Why does it sound like that? With headphones sounds so distorted I thought they've just dud a shit job at editing and/or producing...my favorite album probably though, but Vålde is fucking beautiful too....but abyssal too....but detestor too....but structures collapse too....self titled too.... Need to get reanimated by hate...

Honestly this song is not only one of the best on the album but it's the best choice to start this absolute aoty with. And I love the lyrics. Every second of this song was worth fcking Grammy.

When that big bend kicked in around the one minute mark i was like "holy god there couldnt be anything heavier than this" but then that panned riff kicks in about halfway... this song i think might be the heaviest music ive ever heard. 10/10

Ahhh, these mystical synths and overchorus/flanger on vocals are a great addition. As a result - it feels like something in the overlapping area between HLB and Sybreed. Cool!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for "Blood Spilled" and the rest of "Ashen"❤ Sometimes I can not stand the state of my life and health-issues with cancer and all the follow-up-diseases - plus all that crap happens in the world. So I turn up the volume, start "Blood Spilled" and my brain starts to pause and relax immediately! 🥰 Sometimes my body, blood and brain feel like million of ants running through and replaced everything - but when I listen to your music it turns into a calm, mirror-like sea... 🌞🍀🙃💯
I like to listen to this after eating some edibles. Makes for a very interesting and intense listening experience

4:00 the way the that 5th note hits is so existentially crucial I can’t even put it into words. Just like a human being can’t survive 3 days without water, I can’t survive unless that note hits. And fortunately for us all HLB goes ahead and gives us that crucial elixir of life with that one note. I become complete. I die happy. We all are complete. We all die happy
The transition from streight 16th notes to triplets through metric modulation is a classic bad ass move.

Here from Ola's Channel. The way it was spoken about the passion that is put into this project, I had to see for myself. First thing, holy crapola is this excellent. Second. Bring a forklift, 'cause boy oh boy is this HEAVY. Finally, watch that last breakdown. I broke my neck in 738 spots and the surgeons say I'll never headbang again. hahaha \m/

How did I only now just come to realize these guys are intertwined with vildhjarta...I hate to say it, because I really love vildhjarta as well, but this band is superior in basically every way. If vildhjarta and The Ocean summoned a demonic offspring and had it imbibe from the blood of a thousand infants to reveal its pure form, I still don't think it would come within a trillion light-years of touching the pure, blissful, blackened, beautiful evil spawned from Humanity's Last Breath.

Ok, I'm gonna be a bit of a jerk here, but this needs to be acknowledged. To be clear, I DO NOT think this was on purpose. But I need some outside opinions, is this too close, or am I overreacting? The vocals seems to be overshadowed because of the production. Cannot hear the vocals because music is overpowering which sucks man. I wanted to buy this album but this is the only reason I'm not buying it because I can't listen what he is screaming and when is he screaming because of the low pitched sound on vocals. Production either gone bad or maybe they wanted it. I don't like it this way. 😢
It might also be Philip’s diction (or lack there of) since the words aren’t as articulated as other vocalists, which could probably be due to his specific technique. Maybe try a different set of speakers with less bass perhaps but I see what you mean. There is definitely a wall of sound with this album but that’s partly why I love it
It’s intentional. The vocals are treated like another instrument and not supposed to stand out. Too many Deathcore bands only rely on the vocalist but the music itself is generic.

Vocal balance is great for me, but I'm also listening on quite the audio equipment. Maybe you should upgrade...
