You should definitely react to "Body Language". When everyone was expecting "Fever 2.0", Kylie put out an avant-garde album. Excellent production with high-quality synthpop arrangements. Another great album is "X".

X is a must. This was her first step in experimenting and working with then unknown producers like Calvin Harris and became the blueprint for electropop for other artists after her like Lady Gaga and Rihanna.

I think the most intriguing and original aspect of your reaction videos is how you view the entire album as a story arc. I think certain artists put more thought into the sequencing of tracks on an album than others. Some may place them in such a way that feels melodically correct, making for a smoother and easier listening experience, while others look to tell a story, with each consecutive song progressing the narrative. Meanwhile, and this may sound cynical, I think a large portion of pop artists are just filling an album with tracks, and the sequence is an afterthought. I especially feel this is the case in the digital age, where people are encouraged to experience music on a track by track basis, as opposed to sitting down to an album in its entirety. To prove my case, I wonder what the average age of your audience is. I think older generations have a greater appreciation for a full length album than say a Gen Z’er. But maybe I’m wrong. Either way, your reaction videos are the bomb and I patiently await the day you upload a Pet Shop Boys reaction. Cheers!

I will not be original here. Fever is by far my favorite Kylie album. I know, she made more creative works but this album is just special to me. I love all 4 singles. Love Affair was a big radio hit in my country. Back then I even thought it was the 5th single. Anyway, my favorite songs are non-singles - Fragile, Fever, More More More and Your Love

So nice to see someome break down Can’t Get You Out of My Head as something more than a fluffy pop song.
Many artists have re-interpreted the song in way more obviously dramatic ways and every time people seem to be blown away with how someone turned the song into something so haunting and powerful.
The reality, is that the darkness is in the source material. The song is and always was dark. It’s a song about obsession taking over. It’s in the repetitive lyrics sounding cold, removed and hypnotized. It’s in her vocal delivery being restrained with momentary, soaring explosions of feeling (in the “set me free” bits) only to be dragged back down to the catchy, monotone “la la la”. It’s in the production sounding robotic, manufactured, with emotional strings bursting through (something human is trying to come out but keeps getting drowned by something almost parasitic). Even the fade out at the end doesn’t give the song any resolution. It gives off the impression that the song continues to go on infinitely. The obsession/control continues to eat away and we are just distancing ourselves from it.
Side note: This comment started as a couple lines of me saying I agree with you and turned into a thesis. Whoops.

I much prefer the original ‘Come Into My World’ rather than the single version which had lighter production and more whispery vocals. They switched this out on streaming I believe which is annoying. The original had more impact I think.

Love, love, love "Fever"! Looking back it's easy to see how the design of these songs and the innovative production level of her music videos for this album had such a major role in the shaping the sights and sounds of pop music for the first decade of the 2000s, but what's great is that songs like "Can't Get You Out of My Head" are still so magically addictive and timeless. I wish Kylie had more recognition and success in America, but its videos like this that helps raise awareness of her rightful place in the pop music pantheon. Great work, Eric!

In fact, ''Can't Get out of my Head'' was her commercial breakthrought of United States and a huge breakthrought in the dance clubs (she have later a huge success in dance clubs). Because when she released her first album, this album, depiste the success of ''I Should Be So Lucky'' and ''Locomotion'', the album sold only over 400 000 copies. ''Locomotion'' was also her only top 10 at the time in US, before Can't Get Out of My Head'' reach the top 10 fourtheen years later. The second album was total flop, so the label dropped Kylie in the US label. She didn't released a album US, before ''Fever'' in 2002. Because when ''Can't Get Out of my Head'' was released in the world, this song peaked n.1 for 40 country. All the Europeans countrys have this song in n.1 except finland. Because of his success, she easy one more chance to promote again in US. ''Can't Get Out of My Head'' was released in 2002 in US. This song was the reason of the success of the album ''Fever'' in US. This song was her most successful single to date.

Great video! This is the era I discovered Kylie (along with many others from the USA) so I have a fondness for this album. You might be interested in checking out some of the b-sides and bonus tracks from this era: Baby, Boy, Good Like That, Rendezvous at Sunset, Harmony, Tightrope, some others I'm forgetting. I think they're actually better than some of the tracks that made the album.
I would recommend Light Years or Aphrodite next. The way Kylie describes Disco, it sounds like it might be similar to those albums in addition to Fever.

Come Into My World shares the same writing and production credits as Can't Get You Out Of My Head. Come Into My World won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording.
Singles were: Can't Get You Out Of My Head - In Your Eyes - Love At First Sight & Come Into My World. Fever was serviced to Australian radio as a potential 5th single but no further singles were released despite each single being a Top 10 hit in Australia and the UK.

There is something with this album, that i appreciate it but can't get amd fully enjoy it, apart from Love at First Sight and Come into My World. After saw your analysis, it was obvious. These two song are some reliefs, giving pure melodic emotion in contrast with the monotone obssesive inferno that is the rest of the album. Hope to see a reaction of Body Language, that, coincidentally or not, has a track called 'Obssesion'.
Also, i want to suggest an album that could be, at least musically, contrast to this, 'Blue' from iamamiwhoami

I decided to check out this album. I totally forgot that I rented this cd at the store. I really enjoyed More More, More, Dance Floor, and In Your Eyes.
I’m still not totally a big fan of this album. At the beginning of it’s release, this album sounded weaker (pop-wise) compared to other female dance pop artists. JLo, Beyonce, Amerie, Ashanti.
I was not really a fan of Love at First Sight, I did see a live performance that sounded a lot stronger than this. (this is just my personal taste-a lot of these ladies club bangers at this time).
I thought (to myself), man this would have been a killer track for J Lo or Mary J Blige. I think part of the problem is that it was released at an odd time for dance/electric music. Now, I feel like it evolved to sound a lot better.
Also, they had huge promotions calling her the European Madonna. And I remember every going, like what did they call her?
Overall, there were a few dance tracks that were pretty cool, but I think Kylie’s best stuff was never really promoted in the US. I would place this one at the lower end of discography. I thought Light Years and X were a lot stronger (IMHO). Thanks for the review!
