  • In 2006 we drove 10,000 kilometers along the Silk Road from Zhengzhou to Kashgar and then back. The Taklamakan Desert was a massive natural barrier for the ancient traders, dividing the silk route into a northern and southern track. We traveled west on the northern road and then returned back east on the southern road.

This looks amazing! I am planning on doing something like this, though exiting China into Central Asia and thus only doing one half of the loop. So I'll have to decide between the north and the south. I would love to see the whole documentary but exploringlife.com seems to be nonexistent :/ Is it anywhere to be found? :) Greetings!
