After watching Marc's gameplay, I found a VHS Sonic.EXE retake series on RUclips that had a few things in common with this game. Idk if these are coincidences or inspiration (probably), but lemme share them with yall.
-In Aquatic Ruin, Sonic sits down and Tails appears, stares at the camera. And then the zone lights on fire. In the VHS series, the same thing happens, only the roles are switched and it happens in Angel Island.
-Knuckles falls down in the game the same way he does in the VHS videos.
-Sonic's EXE form looks very similar to the main EXE shown in the series, except for his missing arm and the gray eye.
-This doesnt have anything to do with my topic but JAMES BOND KNUCKLES REAL???
-I'll find more. Maybe.

There is a secret level for Knuckles actually.
You first have to search the level and find a secret wall leading up which you climb, then you press the button.
And yk the area with the blocked off spring? Well now you can access it and go somewhere new..

Yeah, this fangame makes no sense, knuckles didn't existed until sonic 3, Sega genesis soundfont isn't hyper bitcrushed, virus isn't a real file extention (or else no one would fall for it, because if the file extention says virus it's a scam that only imbeciles would fall for)
And the pixel art is the worst, most original sprites was made in literal way paint, even the eggman plane crash level which looks rough and badly made, the exe tails is just a dark and green tails, the game has awful grammar, the "I am god" screen too, and instead of hyper realistic face you got a stretched png of the sprite
And the "I am demon" is the stupidest quote ever
I like the fact that Sonic is the first victim instead of Tails
