If it was most disgusting or filthiest breakdowns Larcenia Roe would have been in Top 3 for sure. Personally I didn't go crazy over the over the top disgusting, shock factor breakdowns this year. But for others who want that, they're killing it.
The first breakdown in The Orphan Breed by Allt is EASILY my number 1, one of the few things i go back 30 seconds in a song to hear over and over again Or, if it counts, Atena - Leave, but its not quite a breakdown as much as just a really cool buildup to the chorus.
The list is just valid asf, opinions might differ. Personally, I think The Poetic Edda was the best song of the year, not even mentioning the breakdown was pure insanity, glad to see them in the top 3

It is so hard to choose, but some that come to mind that aren't mentioned are Death Awaits by Resolve and False Divinity by Texas in July. They both hit the spot for me and I like the two-parter.

I know a lot of poeple don't like their new stuff, but Asking Alexandria - Bad Blood took me by surprise. Listening to it for the first time it felt like the perfect song to mix some heavy vocals into, and I spent the entire song just waiting for it. When those sudden lows cut off Ben's singing, it was a blast of dopamine.
Almost every breakdown is pedestrian in comparison to every breakdown in the latest END album. Gaping wounds of earth annihilates every song on this list by a mile.
