    I use an Alexa/Google Home-activated wall socket to be able to turn my ATEM Mini on and off by voice. It works great, and those sockets are not expensive. I also monitor my audio using the audio-out port on my video monitor. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge and experiences!

     @Steph Lee Films I would probably use a smart plug, in conjunction the one benefit of that is also it can be triggered externally through an IFTT/Scene, and you're not giving up the screw down power control at the ATEM. Appreciate the video, the audio out is way better for me.

    I had an issue with audio during a stream last week. It was introduced by splitting audio from the source to the ATEM and to a PC. The source was clean but I could hear the hum on the stream. I wasn’t able to monitor it during the stream without cause if a dropout waiting for the delay. Watching your video today I realize that I could have monitored the audio from the display that is fed by the ATEM since it had audio out over headphones! I’ll now be aware to check for issues coming out of the ATEM before starting the stream.
    I like the power switch hack, I have mine switch on a power conditioner, but may try this switch option which will allow me to plug into a battery backup and switch off independently. Without locking barrels I’ll have to be careful not to accidentally pull the plug.
    Thanks for these hacks.

    HelloSteph, thanks for your videos which are very helpful. I ordered a Component to HDMI adapter from Amazon so I can connect my older Sony Z1U (HD) camera to my ATEM Mini Pro. The camera still works but does not have HDMI. It will be good as a 2nd angle when doing live streaming. I would love to receive one of your spare power on/off switches!.

    Hey Steph, I'm proud to be a supporter of your channel! I have a request for a upcoming video. I'd like to be able to use my foot pedals to switch between cameras using my ATEM Mini Pro. I'm able to use them to switch camera views in OBS using hotkeys, but I have not found an easy way to use the pedals to control camera switching on the ATEM. If you know of a way I would love to hear it. That's my New year's resolution!!!

      Hi Lorne! Great to hear from you again! The foot pedal switching on a computer's hotkeys, that is VERY interesting. I've only seen it once at a friend's home (he plays computer games). I'll pop over to his place sometime next week and see if anything strikes my mind. Thanks for dropping by!

    Hi Steph this hack is super helpful!, I'd like to ask as for the USB C output can I hook it up to a HDMI splitter to record into my SSD and also project to the projector or LED screens? :D

    • @StephLeeTech
      @StephLeeTech  3 года назад +1

      Hi Jason it should work. But anyway the USB-C Output doesn't project any output I think you meant the HDMI Out. But if you meant the USB-C then it likely it doesn't work. You can try but right now the Atem Extreme is able to do that with a double USB-C output and double HDM Output. BMD has listened to feedback and responded!

    Hi Steph, can you demonstrate how to connect Nyrius Aries pro to Atem mini pro with video camera wireless

  • @ThinkShift
    @ThinkShift 3 года назад

    Hello my good friend Steph: Wondering if you can help me. When I connect my laptop to the HDMI input on the Mini Pro and then attempt to play a video clip, the video plays beautifully but the sound is not coming through. It does is not even showing on the audio levels of the ATEM, even thought it's playing fine on the laptop. I tried connecting a 1/8" audio cable from the laptop's headset jack to the ATEM mic in jack, but it still doesn't work (although when I do that, I do hear sound out of my preview monitor but not out of my speakers and not on the Zoom call). I've spent hours trying to trouble shoot this without success but there must be a simple solution, because all my other HDMI camera inputs carry the sound perfectly, so why not the laptop? Thanks for your help, cheers!

    • @StephLeeTech
      @StephLeeTech  3 года назад

      Hi Lorne great to hear from you and how are you doing there? Hope you are keeping yourself safe. Yes that is right. It has happened to me before. The problem is definitely with your laptop settings. When you connect a HDMI cable from your laptop to your ATEM Mini, you have to reselect from your Sound settings via your laptop settings to direct the Output to your HDMI because it is default to your laptop speakers. You have to manually tell your laptop to pass out sound through the HDMI cable. That is generally the issue so if you can look at your laptop's sound settings it should fix the problem, I hope!

    • @ThinkShift
      @ThinkShift 3 года назад

      @@StephLeeTech I can't believe I didn't think of that...so simple. Thanks and yes that solved that problem (you're amazing!). Now, I just need to figure out how to integrate my Stream Deck with the ATEM Mini Pro (it works great with OBS, but I want to use it directly with the ATEM over Zoom (without OBS) to bring in clips, images, websites etc) but this is proving very challenging. Are you planning any videos on this topic? No pressure :-)

    Hi, Steph. It's me again. I have a problem with your Hack #2 and #3. When using Mic1 & Mic2, especially, with a Level 6 audio delay set on the AMP to synchronize the audio with HDMI video, I am hearing my own voice delayed, of course, through my headphones. This delay causes me to "stammer" while speaking into my microphone and hearing my own voice come in delayed by 6 msec. What do I do to fix this? I need to monitor my own speaking voice in real time through my headphone connected to your HDMI Audio Extractor hack without causing me to stammer. TIA.
    (I am using the Rodecaster Pro's audio output to AMP's either Mic 1 or Mic2 ports. )

    • @StephLeeTech
      @StephLeeTech  3 года назад +1

      Hi Darren I think the moment you key in the audio delay you will hear 2 of your own voices (I know what you mean). Can you try not keying in the audio delay?

    • @Vendetta725
      @Vendetta725 3 года назад +2

      @@StephLeeTech Hi, Steph. Yes. If I don't key-in the delay it's awkward to hear the audio vocals ahead and out of sync with the video. Especially, since I am recording a "LIVE" karaoke singing performance where there's a need to use the Atem to switch to different camera angles.
      But I think I have found a solution. I'm just waiting for the HDMI Audio Extractor I ordered to arrive. I'm just using the headphone port from my Monitor connected to the AMP's HDMI Output. I'll report back later my findings. Thanks again for the hack tips. 👍

    • @tobybauer9360
      @tobybauer9360 3 года назад +1

      @@Vendetta725 Anything Post AMP is going to have the delay in the voice and will make it hard for you to talk with out stammering. If you connect the HDMI Audio Extractor on the output from AMP you will have the same audio as the monitor. If you connect the HDMI Audio Extractor on the input to AMP you will have the audio not synced when watching the monitor.

    • @Vendetta725
      @Vendetta725 3 года назад

      @@tobybauer9360 Thank you. I am well aware of that. But like what I replied to Steph here, I think I found a workaround pending the arrival of that HDMI Audio Extractor I ordered with my Rodecaster Pro. A little audio re-routing, technically, should do it. I'll post here later when that device arrives from China. (We don't have Amazon here in Philippines). Cheers!
