 12v (not 5v like quest 2) that matters here, unless these battery packs are 9v-12v PD 30w capable then non will keep a quest charged till both batteries run out, your literally better of caving for a proper 15,000 - 20,000 mah+ battery bank that can do proper 12v 30w PD ratings which is what is reliably needed for a quest 3 (if you want wireless pcvr)

      @@OQPlay really???? What, with the quest wall plug also??? Because I plugged it in after about an hour of trying my upmost best to find some info on how to charge it, and I swear after barely 10 mins I could smell burning from either the quest 3 charger block ( which was completely fine when charging yesterday), or From my extension lead....all I DO know...is that the smell really quick went away after I switched the extension lead off at the wall....and now I'm scared Shitless.....plus, to be fair I'm pretty sure its not the cable it should be using, because the rating is completely different, not to mention it should use a orange tipped one....
      I'm just really worried now....the battery pack looks absolutely fine. And it seems to be keeping my quest 3 stable at 89% for almost 3 hours...like, litreally, my headset was draining really quick before, it had gone down 11% from being switched on from.fukly charged, and all id done was playing fur Elise on that virtual piano instructor app, so, knowing that the battery pack comes 75% charged, I decided to switch it on when my headset reached 89%....since then, I've had some fun on the ISS simulator, and played a load of Asgards wrath 2, and it hasn't dropped from 89%....plus the battery pack still has 3/4 lights lit up...I was pleasantly surprised....but now I'm scared as fuck to actually charge the damn pack....

      Maybe use a lower powered wall adapter. Something around 18W should be ok.

    This or the BoboVR M3 Pro?

    • @OQPlay
      @OQPlay  6 месяцев назад +1

      They are like two different species. The bobo will sit on your head differently and create different pressures to an elite style strap that this aubika is. So it’s personal preference. So far I’ve yet to try a strap that counterbalances the Quest 3 weight properly so right now the M3 Pro might be better as this front pressure. But for fitness apps etc the elite style is better for that. Less wobble. I hope to pick up an M3 Pro to really compare the two for a future video (new videos on my other channel @carplaylife)

    Buzzing from the elite strap? No that was the Bobo. The issue with the elite strap is the battery stopped working.

      @@OQPlay source?
      I've never once read an article how the official Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap with Battery is buzzing.
      The official Elite Strap with Battery fails to charge or recharge the headset after a few uses. That's why it was pulled from most marketplaces.
      You need to properly vet your information. You're spreading misinformation.
      There is tons of information on 3rd party straps having the "buzzing" issue.... So can you please share this "press info"?

    • @OQPlay
      @OQPlay  7 месяцев назад +2

      Sorry I am not allowed to share their press release that I was given. Their strap doesn’t buzz though. I’ve been asked to review the exact same strap as the Aubika, so there are many just like the strap from other third party’s sellers under different brand names. Whether it’s the same tech in the box as the Aubika? I don’t know. But I’m not going to review the exact same strap 3x over. 😂🤦🏻
      TBH I didn’t hear this myself either or read much about it other than it’s battery not sufficiently charging the headset well enough. I didn’t have one either to check myself so trusted their findings from their press material. Meta has since stopped sellers from supplying/selling their elite battery strap until they fix the issue/s they have with them. Hopefully when it’s back all the issues will be fixed. Still, the official strap isn’t the best option out there.

      @2Guys1ControllerShow "press material" .. this is something that's not handed out to the public, it's usually information and promotional material handed out to members of the press, or in the case of tech companies, reviewers, who are usually under an NDA regarding the contents of that material other than promotional images allowed for display during any review videos.

    • @NSNorse
      @NSNorse 5 месяцев назад

      @2Guys1ControllerShow You may have been thinking of the phrase "press release", which is usually when NDAs are lifted and the contents of any press materials are released to the public, if any are so chosen. Often times, stuff is given to the reviewers and it's used, other times you're provided info and it's never released, so it stays tucked away in your "never talk about" pile.

    What wattage charger do I need to charge this, anyone?

      18W at least. Go for 30W though

    There is definitely something wrong with charging the oculus and aukiba together. You should be testing this before the review. This the power function is by far the most important part of this product.

      I mentioned this in my pinned comment. It couldn’t charge when Q3 was at 0% but it could at 1% after that I found it charged fine.

    This product is garbage. Don’t believe the reviewer who probably got some kind of compensation. The battery allows the headset to drain just from wifi use. Not even gaming.
