    I saw people said that don't buy under 10th gen but like for me i wanna play in low to medium settings eSports should i buy these pc specs?

    • @BenchmarkEnthusiast

      If you wanna play Esports games, you need a powerful CPU. Esports games mainly use CPU, so you can buy a 4th gen i7 instead and a GTX 1050 or something more powerful like GTX 1050 TI. Make sure you have your operating system and the game(s) installed on a SSD. That's all you really need.
      Of course a 12th gen i3 will be multiple times better, but a 4th gen i7 will be more than enough to make your gameplay enjoyable. Same goes for GPU. But whenever I get asked to build an Esports Gaming PC, I suggest everyone an i7 4770 + GTX 1050 TI. Systems with this configuration happened to be trending in my area, hence why I build them so often.

      @@BenchmarkEnthusiastcan this combo handle 165hz monitor? or only 60hz 100hz?

    • @BenchmarkEnthusiast
      @BenchmarkEnthusiast  5 месяцев назад

      @@xvoidplayz There's no short answer to this. In-game FPS doesn't have to be as high as the monitor's refresh rate. Monitor's high refresh rate will do its job anyway. It will still refresh 30 FPS the same way as 165 FPS. It will still give you 165Hz refresh rate at low FPS.
      If you're asking if this combo can achieve 60, 100 or 165 FPS, then most likely no. This is an extremely weak combo in 2024. It is meant to play most games at 60 FPS. You need a really powerful processor, at least an i5-12400F to have 144+ FPS in games and have a smooth experience. You will also need a decent GPU.
      144 Hz or higher is the standard today, so you can get that monitor anyway if you want to. But make sure to upgrade your PC 'cause this combo is really weak and will never give you 100+ FPS in games. It can't even run most modern games like Cyberpunk or Starfield.

      @BenchmarkEnthusiast  7 месяцев назад

      @@DeprivedofZZZ That's true, but you're allowed to do that once and if I remember it right, you can't refund after 2 weeks or so. There had been a change on this recently cause people have been abusing this feature a lot. Besides, testing a game once won't really benefit me in the long run. I wanna own each game and be able to test it on other PCs as well.

    • @BenchmarkEnthusiast
      @BenchmarkEnthusiast  9 месяцев назад +1

      I never measured power consumption. The GPU draws around 65W, the CPU draws around 77W, the motherboard should draw around 25W. I would say 150-200W in total.

    how about gtx 1050 ti, is it bottleneck? or rx550

    • @BenchmarkEnthusiast
      @BenchmarkEnthusiast  6 месяцев назад

      i5 4590 is already too weak to be considered a gaming CPU. If I had a chance, I would upgrade it with i7 4770 or 4790 and then think about upgrading a GPU later.
      GTX 1050 TI is more powerful and it will be bottlenecked by this CPU even more. RX 550 is alright, it's like GTX 750 TI iirc, it's fine for this CPU, but all of this hardware is too weak for today's gaming. It'll be difficult to play games.

      @@BenchmarkEnthusiast i haven't gpu for now. should i buy gpu or upgrade cpu to i7 4790 first?

    • @BenchmarkEnthusiast
      @BenchmarkEnthusiast  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@chickenayammqnuk If you have a 4th gen i5, you should buy a CPU if you play CPU-heavy games like Valorant, CS2, Fortnite etc. RPG AAA games like Witcher 3, Tomb Raider etc use mostly GPU, so in this case it's better to buy a GPU first.
      When I build PCs, I usually suggest people 4th gen i7 and a GTX 1050 TI with 16GB RAM for the most budget builds.
      But make sure you have a 4th gen motherboard. If your PSU has a 6 or 8pin power cable for a GPU, you can get even better GPU. It all depends on what you have at the moment so that you can make the best purchase with the least amount of money and effort.

    • @BenchmarkEnthusiast
      @BenchmarkEnthusiast  6 месяцев назад

      @@chickenayammqnuk All of the games you mentioned are CPU-focused games. I suggest upgrading the CPU. i5 4590 is fine with 1050 TI, but it depends on what GPU you have right now. If you have 750 TI, or anything better than that, I wouldn't upgrade the GPU. You will most definitely see an improvement by upgrading the CPU in this case.
      i7 4790 + GTX 1050 TI PC will use around 150-200W, so any 300W or better PSU will be enough.
