I happened upon a comment of yours under a snow patrol video aptly named ‘don’t give in’ and curiosity led me to your channel. I binge watched your videos and I just wanted to say your story has humbled me in a way that makes me appreciate my health and value my life so much more. I find myself thinking of you and telling myself to cop on when I’m complaining about something trivial. This is a gift you have given me and I am eternally grateful. Unfortunately two close friends of mine have been diagnosed with terminal cancer and you along with them are in my thoughts and prayers every single day. You Dan are an inspiration and we are all rooting for you xx

My former mother in law went through chemo for colon cancer. She never lost one hair on her head, nor did she lose any weight. I've read comments that Dan looks a little too good for what he's going through. I can attest that every person going through chemo does NOT react the same. Good going Dan! Stay strong man!
Gatwiri: I hope you are doing better. It's as infuriating as what is termed "invisible disability". There are many, many disabilities that do not present immediately either. I honestly don't know what images some people have in their head regarding someone's illness. Are people with cancer supposed to look a certain way? It's just ignorance.
JillyBeans: Funny you say that. My Mom also went through chemo, and she really didn't lose hair. Also, she was heavy back then, but it didn't really make her lose weight. Or, if she lost any, she either put back on, or it was so subtle that you couldn't even tell. Not that she is gigantic, but she's a "little" (as she used to say) "more loveable than other women". So, yes, it is very particular to the person.

I've recently seen somebody with cancer pass away and they got very skinny over the past 7 weeks. People need to understand that you and your team know best. And not all cancer patients look like cancer patients. My moms first chemo didn’t cause hair loss at all, yet it was the much stronger chemo for her cancer than the second or third which both caused hair loss. Never feel obligated to tell us anything you don’t want to, I know myself and probably many others are so appreciative of the videos you put out and the details you DO give, just so we can see into your experience. You are such a beautiful soul❤️

Dan, as an FD we see so many young people dying of cancer. Last month we had four teenagers who passed from cancer at our Funeral Home. Very sad especially for the parents of these young people. You are a real fighter in my eyes and definitely someone to look up to. Keep pushing as long as you can.....................................J

Today I want to say thank you for your honesty and clarity. Besides being called by your proper name, is there anything more your subscribers can do or understand? Because you are so good looking and don't cut the picture of what one thinks of with chemo, i imagine that the compliments can be contrary to how you feel. I totally respect your privacy and that you don't want to share literally everything. I subbed to you back a little over a year ago when my dad had colon cancer. He passed away last june and what that taught me is that hope in general is good but false overly optimistic hope is bad. We just have to make the most of the life we have and keep on keeping on really. Some day down the road there will probably be some flintstone chewable gummy bear cure for cancer we can only hope

Being a cancer servicer for 2 years now I have to say your my hero, the way you fight is unbelievable, i wanted to give up when I heard that I had cancer but my mother wouldn't let me, my poor mom nagged and nagged me too look for a doctor to except my Insurance and after a 7 month search I found one and a few months later had my surgery, when I was in the hospital fighting my fight my mom passed away, I couldn't be with her, I don't have your strength and with Obama's insurance I won't be fighting again because doctors don't like taking the insurance I'm forced to have that and I've been sick my whole life and my mom needs me, I'll keep you in my heart and prayers and never give up the fight.

I just want to say that you are an amazing human being!!! I have been REALLY struggling with depression, and one day, I came across one of your videos and was blown away! I was literally just wanting the days to hurry and be over. I am so ashamed and embarrassed to even say that now. After I watched you, and saw how hard, and how determined you were to live, I completely broke down! It’s almost as if you were wishing for the time to slow down, and I was wishing for them to hurry and be over. And just the thought of you fighting so hard to live absolutely amazed me!!! I think you are a very positive and brave person. I can't imagine feeling sick all the time and yet still eating every couple of hours so your body gets the nourishment it needs to carry on. Hello Dan, Been following your battle for some time now, my heart aches for you. First time I’ve commented directly to you. Your young enough to be my son and that is heart breaking as my son passed at 14yrs. I’d of taken his place without question and suffered pain a 1000 times more as a price. I’m sure your mum feels the same, I know she is dying inside and her heart is being ripped to the core, I want to send much love to her. I’m always reading others comments, you truly have some beautiful people that are caring and heartfelt for you. With what your are going through is just terrible, your sharing much of what your going through and many of these good hearted people are crying and sharing your pain, I hope you can at some time find it in your strength to reply to some of these. When my time comes to face a big battle, I'm going to remember your attitude, as well as my mum and dads, mum is a relentless fighter, dad was only given a month and he had no chance, but he was so grateful for the life he had, he went a very happy man, even though he was too young. Mum lost a little hope recently after a siezure and that was the saddest thing I've ever seen, but I think she's bouncing back, hanging on to see her granddaughter born, she'll never quit until the last breath. You're so strong, I love watching your uploads.

I happened upon a comment of yours under a snow patrol video aptly named ‘don’t give in’ and curiosity led me to your channel. I binge watched your videos and I just wanted to say your story has humbled me in a way that makes me appreciate my health and value my life so much more. I find myself thinking of you and telling myself to cop on when I’m complaining about something trivial. This is a gift you have given me and I am eternally grateful. Unfortunately two close friends of mine have been diagnosed with terminal cancer and you along with them are in my thoughts and prayers every single day. You Dan are an inspiration and we are all rooting for you xx
you're such an inspiration, not because you were diagnosed with cancer ( that can happen to anyone ) but the fact you are so brave and still put others ahead of yourself while having to deal with this disease is incredible
My former mother in law went through chemo for colon cancer. She never lost one hair on her head, nor did she lose any weight. I've read comments that Dan looks a little too good for what he's going through. I can attest that every person going through chemo does NOT react the same. Good going Dan! Stay strong man!

Gatwiri: I hope you are doing better. It's as infuriating as what is termed "invisible disability". There are many, many disabilities that do not present immediately either. I honestly don't know what images some people have in their head regarding someone's illness. Are people with cancer supposed to look a certain way? It's just ignorance.

Funny you say that. My Mom also went through chemo, and she really didn't lose hair. Also, she was heavy back then, but it didn't really make her lose weight. Or, if she lost any, she either put back on, or it was so subtle that you couldn't even tell. Not that she is gigantic, but she's a "little" (as she used to say) "more loveable than other women". So, yes, it is very particular to the person.

I just wanted to say thanks again for making these videos dude, I feel like this could have just been a purely personal vlog series but it feels like you've put a lot of thought into making something that has a lot of value for the rest of the world and to me you're an absolute legend for doing that during what must be such a hard time for you. No matter what you did/said you would get views but you've created a resource that's been so informative and nourishing for other people to look at. I only discovered your channel recently but I've been looking at your earlier stuff a lot and I find the stuff you say really interesting and helpful for many of my own anxieties about life and health and stuff. I've recently seen somebody with cancer pass away and they got very skinny over the past 7 weeks. It's great to see that you are refusing to simply let yourself wither away regardless of how sick you feel. Keep up the fight as best you can and I look forward to your next video. People need to understand that you and your team know best. And not all cancer patients look like cancer patients. My moms first chemo didn’t cause hair loss at all, yet it was the much stronger chemo for her cancer than the second or third which both caused hair loss. Never feel obligated to tell us anything you don’t want to, I know myself and probably many others are so appreciative of the videos you put out and the details you DO give, just so we can see into your experience. You are such a beautiful soul❤️

All you do and have done has been very interesting I understand where the curiosity comes from - you’ve been through so much & you tell us all about your findings so some tend to push the line & intrude. Dan, as an FD we see so many young people dying of cancer. Last month we had four teenagers who passed from cancer
at our Funeral Home. Very sad especially for the parents of these young people. You are a real fighter in my eyes and definitely someone to look up to. Keep pushing as long as you can.....................................J

Some times I don't post because what can I add? I can just hit 'like' and you'll get the message of support...or some times I will add a heart. Today I want to say thank you for your honesty and clarity. Besides being called by your proper name, is there anything more your subscribers can do or understand? Because you are so good looking and don't cut the picture of what one thinks of with chemo, i imagine that the compliments can be contrary to how you feel. On the other hand, you seem to have an amazing attitude that makes you different than some undergoing chemo. Hope the tumors respond. Keep up the buhbyes ta tas and keep up the good fight. You really don’t even need to explain yourself but by doing so shows how much respect you have for your followers who genuinely CARE about you and your well being. Keeping particular things private is your personal business and choice and people should completely RESPECT your beliefs, period. I totally respect your privacy and that you don't want to share literally everything. I subbed to you back a little over a year ago when my dad had colon cancer. He passed away last june and what that taught me is that hope in general is good but false overly optimistic hope is bad. We just have to make the most of the life we have and keep on keeping on really. Some day down the road there will probably be some flintstone chewable gummy bear cure for cancer we can only hope

Being a cancer servicer for 2 years now I have to say your my hero, the way you fight is unbelievable, i wanted to give up when I heard that I had cancer but my mother wouldn't let me, my poor mom nagged and nagged me too look for a doctor to except my Insurance and after a 7 month search I found one and a few months later had my surgery, when I was in the hospital fighting my fight my mom passed away, I couldn't be with her, I don't have your strength and with Obama's insurance I won't be fighting again because doctors don't like taking the insurance I'm forced to have that and I've been sick my whole life and my mom needs me, I'll keep you in my heart and prayers and never give up the fight.

I feel sorry for myself because all my boys will be gone. When I watch your videos, I feel like you are God putting me in my place telling to get over myself. I just want to say that you are an amazing human being!!! I have been REALLY struggling with depression, and one day, I came across one of your videos and was blown away! I was literally just wanting the days to hurry and be over. I am so ashamed and embarrassed to even say that now. After I watched you, and saw how hard, and how determined you were to live, I completely broke down! It’s almost as if you were wishing for the time to slow down, and I was wishing for them to hurry and be over. And just the thought of you fighting so hard to live absolutely amazed me!!! You are an incredible, and inspirational man. Keep fighting sweet boy, and I will keep praying!!!

I think you are a very positive and brave person. I can't imagine feeling sick all the time and yet still eating every couple of hours so your body gets the nourishment it needs to carry on. Those individuals who crave every little detail about your life don't really care for you. They only care for drama. Don't pay any attention to them.

Been following your battle for some time now, my heart aches for you.
First time I’ve commented directly to you. Your young enough to be my son and that is heart breaking as my son passed at 14yrs. I’d of taken his place without question and suffered pain a 1000 times more as a price. I’m sure your mum feels the same, I know she is dying inside and her heart is being ripped to the core, I want to send much love to her.
I’m always reading others comments, you truly have some beautiful people that are caring and heartfelt for you. With what your are going through is just terrible, your sharing much of what your going through and many of these good hearted people are crying and sharing your pain, I hope you can at some time find it in your strength to reply to some of these.

When my time comes to face a big battle, I'm going to remember your attitude, as well as my mum and dads, mum is a relentless fighter, dad was only given a month and he had no chance, but he was so grateful for the life he had, he went a very happy man, even though he was too young. Mum lost a little hope recently after a siezure and that was the saddest thing I've ever seen, but I think she's bouncing back, hanging on to see her granddaughter born, she'll never quit until the last breath. You're so strong, I love watching your uploads.
