Wow, you guys nailed this one. A good tune with a harder edge, a cool mix and great vocals. Thank you for taking this to the next level. I'll bet Mr. DeBurgh is proud of this work. Well done gentlemen. THANK YOU....!!!!!
I've listened to soo many covers of thus song tryin to find a good rock version. FOUND IT. Chris deBurghs versions ace but like someone said, it needed the harder edge
Came across this version on spotify this past year. Put it in my liked songs love this version. Loved the original also being a genXer I remember seeing this on the old MTV. Good memories.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15) And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. (Revelation14:9-11)
Wonderful version of Chris De Burgh song by a fantastic band finally back together again. Lee Small is sounding better than ever. Where can I get the CD? This is my music this and prog rock!
Don't Pay The Ferryman It was late at night on the open road, Speeding like a man on the run, A lifetime spent preparing for the journey; He is closer now and the search is on, Reading from a map in the mind, Yes there's the ragged hill, And there's the boat on the river. And when the rain came down, He heard a wild dog howl, There were voices in the night, "Don't do it!" Voices out of sight, "Don't do it! Too many men have failed before, Whatever you do, Don't pay the ferryman, Don't even fix a price, Don't pay the ferryman, Until he gets you to the other side" In the rolling mist, then he gets on board, Now there'll be no turning back, Beware that hooded old man at the rudder, And then the lightning flashed, and the thunder roared, And people calling out his name, And dancing bones that jabbered and a-moaned On the water. And then the ferryman said, "There is trouble ahead, So you must pay me now, " "Don't do it!" "You must pay me now, " "Don't do it!" And still that voice came from beyond, "Whatever you do, Don't pay the ferryman, Don't even fix a price, Don't pay the ferryman, Until he gets you to the other side; Don't pay - the ferryman!"
I hope Lee Small stick around and release as many albums as possible with this band. The guy is an exceptional talent but isn't good at finding a steady gig.
Sorry to say this but CdB can't sing for toffee. He CAN write songs though. This is DPTF as it was meant to be done, with metal guns blazing. Terrific stuff
yep, i did, but i am not complaining, i grew up listening to classic hard rock and metal, i enjoyed it :D Welcome to the west coast 2 was not that good unfortunately (imo)
yes i had ordered second nature, & the other lionheart cd was of that satanic california band, which rocky newton let me know before it had shipped! thanks again rocky you rock!!

Don't Pay The Ferryman

And when the rain came down,
He heard a wild dog howl,
There were voices in the night, "Don't do it!"
Voices out of sight, "Don't do it!
Too many men have failed before,
Whatever you do,

Don't pay the ferryman,

In the rolling mist, then he gets on board,
Now there'll be no turning back,

Can't believe etc
