I am so hooked on Mixcraft now...from all the years of abuse from using another DAW and trying to figure out the 10,001 tech errors and no tech support, I am hooked on Mixcraft! These videos are the best I have seen on any DAW website! Mixcraft 9 pro is not only great for beginners...it's excellent for the more advanced as well!
This video was so very helpful!! Well, all these videos are helpful. :-) I'm glad that editing to the note time value was a point of interest in this video. I never really knew which note value to select when quantizing!! Thank you!
If you don't have a MIDI instrument, you can still make music with the Piano Roll editor simply by selecting the track and going into Sound->Add Instrument Clip.
The quantize part always gets me...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...not the DAW's fault, it's probably just the way I play? but on Mixcraft I can play and understand it a LOT better!
Quantize function is going to be used by your knowledge about music theory. Quantize won't perform good if you play only 8th notes and quantizing them after by 16th resolution for example. To know how your DAW is playing those notes, put The Snap to One bar, create 1 bar long (depending on Time signature) midi clip, press L and start drawing different types of notes. This way, you Will understand how to play notes via midi keyboard and how to benefit from Quantize function. Also, Mixcraft has auto Quantize too!
@@LittleBoyD experience I think you describe well, I'd say just quantise in stages and simplify the whole thing, play each drum seperatly or in pairs and quatise fix it after each pass.
It's probably not either. It's probably, as Cameron alluded to, the quantize setting that you've chosen. Think of your pattern and make sure you pick the smallest note value that you've used. I know from personal experience that, even though I've played drums for years and read music, that I play more complex than I read. Most everyone does.
One thing I haven't been able to do yet is to sync my controller to ProStudio 8. I can play the keyboard functions ok but the pads seeming to be a little trickier. Is there a vid on pairing up something like my Novation LaunchKey 25 with Mixcraft? Thanks.
Hey there! If you're having trouble getting it set up, feel free to reach out to our support at support.acoustica.com and we'd be glad to look into that!
Hey there! If you have the click enabled but there is no output, you might check the 'preview track' volume in the mixer. If that is turned up and no metronome is output, please contact our support at support.acoustica.com and we'd be glad to check into it further for you!

I'm a singer - guitarist and have no Midi instrument or experience. So I cannot use virtual instruments as shown, correct?
How do you use a software synth plugin with the piano roll?
It's treating some midi input notes as keyboard input (hotkeys). Is this a bug or a setting?
I figured it out. There were midi notes set by the MIDI learn button to different track buttons. Not sure why as I never set that up.
This is a quantize tutorial, how do we change parameters on a synth plugin?
what controller are you using with the pads for drums?
It would be really handy to have the possibility to alter the names of the virtual instruments. My VSTi list is getting quite unclear and messy.
We can note that down on the suggestions list!

Hey, Cameron. It's me, Cameron
It's a proper Camception
How do you tune a vst to say 444 instead of 440 , I never get a answer
probably need to use a pitch shifting plugin that can do fine adjustments
I have problem when playing my vst. I can`t hear the metronome. How to fix it so as i can hear the metronome while playing the vst?
