Yeah, like all DIYers, I'm often required to use masonry saws, DIY arborist duties on my acreage, wrap my vehicle fleet, drill prestressed concrete for chemical anchors and replace the fence posts around my cattle ranch. On what planet are these DIY tools?
You wouldnt pay 1500 for the kind of piece of mind of knowing what's behind your drywall brings? There could be like a wire or something, maybe even plumbing. Bro your family is at risk. Just buy it!
I only used Makita in my company. Four years ago I detected a huge drop in the quality of Makita. Now we don't buy any Makita tools any-more. There are now dozens of brands with the same low quality for a quarter of the price.
No trade uses Hammer drill mode, why do they keep putting it on pro level tools? Pro's use rotary hammer's, I haven't seen a pro use a hammer drill for 20yrs. Hey Makita, ditch the hammer function, save some weight & make something tough & compact.
On concrete you would need it, Makita is producing for the whole World not only carpentery based north America, but maybe pros would say otherwise and the most skilled don't use it on any masonry, still doubt it
When King Salman's kid has a DIY woodworking hobby in his spare time.

That scanner is way over priced, I would buy one in a heartbeat if it was in the $500 to $700 range.
