A quick search showed a battle of Old Church near mechanicsville during Grants overland campaign. Old photos are of an inn I guess not a wooden church

They would have had to change the walls to fit those windows in. Any illustrations of the church pre1880s?

It looks like a major 1880s rebuild. The original windows wouldn’t have been gothic.

The cross area is an area for cremated remains- not sure if Saint Francis at its head near the plot of grass means the grassy area is for pet remains?
