  • Candied Walnuts
    2 cups walnut halves
    ½ cup granulated sugar
    2 tablespoons butter (I use salted butter but you may use unsalted if you prefer.)
    ½ cup water
    3 tablespoons light brown sugar
    ¼ teaspoon salt
    Using a medium skillet add walnuts and allow to cook over medium heat (about 5 if your dials are numbered) for about 1 minute. This will allow the walnuts to warm and slightly toast. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar and incorporate with the walnuts. After the sugars have incorporated, add the butter to the skillet. Cook for about 1 additional minute until the butter has melted. Add the water and salt. Stir frequently and increase the heat slightly to medium high (about 7) and cook for about 5-6 minutes stirring constantly to ensure all walnuts are coated. After about 5-6 minutes, most of the liquid should be reduced to a caramel type consistency. Remove from the heat and spread in a single layer on a silicone lined baking sheet. Allow to cool completely! If there are walnuts that have attached to each other, gently separate them. Once the walnuts are completely cool, store in an airtight container (such as a Mason jar) and store on the counter for about 10-14 days. Enjoy!

    Thank God for your Southern belle kindness... and cooking skills. I just came up with an idea I was just thinking how can I make a walnuts sweet. So good lord gave me an idea of butter some milk some brown sugar and cinnamon. The milk butter turn into like a yogurt with the cinnamon and brown sugar in there and they're delicious. Give that a try and you're right great for ice cream Jesus loves you be blessed

    Thank you so much. I’ve tried 2 other batches in the oven and I can not make it come out right. Also if found a lot of written recipes do not have measurements listed. Its frustrating!

    Can you tell me what fry pan you are using for this recipe?

    • @stephsstovebystephaniethom7249
      @stephsstovebystephaniethom7249  6 месяцев назад

      It’s a 12” stainless steel fry pan. I added a link in the video description for you to find the exact one. It’s very versatile and I use it for lots of recipes. It heats well and cleans beautifully! I have had it for years without any problem and it still looks new. Thanks for your question! So glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you have a blessed day!!! 😊

    Will the candied walnut feel sticky when done?

    • @stephsstovebystephaniethom7249
      @stephsstovebystephaniethom7249  11 месяцев назад +2

      No, the walnuts will be dry after they are removed from the heat and have completely cooled. Thanks for your question. Have a blessed weekend!!!

    Why not make the syrup first then add the nuts!

    • @stephsstovebystephaniethom7249
      @stephsstovebystephaniethom7249  11 месяцев назад +5

      I add the nuts first to allow them to toast. This brings out more flavor in the walnuts. Thanks for watching and your question! Have a blessed evening!
