Judsons gotta hear Mirar now!!!! They are essentially thall blended with classical piano and really lively spatial guitar work
Yess! Hestehov from Mirar!
Do it!!!!!
DEFFO This one! @@vilihendrix
@@vilihendrix 100% hestehov
@@vilihendrix +Franka
These dudes tune to Drop E an octave lower than normal and then frequently pitch the guitars down as low as A0. Killer stuff guys!
Buster is the modern metal wizard
Top 5 album of last year for me. It's one of the heaviest things ever released I reckon, and that 'space' is part of it.
Thall
From what I understand Buster revolutionased the thall sound and he has his fingers in a LOT of thall projects, he plays the drums and does post productuon stuff
Also Vildhjarta and HLB actually share a couple of members
This is what i gathered from my research on the topic a while ago
Btw, love your shirt Richard, Grima is one of my favourite live concerts I've been to
He is basically the producer/mixer of the majority of "modern" metal bands you can encounter, and i don't know if you know this but he also has a side project (the band Thrown) who turned up to be the most successful in term of numbers with just a few 2min long songs
And yeah he pretty revolutionised the whole metal industry in the last years not just thall
What an absolute hidden gem, thank you so much for the introduction gents 💚🤙
man, if they're doing Thall related stuff and Judson likes it, I'd love for them to do the newest Mirar release. The last song on that EP is just insanity, and i think Judson would like the opening and closing bits, maybe not the middle parts lol.
this is time stamped to that last song
ruclips.net/video/W79INu8ny-s/видео.htmlsi=cDn5PukC_4LT2eiN&t=1258
Yeeesssssss
Yes Mirar would be so fitting for this channel, I mean its thall + classical! I would love a reaction to the whole new EP (Mare) but if it has to be one Song, I would prefer any of the other 5 Songs instead of Cauchemar - because in it is very different from the rest of the EP in my opinion (in a good way), but a Song with more direct classic influences like Rachma (Rachmaninoff) or Franka (Rameau) is just such an interesting clash of worlds (thall + classical, and even EDM in Oslo lol). And as I said a perfect fit for this channel:D Love to Judson and Richard
@@LoCzapo I definitely agree with Rachma or Franka! Those two are my fav ones off that ep.
I’m so happy you guys did this! Loved Judson reaction, I wasn’t expecting him liking thall this much! So now if you want to go further down you may want to try something from the Valde album. Earthless is one of my favorites
Been waiting for this one ! Glad Judson liked it , this is my favorite from HLB.
Judson has the ear! I love that he loves this. It’s definitely hard to explain to many people the significance of THALL.
this was great, y'all are great. Love to buster and all his work!
Hands down, my favorite “reaction” channel 🎶 thanks for sharing the music guys!
I love seeing Judson seeing so enthusiastic about a band. More! Haha
HLB suggestions:
Earthless (music video)
Tide (music video)
Instill
Gawd damn!! That hits hard. Def got some mesuggah vibes.
Yall need to do them soon.
t h a l l
Definitely check out Mirar. It’s a thall project that’s inspired by classical and edm.
Crazy stuff.
I’d recommend Franka off the newest album.
And not thall, I’d recommend Luchgate. They play avant garde black metal with organ. I’d recommend I am Contempt or progeny of singularity
Do 'Linger' or 'Instill' next please!
Definitely Instill. Let the world sing in despair.
Though, if we're going for "usage of space" which they seem to enjoy, I'd suggest Passage.
Yeah, that use of "space" is one of my favorite things as well. My recommendation on that point would be a Danish band called LLNN, and in particular the song "Parallels". It's one of the most overt examples of that effect I think I've ever heard in a metal context. Most of their songs seem to lean that way to varying extents, but "Parallels" really feels like it's primarily *about* that cavernous soundscape. Edit: "Armada" also features it pretty prominently and might be a better composition on the whole, but it's almost 8 minutes. Genre-wise, it'd probably be called post-metal.
This is thalling all over the place. 😅 Nice to hear some beethoven too. That reminds me. Please do some Adagio. Piano heavy songs like from my sleep to someone else, next profundis, and stringless violin won't disappoint I'm sure. 😁
more THALL!
Nevermore - Sentient 6
du bist großartig! Tolle Unterstützung aus Hamburg, Deutschland
Incredible. Clearly you must take him down the thall rabbit hole and slide into djent, he's gonna love it.
Must be my favorite song from this album - it's so straightforward I love it. The guy you're talking about is Buster (pronounced as Booster I believe) Odeholm.
Thall was basically created by Vildhjarta, and Buster was a huge fan of them, his band's (HLB) first album was kind of a ripoff of Vildhjarta. Then at some point he joined them as a drummer and he currently mixes both bands, playing drums in hjarta and guitar in HLB. I guess he also contributes to Vildhjartas music more now, because it seems that Daniel (their initial/original music writer) is not into this anymore.
I'd consider Vildhjarta as original thall, while HLB evolved into some other thing where it still has some thall elements and also has some black metal elements, but most importantly it's more about sound-scape and sound design, I think it is what Buster is all about now.
If you want my suggestion for a Vildhjarta listen, it has to be something off of Masstaden Under Vatten.
My choice would be Passage Noir, because it represents all elements that make their music truly unique.
But be aware, it does not fill the heart with joy until you've internalized every single part of the album; because it's not a song, it's a place and a time in a world in the midst of a collapse and rebirth.
This is who I once commented saying I hoped you guys would check out. Humanity's Last Breath is such an experience to listen to, and Buster is unbelievably talented. You've already listened to two of his bands, but he does work outside of Thall as well, and is just as great at it. On that note, you should check out Thrown at some point.
Wow, the production is spot on
Wonder what he would think of Architects like broken cross or Gone with the wind. They use space so well
One of my friends was explaining to me the difference between Thall and Djent and he recommended checking out a band called Vildhjarta ( wild heart ) who I think he said we’re from Sweden as well.
Their guitars are tuned an octave lower than the normal bass guitar! First the guitars are tuned a whole octave down to E and then the whole thing is dropped down a whole octave with a pitch shifter.
My guitar says it's baritone A
It's EBEAG#A with pitch shift down -7 to A.
sunset sunrise or vagabond by vildhjarta would be awesome!
These guys & vildjharta share a couple of members I think.
MIRAR WHEN?
Thall
If you gonna go the HLB rabbit hole I'd probably do Instill next or if you wanna do an older song either Earthless (would recommend with video) or Abyssal Mouth (there the deathcore influences are more apparent). Otherwise if you wanna go down the "Thall" rabbit hole Mirar is quite the rage now and imo rightfully so. Very intriguing, very challenging music!
You guys should do some Sunn O))). Judson would like the hell out of that too ✌️
I'd be curious to hear what you guys have to say about Tesseract or Periphery
Come on... It would be amazing to hear Judson's thoughts on some Doom soundtracks
I think "Dodä" from Vildhjarta is a great representation of thall, highly recommended
Instill from HLB is the shit
Richard you should show him synestia’s cover of winter by Vivaldi.
I KNOW Judson would love Tide! The outro is one of the most beautiful endings to an otherwise heavy as shit song, I think he would love the orchestration. I even covered it on my Channel with my custom baritone guitar. Definitely do Tide! I’d love to see his reaction.
Also Vanda would be a good choice I think from Abyssal.
"Listen Louis, there is life in these old hands still...not quite Furiouso...Moderato? Cantabile, perhaps."
THALL
THALL to Vildhjarta!
Den Spanska Känslan please
they did that already!
@vilihendrix oh heck! I've heard they talked about it but I couldn't find it... maybe its region locked...
@@ARTemiUSMilitarist Did you find it? Just type: great measures vildhjarta. Should find it that way
Please, Show Judson "The Sleep" by Pantera.
Same dude. Different instruments! lol
+ thall +
Gotta show him Volumes, great use of space and heavy tuned guitars but with great melodies and harmonies underneath, maybe Wormholes or Serenity
Their sound is so deep it's crushing! Like Meshuggah after they reach pubity.
Can we do BellWitch Mirror Reaper please? Would be feature-length episode. 😂
Talk about… space….
Jason Richardson Fragments
You guys should react to some deafheaven or alcest, that would be cool
thall
The faceless, PD album please😊
Pls pls pls listen to the Disembodied Tyrant/Synestia ep
This isn't related but you should try Oranssi Pazuzu it's a Finnish band that does weird sounding psychedelic black metal, I've not heard anything that's close to them honestly. Very atmospheric but also kind of catchy sometimes? Only the vocals sound like black metal to me. You should try the song: Kuulen ääniä maan alta (no idea how to pronounce it :D)
please give yourself a chance to listen to Estatic fear - Chapter iv, it's a great underrated album.
If you want to check an amazing thall group that has a lot of classical and baroque influences you should check the group mirar
I would like to see khanate on this channel. That would be one interesting reaction haha
Judson seems to really like these more artistical artists, maybe try some Alkaloid?
How about some Periphery? Wax Wings or Have a Blast?
Possibly one of the heaviest albums ever written. It’s punishing from start to finish.
Hey if you like the space please do I am colossus by meshuggah
Sir, I recommend a song called "Torment" from the band Killing me inside,I hope you can react to the song 😅
Have you guys checked out Disembodied Tyrant & Synestia's Poetic Edda EP?
Judson would likely appreciate the song "Winter" for some Deathcore Vivaldi.
Check out Levitate.
Hope this helps. 😅'Sweden' is Sverige in Swedish. It is pronounced /SVA-rja/.
Oh nice!
@@Greatmeasures It's derived from Svea Rike which means the "The realm of the Svear(Swedes)" or "The Swedish Realm".
No, they say Sverige...
show him no oath
9:20 - what band can't you name!?
Pink floyd
ТХАЛЛ
Not that it really matters but HLB are not from Stockholm
HEY!!!!!! Have this guy check out DOWN lies i dont know what they say or where im going or the curse.
What a choice, gentlemen, what a choice.
Top Djent pick !
Is this industrial?
DOWN LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check DOWN lies or the curse deep deep songs you'll be playing it before its over i bet.
Parkway Drive - Crushed next :)
This is deathcore for adults. It's so delectable
React to Ulcerate
I think Humanity`s Last Breath could be called experimental deathcore
We often have better pronunciation than Americans in Sweden, so it is not really the Swedish chef-english anymore :)
Od to dog wanna play something like this training my dog we COOKIEEEEEEEEEES
Deathcore anyone
Nope
