  • Approach to a landing at Narsarsuaq, Greenland in a brand new Diamond DA42-VI twin diesel propeller aircraft on an unusually clear day, heading southwest after takeoff 4 hours earlier in Iceland - part of a ferry trip of the new aircraft from Austria to Canada, and ultimately to the US.
As this video begins, the aircraft is descending through 12,000 feet (from 14,000 feet earlier while crossing the southern icecap) in preparation for landing. The airport is not yet visible, but requires "hanging a left at the 2nd glacier" for the visual approach to Narsarsuaq.

That's awesome. Must of been quite an experience to ferry your own plane back to the states. Would love to fly one someday.

Are you a ferry pilot for diamond aircraft?

No -- this was my personal aircraft being ferried to the US, with an experienced Diamond Aircraft ferry pilot flying right seat with me.
