As a fan I love how much footy there is and can’t get enough. In saying that I feel for the players and think they could use more of a rest. 27 rounds in the NRL is abit much in itself. The intense training you would have to do all year to be in peak condition. Being away from your family and friends. All this would take a toll. Maybe get these games going in the middle of the year. Halt the NRL games for 4 weeks, Do the pacific cup and world club challenge. Then back to it.
It's going to be boring because NZ & AUS are understrength & Samoa isn't playing in this comp. However this is a great opportunity for Tonga to knock off the Kiwi's & Australia, so there will be some excitement there. If the Kiwi's, Australia, & Samoa were at full strength along with Tonga, this tournament would be one for the ages.
NZ sure but Australia has enough depth to come up with 2-3 top tier sides that would rival full strength Tongan and Kiwi teams. The comp is boring bc the regular season is too long imo
Season is way too long. I like the idea of this tournament but played at the end of season it'll always be missing alot of the top talent and will struggle to get eye balls.
Idk if australia win we kind of all expect it but when they dont its pretty much always because of how much talent is out injured.I think people wanting to be eligible for origin since its a much much bigger deal is keeping too many people playing for australia that would go play somewhere else if it meant they could represent their families culture and also play for the state they grew up in
Nrl is growing, many of the NEW fans now are mostly interested into seeing their favorite teams run it back. I reckon the solution is to have the Origin games happen every 2 years and the pacific games every 4 years. That way elite players won't feel pressure and the anticipation for Origin & Pacific would even be more hype like superbowl, rugby world cup, Olympics etc level. Sometimes NEW fans are there for the hype, the longer you make them wait for that team they were hyped for the more chance they'll forget about it because some other crap got their interest more consistent
Well, I am going to the game Friday night because I like to see my players from my NRL team I supported and member of playing for Australiaand For Tonga only chance in Brisbane to see pacific nations tournament play and see the woman playing too
I think Australians tend not to care about these comps but the rest of us do bc we don’t have a team in origin where origin is an Aussies peak. But yeah the seasons too long and international footy would probably do better if the regular season was shortened
Folks have more connection to their club teams when they are playing 24 games over 6 months every year. Internationals teams only play about 3 games and the playing groups look so disconnected because they're just mashed together with whoever is not injured from NRL season. These international games would be better played in February when people are hungry for some footy action after the off-season.
Tbf Jake wasn’t one of the blues better players and DCEs getting old. You can see the international coaches are wanting to get ready for the World Cup and DCE probably won’t be playing international footy then
I can tell why I have no interest in it and don’t bother with it, and haven’t watched it for quite a few years. International footy is a joke. The jumper means very little now. Blokes play for Australia, then, oh I’m going to play for another country because of my family. Umm, what? Players should be made to declare when they first come into the NRL. No changing on a whim. And if you declare for NZ or Samoa, whoever, that should make you ineligible for Origin. Yeah, easy pass for me.

season jsut needs to be shorter and this series would be good. still might be good but i bet the players are over it

No its beacuse the pinnacle is state of origin noone cares

Plenty of hype in nz.. sold out in chch.. not even our best team due to injuries, we are just grateful
I think it would be great for league if Australia wasn't even in the final

Only 2 teams in it , the other teams a practice run to the finals.
It's a good thing
No origin captains in team. Maybe the coach needs to go too. Love footy in all categories. Passion and ❤.

The Grand Final ends the season . Too much footy after it .
The broncos are done, the players are too woke !
The Broncos are dead wood at this stage.
because the season is 6 weeks too long
