In 40 years of watching sports I've never been let in live to the mind of an all star athlete. This is amazing.
It really is. I always thought that pitchers were thinking "oh no, I think I'm going to shit me pants" between every pitch.
Bauer is perhaps the greatest athlete/journalist ever.

I know 2 things are true:
- Trevor needs signed
- The Mexican League TV strikezone needs an alignment
That strike zone was driving me crazy
I picked up pretty quickly (maybe the first pitch, when the ball bounced off the ground and the catcher had to go after it) that the pitch tracker was off. After awhile, it was the same location and speed no matter where he threw it. Then I noticed after awhile, it wasn't there at all. Which I thought was an improvement by that point.
It is usually right, this was a malfunction during the transmission
I didn’t Mexico had a baseball league. Thoroughly interested now.
1. MLB and the Dodgers both owe this man a public apology for wrongfully convicting him before his day in court; and not rectifying the situation after his case was dismissed because the accuser lied. 2. Probably not a good idea now because he is still trying to get back in MLB, but him and the players union need to sue MLB for what they did to an innocent person.
Dude, im a pitcher in high school right now. And your my biggest inspiration. I have leanrned new mechanics and warmups from you and I thank you for things you have taught me. It really is awesome to watch you play. I want to become a proffesional pitcher, and I feel like I’m getting closer and closer to my goal. These videos are really fun and entertaining to watch. This stuff is priceless! Hope the up and coming pitchers are watching Trevor's vlog's and taking note. Very very rare to find an athlete letting you know how they are thinking and the way they approach their respective game. As a former pitcher at the college level I wouldn't want to give this stuff away but I guess the hitter still has to hit the ball and with Trevor throwing like he can it's not going to be easy and these guys are Pro hitters. The footage of the coach talking was awesome!
that talk with the pitching coach at 24:00 and how he talked about you to his team, after was one of the coolest thing ive seen in a long time. Wish you could get signed these videos are unreal and would be awesome to see you back in MLB

I love how laid-back that Mexican staff was. The bullpen coach says " Don't worry we'll hold them until you're ready " and then one of the bench coaches says " yeah we're just waiting on you Daddy take your time ". Like they didn't even hint him that he got to hurry up and go out there lol they figure he's an adult he'll get there when he gets there and when he's ready. That was pretty chill to see because of how frenetic the pace is over here all the time In the United States.

10th grade son thats varsity catcher watches his vids to learn pitch calling....he also throws some on mound but our backup catcher got hurt in football and out for baseball season...but he has his 11th and 12th year and when his throw to 2nd is mid to upper 80s...he gone be happy be back on mound next year!

Bauer is one of the first pitchers I've seen get so analytical and study the science behind his pitches. Definitely a pioneer and trailblazer
Should have watched Maddux throw in the 90's....... would make Bauer look like a high school pitcher...... Maddux would set people up so freaking well...... go find some highlight reels on youtube.... you won't be dissapointed.

Thank you for this Trevor. I am learning so much about pitch strategy. I always thought of pitching from the perspective of one pitch at a time. I would have been a much more effective pitcher if I would have thought in sequences. I LOVE that you do this.

Hearing Trevor talk about "Centering" was awesome, especially since I'd never heard of the concept until college when I was able to sit with Jeff McKay, an expert on the topic, and it changed the way I played the game. Love the insight into the pro scene.
Also...see it happen and make it happen...sim to a golfer! Another good approach when hitting is eye focus on object far and then near then far again..helps ya eyes FIRE TO FOCUS as the ball is onway to ya!

He got caught up in a bad spot his mouth and ego played a part, made him a easy sacrificial lamb. Perfect people don't exist, i hate dicks who live to pile on after others misfortune self inflicted or otherwise. I love someone striving to do better to do life differently. I am Japanese. When playing baseball in Mexico, I didn't realize that it was affected by batted balls, curveballs, and (tiredness?) altitude.
With the pitch clock, you have less time to rest your body.

I grew up playing ball in LA. I live in Phoenix, which is much higher in elevation, and I had to relearn how to track fly balls.

Love the talk about the chess game, thinking 2-3 pitches ahead and sequencing was something I always thought about as well. Something a lot of pitchers fail to do. Such a great breakdown and loved that I thought of the game the same exact way in my playing days.

This is incredible stuff. Trevor totally got squeezed by the ump on at least 2 balls that should have been strikes. Love how Trevor knows what he should pitch, but challenges the batter with a fastball anyway.
