Thank you for pointing out that being locked into an 8x8 when he is only going to get better as a player, the salary cap is being raised next year, and most goalies having 5 year careers may be a bad decision in the long run. The entire issue may be length of contract and not the number.
Oh, the length is horrendous, but they’re offering him $3 million more a year than they should be. Just because the cap goes up, it doesn’t mean these players should be making more money, it means your third and fourth line players should be higher caliber players because you can afford to pay them better.
Wants to be paid the fifth highest goaltender in the league, no Vezna, no finals appearance, Hasn’t even played a 60 game season. This shit is a joke. I don’t want this kid on the Bruins, I hope they trade him.
I was a huge Swayman supporter, now I want him gone. 8 million is already over paying and if he wants even more then time to cut ties. The money could be spent elsewhere. Swayman's arrogance is over the top. The team survived 10 years of sub par goaltending (Rask) it can live another year or two.
Swayman isn’t worth 8 million a year. He’s achieved nothing in the NHL. Hasn’t even played an entire season. Such a waste of money. They should offer him 5 million a year for four years and if he says no, they should trade him.🤷🏻♂️
There are risks on both sides when you have an 8 year deal.. There are many examples of good and bad goalie contracts. Swaymen should take a shorter term contract and bet on himself in 2 or three years from now
Can you say Carey Price? Under all your assumptions Swayman is great. He could stub his toe and fall down the stairs and his career is over. Swayman could win a Cup? Why not assume he's going to singlehandedly win the next 8 Cups? He's not even worth 8x8 right now. Swayman should take the 8x8 and shut up. If he does not sign before the seasdon, I would either trade him to a terrible team for some draft picks or make him sit the next 2 years out, no pay and a massive decrease in his value on the market. He can sign in 2 years anywhere he wants for $2-3 million/season.
It's business. Not personal. You should go broker peace in the middle east. You have a nice light touch. Bench him for 2 years to teach him a lesson and ruin his finanacial earnings? Wow. What happens when they get your double vendi mocha chocolete latte from SB wrong? I bet you are a real joy. It's just business. The Bruins aren't paying money to sit a top 10 goalie for 2 years to "teach him a lesson" lmfao.

You’re assuming he’s going to get better than he already is and that’s a hell of an assumption, considering his position most goalies get worse to the point where they end up in the AHL
Great piece today Ian

So what if he blows out a knee or a hip. Then what. 8 million a year for nothing? No way. Plenty of other goalies that would love to suit up and play.
If this management team is stupid enough to give some child who has achieved nothing in the NHL 8 million a year for eight years, they should be fired
yeah, he could be selling himself short over time, he could also suffer a major injury as well and be paid for not playing at all.
Jeremy, remember Phil, Dougie, Joe, Milan. It could happen to you....
Take the deal Swayman!!!!
I hope he doesn’t take the deal and I hope the Bruins are forced to trade him. I don’t want this douche bag on my team.

Don't be so quick to judge Swayman..
Personally I believe the bruins never offered 64 until that presser
And don't forget Tyler.
I would never lock any goalie up for 8 years. Nothing against Swayman, but long-term goalie contracts are a risky affair.
I really don't care how much they offer him. I hope he leaves the bruins.
I value swayman at around 5 to 6 mil. Or scram!

Please let him go he is not a bruin move on way to much $ he is not worth even half of what they offered bruins fans they will never forgive him.
once again you are over rating Swayman.
Let him sit for 2 years and see what he's worth then!
@@georgemcelroy3058and watch no decent free agent sign in Boston anytime soon
@@georgemcelroy3058how would he sit two years when he's only there one more year
Please be real. Swayman is nowhere near Shesterkin
