In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God so often, Jesus modeled for the disciples - Him giving thanks to the Father He glorified His Father, Honored and Obeyed His Father, Loved His Father - everything He did in showing us the Father, had great meaning - teaching us, so we too might learn the joy they shared
It is important also that we as followers in our church, we as learners, we show appreciation for such like David, and bring them before the Lord in prayer, as often as God brings them to memory. To often out of sight, out of mind, all the more reason for continual fellowship, physically and virtually, remember God doesn't miss a thing, He knows all, He sees all, PRAY WITHOUT CEASING ... for this is the will of God.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE to pray, I never thought that God would call me to be one of the mightiest prayer warriors in the region He’s placed me in but I feel so very blessed that He has. Thank you Pastor David, God bless & many prayers for you all at Enduring Word.❤️🙏🙌
When Jesus prayed in the Garden, nothing was more important to Him than His earnest focus and devotion to Father God and His will. Yes He had human fellowship and that was good, but these could not stay awake, and slept in comfort or distraction, still even though feeling humanly alone, the Father and angels comforted and ministered to Him in a divine fellowship few can recognize or come to know, the great presence of the Royal majestic King. Too often today we not only pray (mumble if that) without focus, without aim, without the passion and desire Jesus showed us. Our prayers often weak and feeble, often fall short by the wayside (not unheard or without note) but are still more focused on self than God, His glory, His will, or a desire to worship the Holy, Holy, Holy One. May we once again, learn to pray with sacred solemn reverence, in reflective solace with meaning, devotion and purpose when we ask the Holy Spirit to help us pray as we ought that we may bring glory to Jesus, that we may please Him.
My 1st pastor a lot like Charles Spurgeon days, back in 1975-76 when our nation was in turmoil at its 200th bi-centennial, and I was finishing up high school, he would call us often to come forward and pray, intercede at the altar with tears and loud groaning for our nation, to come back to God, 2 Chr 7.14, and at the time Jimmy Owens made that song and we did a theatrical play our choir did in remembering God's goodness and blessing to us. That was nearly 50 yrs ago, I never forgot it. Oh would to God, we had today many a bold pastor to call their congregation up to the altar to stay, and pray in the Spirit, for we do not know how to pray, and as a nation we have not only drifted from God, we put on our Nike shoes and like the prodigal ran to the city of whoredom, wine and luxury as fast as our shoes would take us, all but forgetting God and the mention of God nearly silenced completely. May we be bold men and women once again, and hold the burning torch of the gospel high, and Preach the Word. What a great exhortation as David usually does, in a way only he can bring. God bless each man, woman and child who comes to His altars, for He hears, and He will not disappoint. For this is the confidence we have, that if we ask anything according to His name and will, we KNOW for sure (Spirit bears witness w our hearts) He hears and He answers the prayers and petitions we lay at His feet, for His will to be done.
Paul earnestly prayed for his converts for they were his "deposit" - souls saved to the account of Jesus Christ the Eternal Bank of Heaven where even outside the dusty streets are glittering in gold those kind of prayers need to be constant as good shepherds because there can be withdrawals, there can be rejections, and their heavenly bank account can be debited if we neglect to keep feeding and watching over the sheep God gave such teachers a job to do, will they do it? Are they doing it? Comment if you will
Let us come in agreement with God's Word!

We may not see the hands of God move
but when we pray,
they sure do move in ways unbeknown to us
