Great video! I grew a Tulsi Basil this year and have been using it as a tea. I hear conflicting info about letting the plants flower. Some say the flower makes tea even more flavorful, some say letting the plant flower will cause it to stop producing leaves. What do you think? Do you ever let the plants flower? Thanks! 😊
I grow tulsi and allow it to flower because I also have bees and they LOVE it. It does, like all other basils, stop them from bushing out but I sue both flower and leaf in my tea. If you were going for bulk I would suggest pinching flowers off foe the first month of two and you will have a very bushy plant of leaves who will then all flower. Thanks for your comment! It's true that fresh herbs often have a more potent flavor and aroma than dried ones. Holy basil, also known as tulsi, is known for its beneficial properties such as reducing stress and promoting relaxation. While the terpenes in fresh basil may be more volatile, dried basil can still be a great option for making tea or adding flavor to dishes. However, the quality of the dried herb can make a big difference in its flavor and effectiveness. It's important to choose high-quality, organic, and fresh dried herbs whenever possible.
