I have advocated for a tv show doing this in reality. HR people I believe would not hire their own bosses and if the resume hid actual company names with equivalent details I think it would truly be enlightening. I was asked recently what my last 2 years showed how I could do a job that I sent a lifetime doing. Amazing the lack of training HR people have
It’s actually true that some places are more likely to hire a younger inexperienced person over an older experienced person. I watched a tv program (I think it was 20/20) years ago where they secretly taped interviews and younger people were hired over older ones. There is age discrimination at many places.
Yeah but people are not just hired based on experience...its whether or not they will fit in with their customers and the staff they have already, but yes this guy was out of line

Supermission Squad, you need to be kind and compassion even when interviewing!!! Get ready for your sacking, Louis, you made a big blunder!!!!
This type of thinking is more prevalent than one would think. It's everywhere! One example is; The McD in my area will claim the position has just been filled when an older person inquiries about the job they have on their sign.
That lady CEO has it in one very small sock, I love the way she handled the guy and the girl got the job. good point in the video clip. (Mississippi gulf Coast, USA).
This is awesome! I wish that some companies would not reject potential employees because they don’t have that little square of paper in a fifty cent frame on their wall and would consider experience of a potential candidate - this in some instances could project ageism. Thank you for sharing this enlightening video.
If a place won't hire you these days they usually say "we will be giving you an email in a couple days." The email a couple days later is a copy paste rejection email. This prevents companies from being sued.
This is the way they treat older people who are looking for jobs. The younger people whom hold positions are so disrespectful and insensitive to the older generation who care still work. He should have been fired just what he deserves. Take notes young people 😂😊
This is the new generation workers in retail stores act on the phone texting , face timing why you are at r to he register. In the middle of the transactions I tell them never mind and I walk away.

Exactly, I worked at Walmart for many years. They used to have department managers that worked 7-4 Monday-Friday with holidays off. They eventually got rid of the old wood and the new managers work weekends ,holidays and nights. The new people have no experience ,and are pulled to work all over the store never allowed to complete a task.
So true! I work in HR for fortune 100 Company & have more experience than anyone in my office. Yet they’d rather hire from outside the company or make a lateral promotion for someone with no actual HR experience. They launched a Customer Satisfaction Survey which is being increasingly used as a performance tool. It is wrought with validity issues & application errors, yet despite feedback, they march forward without a care. The data is skewed due to employees manipulating their work to obtain positive feedbacks.

Title 7 is very clear on this topic. This must be training film on what NOT to do when interviewing a potential candidate.
Lawsuit! You can't tell a person they are too old to do a job. That's discrimination and worthy of suing their pants off
Yes you can.
Happens everyday, everywhere!
I was told in an interview that I was "overqualified " for a fast food job.
@@bobtraub9945 But when they TELL you that's why they're not hiring you, THEN you have the grounds for a lawsuit. It's hard to prove, whether they say it out loud or not, but if it hasn't been said out loud then they have a lot of other reasons they could gin up.
That said, I realize this video is a sketch, and not real, but that CEO should've canned him on the spot for the legal liability alone.
Good luck trying to prove it
Justice served. I love it! Something that is highly lacking in this day and age.
Under cover? Who is filming? But regardless, the CEO makes a great point!
He's the manager he could be recording it himself..
He is the manager he should be Abel to hire who he wants…
@@rudyheicksen177 Are you listening to what he is actually saying?
@@rudyheicksen177stupid much??? Where do you work
This looks like a stage scene. But have you seen the undercover boss!
It is absolutely true that this occurs, and unfortunately, this attitude is still going to continue.
A perfect example of someone who believes that by the virtue of the position, and nothing more than that, they know everything necessary to know in their company.
Exactly the same thing happened to me. I applied for a software developer role at BUPA health insurance. They stated that I was *well qualified* and experienced but their workforce is generally younger than me.
Tell the young salesperson to call this person and he calls the CEO and her cellphone rings.😊
I love that idea!
It was entertaining to watch him go from "leave you peasant, "to "OMG what have I done?"
That's pure age discrimination!
I totally agree with you.
its pure racist
There is discrimination on all aspects of life. So what's new. But I will say, some that cry discrimination are not discriminated against . They just didn't get their way. It's so easy to say " discrimination "
Plus he called her honey!
Age - Weight - Complexion [Color White], amongst other discriminations⁉️
It will be the 511 Anniversary Celebration, of the Concoction of White People on October 29!
Wow! That's amazing. Hope that all CEO is like that. God bless to everyone. ✌️🙏💖
Great undercover CEO ❤❤ Angies discrimination is real! And what people don’t understand as older we get smarter we get! ❤ Because in life is a learning process… God blessing
Calling her honey is even more disturbing 🥲💔
I heard it too and was baffled.
Women do it to men too. Honey, sweetie, love.
Not professional
That "honeyfication" is very unprofessional and disrepectful.
Bravo, bravo, good acting. No HR rep in their right mind would say the things he said, even if they were true.
I was told several times “We want *recent* college graduates.”
That wasn't the company for you dear because you obviously gave them a strong interview but they were looking for individuals that they could push around, that they could take advantage of and obviously you we're not a pushover. Congratulations, you 👏 pulled the smart, strong, and capable card
Majority of baby boomers are being discriminated upon now, which makes it difficult with all the layoffs across the country.
Exactly. They aren’t allowed to ask your age, but when they see a job on your resume that you had in 1980, they pretty much know anyway.
Isn't your birthdate a field on applications?
@@Magnarmis not anymore.
It is the quality of actions of one which shows how much capability he or she has!
I have advocated for a tv show doing this in reality. HR people I believe would not hire their own bosses and if the resume hid actual company names with equivalent details I think it would truly be enlightening. I was asked recently what my last 2 years showed how I could do a job that I sent a lifetime doing. Amazing the lack of training HR people have
She should have called Security to escort him to HR. 😊
Props to both actors for showing the exaggerated but accurate representation of retail life.
It’s actually true that some places are more likely to hire a younger inexperienced person over an older experienced person. I watched a tv program (I think it was 20/20) years ago where they secretly taped interviews and younger people were hired over older ones. There is age discrimination at many places.
Ain't that the truth.
Compass Connections is one place that does this. If your over 45+ they will DO ANYTHING to push you out.
Yeah but people are not just hired based on experience...its whether or not they will fit in with their customers and the staff they have already, but yes this guy was out of line
My sister got hired somewhere
For all I know they may have turned down older people
I was interviewing with job experience…..
ACE was looking in a creepy sexist way, for a young cute saleswoman instead!
How can he not know the CEO of the company he works for??
He must be a moron.
That CEO should pick up on this woman’s ability to communicate. “You need to leave now” is code for I’m outclassed and can’t keep up with your reasoning.
Did you miss the title. She is the CEO undercover.
We know the video is scripted, but the satisfaction is real-why? Because we have faced people like that guy in our lives.
Jane was being age-shamed by the rude , disrespectful manager who was judging her by skin color and look. He doesn't even read the dossier about her, she might be an Undercover boss!!! Shooting down her ideas based off her age is too shocking, she can relate with both young and old. Her passion is still aflame, he will be fired really soon!!! Supermission Squad, you need to be kind and compassion even when interviewing!!! Get ready for your sacking, Louis, you made a big blunder!!!!
Although I agree with you, I don't feel it was a blunder. He SHOWED his true colors.
The Manager showed his true. colours and proved he has no empathy and no professionalism, especially as an interviewer.
Is this real ? I doubt it.
Got to bring up race huh. Typical
You GO GIRL😂😂 loving this
This young actor is sooo GOOD at playing the villain-ANY villain!😂 I've come to DESPISE the poor kid!😂
That’s a compliment
Thanks? lol
An amazing piece!
Louis was extremely rude.
Everyone deserves respect. You can lose it and have to regain it by earnings but everyone and everything deserves respect.
He said “ I’m getting tired of this ( speaking with her)
A gem of a video! Keep them coming, please!
The person playing Jane Everett is a great actor. I want to see more of her;
I worked for Walgreens reno nv.. Atlantis casino in reno nv.. The Peppermill in reno nv.. Very unprofessional staff. Thank you for this video. ❤🎉
Doesn't he know his company's CEO? 😂
I was thinking the same
Apparently not
Obviously not!
You never saw the show "Undercover Boss?"
No just for you guys to enjoy the clip.
This is awesome! I wish that some companies would not reject potential employees because they don’t have that little square of paper in a fifty cent frame on their wall and would consider experience of a potential candidate - this in some instances could project ageism. Thank you for sharing this enlightening video.
Discrimination against women and age😮
I believe it is age discrimination and racism.
Please, don't bring gender into this
If a place won't hire you these days they usually say "we will be giving you an email in a couple days." The email a couple days later is a copy paste rejection email. This prevents companies from being sued.
This is the way they treat older people who are looking for jobs. The younger people whom hold positions are so disrespectful and insensitive to the older generation who care still work. He should have been fired just what he deserves. Take notes young people 😂😊
He is racist and agest
Facts,
This is the new generation workers in retail stores act on the phone texting , face timing why you are at r to he register. In the middle of the transactions I tell them never mind and I walk away.
It really goes both ways. I've seen the older generations discriminate against the younger and vise versa.
I've noticed those people usually had shitty parents or guardians, so they assume every other older person is just like them. Not that that excuses it, but it's usually the case.
I love these stories because the lesson is “never judge a book by its cover.” Besides, you never whom you’re talking to
Experience is worth nothing. Companies want young people who will not call out their bullshit like old, experienced people will do.
Later for that bullshit.
They don't want people who are good at their job. They want people they can train, who won't ask questions.
And quit on you in a minute
YES/ YES/ YES. WE NEED more of this accountability throughout the world.
If two employees of a store conducted an argument in front of a customer, in real life she would probably walk out.
True, some would. But I wouldn't, since one of them is sticking up for me... Beautiful video!
Or stay for the 🎼🎶🎵🎤Entertainment😊❤
Am staying for the free suit
She truly schooled him and taught him a valuable lesson don't judge others for their appearance never know who they are ❤
This is so sad!!! Discrimination is nothing but a BULLY!!!!
This happened to me...I was told I had all the qualifications and experience required but I wouldn't fit in with the other employees because I was too old!!!! I reminded little 28yr old manager that she was being rude and also discriminating against me....this was in Australia..it happens everywhere..their loss not mine
OMG Respect is earned?? WTF. I’ve heard this before and it’s crap and mean. Everyone deserves respect as a human being. Hope this is heard
Experience in the subject matter and life experience are often ignored by younger people some of whom who believe they know best. I have met and known/know people like him.
Someone will be needing a new resume very soon 😮😂😂😂
I was a retail manager for decades. I found that the older person was the hardest working. I almost NEVER had any issues with them, they always showed up on time, very rarely ever called out , and were a real asset to the business. They were more likely to stay with your company for a longer time too.
Wow this goes on and on
This video is super well made!! Gratz i hope see more i will show them to my staff and group leaders, thanks a lot!!
