Cheers mate. Thanks for the detail about your mat, noticed it in every vid, will defo be something I'm interested in.
Always good to see next steps, especially as that's the kitchen we watched you chase out for what no doubt for you seemed like hours!
Very neat job under the sink, bread and butter plumbing right there. 👍
Thanks Ollie..... yer the workmats are great mate..👍🏼👍🏼
Yer it’s nice to see the process through the jobs, glad you appreciate it buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
Lov your vids. They show the real world of plumbing.
Thanks mate.... exactly how I want it to come across 👍🏼👍🏼
Top video as usual mate, I had to change a leaking tail on a very expensive rad at weekend and the engineer I was with tried locktite and paste and was still leaking, he then wrapped it 40 times with ptfe and that worked a treat, looking forward to the next one pal
Thanks mate.... Looking forward to trying this magical loctite...🤔🤔
some brilliant work there mark 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks John 👍🏼👍🏼
Good one again Mark some good tips learn something new every day
Thanks Glyn...... 👍🏼👍🏼
Great Great Vid AGAIN! I’m so Interested in Anything Plumbing it is unreal But it is my Dream Dream Job but Any Way KEEP THE GREAT VIDEOS COMING! and I cannot Wait for your Next Video 👍
Thanks mate👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
As someone who solders a joint once every five years on his acs exam, I'm impressed how you did all those joints and never left a single scorch mark. If it had been me, it would have looked like the inside of a coal fire.
Hahaaa... thanks buddy, Do it near on everyday...👍🏼👍🏼
Loving the video as always , definitely keep doing what you’re doing , real life stuff , you have the sincerity and likability on your side too so sure loads more will follow you . PS I know what you mean about crap parts I got out the office this last week fitting a new bathroom and the bath trap supplied by a well-known bathroom supplier looked like it came out of a Christmas cracker didn’t even have a washer in it so God knows how that was supposed to not leak!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 typical had used last of van stock the previous week , so in the van off to the merchants to buy a new one again 30 minutes plus wasted cost of fuel etc 🤬 😂😂
Thanks mate.... I’m glad it’s coming across how I was hoping it would....👍🏼👍🏼
Yep, some of the stuff we have to fit is a joke sometimes
Agreed with JV below. Very interesting to see all sides of the trade
Thanks Malc 👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼
As an apprentice site plumber, watching your videos is so interesting, learning a lot from them!
Thanks mate.... I started on sites nearly 30years ago... house bashing. Great times back then.
Glad your enjoying the content mate, plenty more to come.👍🏼
I work mostly on the Avant homes, nice big houses, concealed taps, toilets and basins, they’re nice!
Can’t wait to see what’s to come!
Great video keep up the good work
Thanks mate
Just changed an ideal standard flush washer today. Had to put a new iso in too cos I changed the inlet and it was a low pressure feed as well and had to empty the loft tank. I love the loctite thread to be honest it can spill out on rad tails but you soon get used to the stuff and how much is required. Those waste outlets are a pain. Polypipe traps usually come with a euro adapter for them.
Sounds like you had a fun day then Robert..... never a dull moment in our game is there👍🏼👍🏼
Cheeky beer and a tiff vid . 🤘
Loving the dream 🤣🙌🏼🙌🏼
Love your vids mate but don’t you need a double check valve before a washing machine outlet and straight after the stoptap ?
Thanks mate…… 👍🏼👍🏼
Nope, never had to
Hi mark great vids love the honesty also can you tell me the exact model of the water filter please 👍
Thanks buddy..... glad you like them.
Link is in the description and it’s the Chemical compound one
Great film, I love copper pipe work and toilet flushes. I’m interested to see what you think of the locktite instead of ptfe tape.
Just a quick question if that’s ok, would you recommend putting silicone grease on the rubber sealing washer inside a new drain off valve?
Hope the rest of the week is good to you, take care, regards, Chris.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it👍🏼
As for the grease question... I’ve never done it personally but don’t see why not
@@MJTiffPlumbing ok thanks for the answer. I look forward to the next film. Regards, Chris.
Nice tidy job Mark 👍 Them European sink wastes are a pain in the @rse, I usually carry a couple of adapters as van stock and I'm sure you do to - but then you use them and forget to replace 😬 Are you fitting the quooker boiling tap ? I like the quooker ones , especially the quooker combi - but not keen on the Frankie range.
Exactly mate.... need to restock to save that bloody trip back to the merchants...
I think the kitchen fitters are doing the tap as they wanted the feed putting in while I was there.
I fitted one of the Bristan ones not long ago and was quite impressed...👍🏼👍🏼
Hi are water filters quite common down south? We very rarely fit them in Scotland. Mainly commercial properties.
Unfortunately yes as the water is so bad.... you are blessed up there with great water
Great content Mark! The Wrekin water filter, could I fit one of these to main water pipe coming into my house? DIYer so your content is fantastic.
Thanks mate, yes they can be fitted like that no problem
more vids . Leaning loads cheers !!
Thanks mate...👍🏼👍🏼
You do get a flange adapter, converts the euro flat flange to UK spigot seal.
I always keep one in my plumbing box.
If only I had a pound for every person who has said that.....
And I usually have a few on the van, but I had not replaced them..🙈
@@MJTiffPlumbing been there too, best one is when u get a blanco kit with euro spigot and you discover that you didn't have one lol.
Weirdly they pop up in bargain bins on occasion. I usually stick up then.
Great video Mark, keep them coming. Have you got link for tile drill bits on ebay also why are you buying your scuffs work trousers from?
Thanks Miles.
Cheers mate, scruffs are from screwfix and the tile bits i will try and find the link mate
Nice work clean but I would like a Bypass under the filter in case of failure to be able to circulate the wate
Thanks mate
As said in the video there is a bypass built into the filter..👍🏼👍🏼
People moaning about PTFE. Nothing wrong with PTFE. (Disclaimer.. I do use Loctite... but I also use PTFE when it calls for it..)
You do what you do. If you've done something for 10+years and it's worked.. it's worked!
Indeed mate
@@MJTiffPlumbing bloody DickHead Comments! 🤣
Done loads of flush valves never thought to change washer. Fair play you learned me! Are they standard for most valves?
Nope they are fairly specific but I usually keep the common ones on the van or grab some over the counter at my local Plumbase...👍🏼👍🏼
£3 for a washer or £30 for a valve that isn’t needed
M J Tiff Plumbing
Cheers mate. Great vids
No problem fella 👍🏼
You can get waste adapters MCALPINE T12A-F 1½" BSP EU / UK COUPLER
Indeed you can...... however I didn’t have one on the van, hence the rant...
Its a Wren kitchens and those temporary sinks are headache but usually they are sendng whole waste complect and adapters with it. Next time ask fitters to leave all plumbing components in sink unit.
Yep it’s a Wren kitchen......
The fitters hadn’t left anything on site hence the hassle, I did have a look round. Just a right pain!!!!
I got similar filters in my house but it's a bank of 3 in a purpose made bracket all supplied in the kit wonder why I've ended up with 3 as the rep did the spec
All depends on what you’re moving/treating etc etc.....
@@MJTiffPlumbing must be to maintain flow rates me thinks 🤔
Possibly..... or you have pre filters??.... great setup by the sounds of it 👍🏼👍🏼
Stanley knife round the inside of those strainers and it’ll fit the MacAlpine trap 👌🏻.. nice vid mate!
I very nearly did Tom.... but can you imagine the RUclips mafia coming down on me.....
I would wake up with a horses head in my bed...🤣🤣
@@MJTiffPlumbing embrace the hate
Hahaaa...... deffo mate
Theres a little adaptor they do in screwfix and toolstation called a spigot adaptor which u put on to the waste and bottom goes onto the trap
Get yourself a little squirty bottle mate to squirt your fittings then wipe them down with a rag saves a lot of time when soldering a lot of fittings. I love watching your videos a great watch 👍🏼
Had the same problem, you can buy collars now to fit on those wastes, shouldn’t have to but......
Yep… as you say shouldn’t have to but we have too 🤣🤦🏼♂️
I use locktite 55 all the time and never use ptfe. When you use the locktite on brass connections get a spanner and run it across the thread all around, it cuts the locktite when screwing the connection in and hold even better other wise while screwing the connection in it will just slide out.
Nice tip buddy... will give it a go... thanks
👍
👍🏼👍🏼
Good watch mate & nice job, you won’t use PTFE again after using locktite 55
Thanks mate..... apparently not... we will see 👍🏼👍🏼
Yeah loctite is the dogs. 👍
Dunno if this is a good tip or what but if you take the washer off the top of the standard macalpine trap you can file the sort of ‘tapered’ bit down to the size of the euro waste basket and the washer will still sit back in
Thats my normal procedure anyway and havent had an issue, cba with running off to get waste adapters and shit
Yer I know what you mean... and I have done it before now but wanted to show just how it is when we come across annoying things like this..
Hi mate, yet another great video!! Is there any chance of doing a video on " quoting for jobs" to be honest I haven't got a clue how to price up jobs as I'm just returning to the industry. Cheers mate!
thanks mate....i will see what i can do
@@MJTiffPlumbing Cheers mate !
I use those plastic adapters a lot on catering kitchen wastes, been to many that are leaking as the last engineer has cut a mc alpine spigot trap flush, thinking it will seal.....they don't.
Yep I usually have some in the van for just this bloody thing.... pain in the arse
Why are uk suppliers supplying us with crap stuff that needs an adapter ? Really does try your patience at times. Taps sometimes come with odd ball flexis instead of half inch another bloody annoyance. Toilets rocking up with oval waste outlets ,cheap traps supplied with shower trays that jump the threads, why ? How about a bit of quality control. Best one is the old quality checked sticker, that means absolutely f all.
Completely agree 100% mate..... really boils my head at times...
Maybe I should start outing them in my videos🤣
@@MJTiffPlumbing A lot of the stuff we buy isn’t cheap and should be up to scratch. I think most people who are in the game have probably learnt the hard way and found products they have faith in. Trouble is when the customer is supplying stuff and trying to get a bargain. The amount of time you can spend trying to rectify some of this cheap tat is mind blowing. If you can’t solve problems and have no patience, stay away from plumbing because it can certainly try you out. Especially on a Friday.
So true mate, i have refused to fit stuff that people have got off the internet etc before as I know it’s just a headache waiting to happen. Then when you say they need more bits to make it work they think YOUR trying to have them over.....
Never used locktite 55 myself, I wonder if it’s worth the hype
I will be able to tell you soon enough 🤣🤣
@@MJTiffPlumbing i look forward to hearing the good or bad news in the next video 🤣
Hahahaa..... I’m on it..😉
u should have put a bigger filter or the 3 way cause the whole home is filterd and they will be changing filters ever so often with the bigger ones u get more run time also compensate for pressure drop
I’ve fitted these for years buddy, they last around 18months with zero pressure loss. Thanks for watching 👍🏼👍🏼
Those waste fittings that traps wont go on are hated by all 👍🤓👍
Yep.... Bain of our lives!!!!!....
Most waste kits that come with the sink have an adaptor you can use , not that you should have to the trap should fit
This one didn’t...
I usually have a few on the van but Sod’s law I hadn’t replaced them
what was the advantge of the water filter?
Filters the water 🤦🏻♂️
@@MJTiffPlumbing theres about 50 different filters on the wreakin site so all a bit confusing.
Mate keep a few spare T12A-F adaptors on your van I get a lot of them wastes pain in the arse!
Usually have a few but ran out.... what a pain
Nice tidy job gain, those rouge waste fittings from our continental friends are always fun. NOT. Keep them coming.👍
Thanks Peter...👍🏼👍🏼...... So annoying
Yep trap not fitting is a pain mcalpine do an adapter t12af
Yer I need to have a couple in reserve on the van
Mcalpine stuff just works every time, never bother with the cheap shit it will always either test your patients or cost you when it leaks.
You didn't need change the waste. Use a short 1 1/2" waste coupler T12A-F
I know that...... but when you haven’t got one and can’t get one a change of waste was needed this time 👍🏼👍🏼
European traps do not have something entering in the waste. Same problems with waste brought from Italy. You need 1 or 2 adaptor or file down the edge of the trap. If they get continental waste they also need to buy continental trap
No problem here mate, just adapt it….. real world plumbing
The thing is ptfe tape works perfect why bother with loctite 55
Indeed mate..... but thought I would see what all the fuss is about
Did that bit of filler underneath sink look like a skull
☠️☠️
Does toilet water really need filtered water?
If you think about that question it’s completely floored with this set up buddy😉👍🏼
@MJTiffPlumbing I want to get this, but I lack the understanding of all the pipes. Does this provide the filtered water to toilets and hose pipe as well ? Personally I want to avoid it as it seems a waste of filtering.
If you put a whole house filtration unit on your incoming mate….. the whole has is filtered.
To NOT filter the toilets and outside tap you would have to completely repipe your house to those points…… why would you do that?…. Complete waste of time and huge amount of cost
Having filtered water going to the toilet has zero effect…. Infact would be better to stop any limescale build up. Same with the outside tap…
Cracking video, next ya be polishing up ya pipes like someone else lol 🔥🔫
Hahaaaa.... thanks mate
wren kitchen sink wastes are terrible for that blanco stuff too might as well not send a waste at all
Completey agree
You don't sand the pipe ?
What you mean mate??
@@MJTiffPlumbing In the US. We clean ie sand the pipe with emery cloth. Wire brush the fittings. Before flux and solder
@@MJTiffPlumbing ffw to 5:15
ruclips.net/video/pKq3Km4Kc9o/видео.html
Got ya..... when the pipe is clean you don’t need to with LaCo flux that I use. If it’s painted then I would be cleaning it 👍🏼👍🏼
Quick get out of jail card you can cut the top ridge off the trap but leave just enough to hold washer in place
Yep..... I did think that as it’s a temporary sink but you just know it’s gonna piss out 🤣🤣
I effin hate them wastes, usually comes with Italian sinks.
Yep... you feel my pain
I wish my boss would get us a wet vac, it's so annoying trying to solder and all you see is steam.
Literally £45 from Screwfix and saves SO much time....
@@MJTiffPlumbing I've been dropping hints that he should get one for a while, he's a bit of a tight arse when it comes to buying new tools.
@@bullshittin Tell him hes been shamed on youtube for not having a wetvac......
Honestly mate, makes life alot easier
Unfortunately that cartridge will last all but 5 minutes, tidy job though
I’ve fitted them for years mate... they last around 18 months in a normal family home.... as per advertised..but thanks for watching👍🏼
Yes "normal" is what we want to watch . And "yes" a world full of corroded cheap isolating valves everywhere you look.
Thanks mate
