Found these tunes in Iain Fraser's book. Went looking for other examples and found your video. I appreciate the speed you chose for both tunes. I especially enjoy the room you have made for ornamentation and nuance in Callum Breugach. Thank you to you both.
This feels very scenic to me... or maybe that's just the desire to go beyond my own backyard right now. Either way, thank you for the stroll through your gorgeous musical landscape!
Absolutely beautiful!! I found you two on RUclips and I can't stop listening to you. You both play beautifully! Only wish one day I can play my violin like you!
Enjoyed the slower approach to Callum Breugach. It's usually played by the Cape Breton folks these days, and they take it at a fair lick. Nothing wrong with that, but this is refreshing...
Lovely tunes, played as tastefully as always by you two. I looked up the meaning of breugach in Gaelic (not being a speaker): it translates as lying or deceiving! So Callum's name is blackened for ever---there must be a story behind that. It seems strange for such a beautiful tune. Thanks for bringing it to life.
Thanks! We are using 4 mics in total; 2 cardioids - one on each instrument - and 2 omnis to pick up the sound of the room. You can find all of our equipment in the description box of each video, for further information.
These are just perfect. Love the sedate pace. I'm going to have a wee shot at these myself tonight. 🎶🎵
Pure class

This is just lovely, and Sebastian's support is so delicate and nuanced. Really inspiring.
Thank you zarthsan, the guitar is very fitting to the tunes here 🙂
Brilliant and beautiful! Life is always better with a Strathspey or two 😀
Absolutely, Jim!

Yes you're right, it really lets you imagine a beautiful landscape somewhere in the world, perhaps the Scottish Highlands!
Perfect!

Cheers Louise, all the best with your playing!!

Certainly a different aura to the tune when played slow.

Intruiging meaning. Puts a new spin on the tune, eh? Many thanks.

great tone atmosphere y’all, are you both going into the one mic there placed in front of guitar ? 🌺
