    You the man, Dan. Chemo is so toxic, it has to be. I was on the stuff for 18 months. It wasn't pretty. Soldier on. You've got a lot of people with you.

    HUGE HUGS again from the USA. I just had a Cancer scare and it came back ok. I do not appreciate life as much as everyone else does, so if I was told I had Terminal Cancer I would only ask for pain medication to get me to the last day and nothing else. I do not really enjoy life. You must really enjoy life and I wish I was just like you because you are freaking incredible. WE LOVE YOU HERE IN THE STATES..

I smile out of admiration for your amazing spirit and tenacity in fighting this rotten plague called cancer. I pray ur scan shows smaller tumors, I hope ur side effects lesson and b sure to wear ur mask! Oh, how I hated wearing those. But the low wbc counts leave one so vulnerable to infections. Hey dan , im so sorry your finding your chemo so rough 🙁 please keep an eye on your sickness , if its so forcefull and very frequent it could tear your oesophagus ( im a nurse practitioner and work in palliative care) im glad your going to hospital when needed but im so sorry your even going through this , my heart goes out to you but i just wanted to say i think you have amazing courage and an amazing attitude , in late 2016 i myself was diagnosed with bladder cancer , so from a person who has been there with how rough the treatment makes u feel i think your doing amazing , all the research and documentation of how your doing will im sure go on to help so many others . You are truly a very brave soul and i think your parents are very proud of you , much love xx

    I know how bad the chemo sickness can be, as I went through it with my dad. It's absolutely awful! 🤢
    His potassium levels kept dropping (which can cause heart problems). I wasn't warned that could be a problem, and I got him into hospital quickly (thankfully!)
    Hope the sickness gets better for you.

So, so sorry you are going through this at the moment. Also, back to back medical appointments are stressful in themself, cos you have to psych yourself up to go, even if you feel like sh*t. Good luck with the scan and I hope you have a great time at the gig and are able to conserve your energy for that one. All the best

    Hi Dan. I haven’t heard you mention the name of the pain medication you are taking. I tried all sorts of pills. The last one I tried was morphine. Boy did that screw me up. Then my doctor suggested a fentanyl patch. That has proven to be effective, though I still have breakout pain. I wear the patch all the time, changing it every 3rd day. Just thought I’d mention it in case you are still having a lot of pain. Based on what you said I think you are experiencing a lot of pain. Dan, you are one of the loveliest and bravest people I have ever seen!! My heart aches seeing you like this. Please know you have oodles of people praying and rooting for you.

    Dan or anyone else can answer this question, but how long can chemo prolong his life? I ask because I wonder if it’s worth it to go through so much sickness from chemo, rather than move forward and live life to the fullest with the time left, without the horrific symptoms chemo gives every day ya know. I don’t know, I’m new to the channel, but man my heart breaks for him and his family. I admire the determination and the purpose behind documenting it all, boy do I, it’s just hard to watch someone that seems like a genuinely good human being go through this. 😞

    • @rubyjean5102
      @rubyjean5102 6 лет назад

      Angela Crevier It's different for every person. Sometimes chemo works really well and other times it may have no effect at all. His doctors will run tests to determine this. He said in previous videos that the doctors predicted two weeks of him still feeling ok before his health declined dramatically. That's when he started chemo as his last option.
      He obviously feels that it's worth it for him

    • @angie8232
      @angie8232 6 лет назад

      Ruby Jean Oh ok that makes sense. And I totally understand trying every possible option, it’s just so sad to see him suffering through chemo when I’m getting the impression it’s not working for his particular cancer. 😞 I hope by some miracle this chemo works for him because he’s a good soul, with the most positive but real outlook on life, he deserves to live through this.

    I am sorry Dan! That is why I mentioned quality, over quantity. My Mom went through chemo, as-well-as my late mother-in-law. My Mom survived thank God, but my mother-in-law only a few months, & she was on chemo as well. I also worked for a Hospice, and we stressed quality of a person's life.
    I know it is not fun being sick all of the time.

    • @Timeflyer2
      @Timeflyer2 6 лет назад +2

      You are so right about quality over quantity. When my mother-in-law was told that she was terminal I begged her to contact Hospice. Her experience with them was so much better than other relatives who chose dying in hospital. Hospice afforded her better pain relief and control over side effects. Also, the family counseling and practical help was excellent. Also, I am so glad that I live in Vermont. It is one of a handful of states that has a Right to Life law. This enables someone who is terminal the choice to end their life once their quality of life has severely degraded. This is the route I will choose if I am facing cancer or any other illness that involves intense end-of-life pain and suffering. Another issue that crops up so often is the expectation that others have that everyone needs to fight when they are in a terminal situation. I had a girlfriend with breast cancer who accepted she was terminal and planned her funeral and said goodbye to everyone. She got so much flack for not "fighting." Not everyone is a warrior.

      Timeflyer2 I'm sure your comments are meant well but this is Dan's own personal decision. He needs our support not suggestions of what to do or not do. It's his life.

    • @Timeflyer2
      @Timeflyer2 6 лет назад +3

      Jan Warriner : I was in no way suggesting anything for Dan. I was responding to History Lover's comments with examples of how things have played out in my own experiences and my how I would handle things for myself. This was a side discussion. I am 66-years-old and would not expect that someone young as Dan should emulate someone of my age. If I have offended anyone, I deeply apologize.

    • @janwarriner5037
      @janwarriner5037 6 лет назад

      Timeflyer2 Glad you understood my concern. Dan may read each and every side comment too. I'm older than you but having had the experience with my mother when she was age 60 and caring for her thru her terminal illness I learned that sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all. We are all going to die and someone young like Dan I feel just needs our loving support. No mention of the future or what our opinion/experience is. Only today, which is all any of us really have. I knew you meant well but...its psychological.

    The fatigue is so much a part of this. I am more concerned about the vomiting and diarrhea. Try phenergan or Compazine suppositories to help.

    So they have home health in the UK like we do in the states? I'm not sure why you dont have a permanent port in. If you did, you could get antiemetics and fluids through your port everyday, at home. Plus you wouldn't need iv sticks for your chemo everytime. Both would help a lot.

    • @Guiny
      @Guiny 6 лет назад +1

      Melissa Johnson We do have home health in the United Kingdom but there are a lot of things which change and there’s lots of Choices, also greetings from the uk!

      Guiny I hope he brings it up to his doctors. With vomiting like he has some fluids would do him some good. It could also give him more options for meds to help the nausea and vomiting. ❤

      I did wonder about a picc line or port myself. I have not been a nurse in England for so long I think in American and then return to England and nursing there. There are some differences. Especially wondering whether the insurance is going to cover it or not!

    • @melissajohnson2935
      @melissajohnson2935 6 лет назад +3

      Samantha Speaks I don't think that anyone that will be needing to be stuck by needles multiple times over a long period of time would not chose to have a have a permanent port put in, if they are given the option. I've noticed on several other youtubers documenting their cancer, that are from the UK, so not have ports placed either. So I'm assuming it's just the way it's done there. Probably because it does require monitoring and maintenance and possibly the NHS see's it as an unnecessary expense. I'm not drowning the NHS, just wondering why. Here in the states, if you're expected to be hospitalized for more than a few days and will be needing iv medications and multiple blood draws, they will give you the option to have a PICC line placed because it eliminates needle sticks.

It can be health, unemployment, divorce, death of a loved one, fighting for your life,...But even at your hardest moments you, Dan are still positive and want to LIVE. Sometimes is hard for me to live, but you are my guide that you never give up, no matter how hard it is. You always find light in the darkness. Take care handsome.

    Dan. I’ve said this so many times, you are simply amazing 😉
    Taking the time to sit down and chat about details of your health when you are clearly feeling sick. Always thinking of others, and ensuring you share and document your experiences with your battle with cancer.
    This independent vlog for your parents is such a brilliant idea, as is the diary vlog chair setup for yourself.
    Please never feel you need to spend a lot of time editing and location wise for us. We just want to check in with you and see how you are, we don’t expect bells and whistles 😘😘😘

    It’s not nice that you are suffering the side effects of chemotherapy. Try eating ginger biscuits. Apparently they work for morning sickness. And nausea in general. Some thing too do with the ginger. Where are your mum and dads v logs going ? Your website, on here ? Or have they started their own RUclips channels ? You need to rest. And keep yourself hydrated..
