It’s a shame people are STILL so ignorant! I used to live in New Mexico. I went to an employment agency for a job. I heard them speak to the prospective employer. They actually lied about my qualifications, stating I typed many more words than I actually did. I went for the interview. I actually got the job, no thanks to the agency, because my new employer was called by the agency telling them that I was “colored”. Apparently the employer would have been able to determine that I was Black. It just so happened that my new employers happen to be attorneys. I was told that since the employment agency happened to mention that I was “colored”, that they violated terms of the contract I signed, therefore, I owed them nothing. The attorney called the employment agency and told them he would take them to court if they ever tried to charge me a fee. Thank goodness I was working for four attorneys who did not care what color I was. We all got along very well!

Yet, yt people say we have the same rights and can do what they do because there is no racism. We can't travel without being attacked , we can not be in yt spaces without being questioned and police called on us. We can't defend ourselves from them because we will be punished but not them for initiating the attack. We are denied promotions, jobs and entry into colleges or research programs even though we are often overqualified. These folks from other countries learn this behavior from yt America. So we can't travel safely to other countries like ignorant China, the Chinese are insanely racist . The nerve when they are hated just as much because of COVID. This is a sick world
I’m of the opinion that since 2016, people have become so open about their biases because they have been exposed to the same biases expressed by the former president. It’s sad, and it’s disgusting that people are even exposing their children to this level of ignorance,hatred, and racism .
In March 2023, I was on my way home from a Caribbean cruise. I was on the plane seated in a isle seat, a latino family was boarding. The were speaking Spanish ( which i know) about me being seated in front of them. I ignored them. The guy decided to pull his luggage from the over-head bin and purposely drop it on my head. I cussed him out in Spanish. They stayed quiet the entire flight. ✊🏾

Those Latino folks never seem to learn that other folks, especially black people, know and speak Spanish fluently. I used to be fluent, but not so much over the years. I was online behind 2 ladies in a small local grocery. Some of my items were already on the counter, and the cashier and two ladies started talking about me in Spanish. When they were done, I asked in Spanish, "Are you done?" They all got flustered. I continued in Spanish, that I understood all that was said. They remained quiet as I beckoned towards the manager, an Asian lady. She came over, and I enquired if they carried another product. The cashier had stopped breathing at this point. After checking out, I quite loudly let the cashier know that I'll never come back because of her rudeness. She hung her head as the manager made her way over.
