i7 3770 + RX 580 8GB (2048SP) - Test In 16 Games

- Testing this budget gaming PC in 16 games. I gotta say, there's a big difference between this system and the i7 4770 one. i7 3770 can bottleneck this GPU quite a bit in many games, but for its budget, it'll do. A lot of people like using this exact combo of hardware, so I thought I'd build a PC like this as well and see how it performs. Overall conclusion: Not impressed.

Is there any bottleneck you’ve experienced on this build? Or could you recommend perfect combination for rx 580 without any bottleneck?
Generally, i3-10100F (or non-F) is the cheapest CPU that everyone should have today in my opinion. This build doesn't really let the GPU show its full power, there's a slight bottleneck here.
i3-12100F is my recommendation.
i3-10100F is my cheapest recommendation.
or Ryzen 5 5500 if this CPU is $90 or cheaper.
Hey there, if we try a z77 extreme motherboard and an nvme m2 chip, then will it give better results ?
Motherboards or M.2 NVMe SSDs on their own don't give better performance. That motherboard will allow you to overclock your hardware and the M.2 SSD will let you do tasks faster, but that's about it. There's no FPS gain.
thanks for this video, im making my first pc and it has this specs, only that the i7 3770 is the model "K"
that just means it's faster so don't worry
Not only is it faster but you can also use it's integrated graphics temporarily if your gpu breaks, or use it for a second monitor. Also i do not recommend this CPU in 2023 at all.
@@blase1856 well some people are broke and for the price it isn't that bad
@@blase1856 most people who are getting these old CPU and GPUs are those who are trying to find a budget option while having a pretty good performance. Sure it's not really future proof, but it's still a pretty good and cheap option.
@@itswumremember you can overclock it to like 4.7GHz
Have you tested it on linux as well? I have noticed when i switched to popos, games that either didn't flat out work or ran slowly worked and ran great, and i contributed it mainly to linux's cpu usage being less than windows.
I've never seen or worked with any other operating system besides Windows, so I have no idea at all.
just watched 2 videos on youtube about a 16 gb version of this card! I am actually looking for getting a pc for content creation i.e video editing in 1080p,4k and using blender. I guess the 16gb version would do good in Blender. Kindly share your thoughts on this.
When it comes to editing, don't pick anything older than 6000 series AMD card. People that I've talked to and based on the stuff I've read on the internet plus on my cousin's experience, a lot of people are not satisfied with AMD GPUs when it comes to editing and content creation.
I've always used Nvidia GPUs. For me, for my cousin and for the majority of the users, Nvidia GPUs have always worked better than AMD ones in editing and content creation.
Don't get distracted by pure stats on that RX 580 2048SP 16GB, cause they're really good. Real-life experience will be mediocre at best. The best choice for editing & content creation is the latest Nvidia GPU. The more modern the GPU architecture is, the better it will do its job, but it doesn't matter as much if the GPU is strong or not, you care about the modern architecture more, it does the encoding (handling the rendering, recording and streaming) better, so you should go with the most modern Nvidia GPU you can get, but it can be the cheapest one, like RTX 3050 for example, or a 2060.
If you wanna get something cheaper, get a GDDR6 model of GTX 1650 or 1660. If you're on tighter budget than that, don't get anything older than GTX 10 series. We are getting closer and closer to GTX 10 series GPUs losing support for drivers, so in an ideal situation don't get anything older than GTX 1650.
Como você fez pra atualizar codificador de 4g oq vc fez pra ficar com tanto fps mnw
Can I reach 60 plus fps with your specs in resident evil 4 remake. I mean which option will have a major effect to let it go above 60 fps.
Shadow quality generally puts a really high stress on the GPU. But that's something you can test in the game yourself, the demo version is free, so you can enter the game, mess with the settings and see how much visual effects you wanna sacrifice to achieve the desired "60 FPS" that you wanna have in the game.
hey bro ..i loves ur video ..i have a quick question ..is paladn rx 580 4gb worth to but for 720p gaming with i3 10100
I think it's worth it. If the price is okay for you, I think you should buy it. It will be quite decent for 720p gaming, especially with that CPU.
I dont have enough money for a good CPU, so i will buy this set, i want to play F1 23, RE4 remake, PES 23 and some stuff
Would adding an additional 16 gb of ram make much of a difference?
Few bigger benchmarking channels have tested this. TLDR: It doesn't. But 32GBs of RAM is becoming the standard now. Games and apps keep wanting more and more RAM, so it's more of a "if you're getting a new system, might as well get 32GBs" thing rather than whether you need it or not, but once you open browser, discord and many other apps along with your game, you will need more RAM.
i literally have 190 fps on ultra nightmare 1080p.. RX 580 sapphire nitro 8gb
Hello, I have the h61m motherboard and the maximum it supports is that i7 3770, 16 ram 1600 mhz and a good graphics, can I use the update? I currently have an i5 2310 and a gt 1030, it doesn't perform at all
i7 3770, 16GB RAM and a better GPU will help. But I recommend getting a modern system if you can, like: Ryzen 5 7500F, i3-12100F, i5-10400F, Ryzen 5 5500 or something like that. You also need a GPU upgrade.
Another option is to get a modern CPU with an integrated graphics, like Ryzen 5 8600G or better.
This will cost you a lot more, but earlier you move from an old system, the better it will be. So I recommend saving money and getting at least i3-10100F at the very least with H410 motherboard. Then get whichever GPU you can afford. I recommend RTX 2060 (used).
friend, on 1360 x 768 resolution with ultra graphics can increase fps?
I wanted to know if RX 580 and compatible on ASUS motherboard B75M-A?? thanks for the video😉
Generally, every GPU works with every motherboard, there are no incompatibilities for a GPU (altho there can be a few exceptions). Lower the resolution is, higher the FPS will be. In your case, it might be worse and you might lose FPS.
Any processor that you can put in your motherboard will be too weak for the GPU. Lower resolution stresses the CPU, higher resolution stresses the GPU. When your CPU is too weak for the GPU to begin with, having lower than FHD resolution will put even more stress onto the CPU and you'll have even bigger of a bottleneck due to the CPU being too weak and the GPU being too powerful in this case.
is it normal for this GPU fan loud at 3xxx rpm? or is it my GPU only? Temperature while gaming for me 81-83 degree celcius
Generally, RX 580 temperature should be around 65-75c degrees while the fan RPM is 1200-2000, depends on the model.
3000+ RPM is too much. 83c degrees is too much. Your GPU needs either cleaning or change of thermal paste. Also, consider that there might not be enough airflow in your case, which is usually the cause of high temperatures.
Should i go for I5 6th gen or i7 3rd gen with rx580?
Honestly, neither. I don't recommend anything below 10th gen i3, or at least 4th gen i7.
If I had to choose, I'd go for 3rd gen i7 in your case. It's a more powerful CPU. If you're worried about future upgrades, then this decision is still better. You'll be better off selling this stuff in a year or two to get a modern i3 instead. But I really wanna advise you to go for 10th gen i3 if u can, or 12th gen i3 in the best case scenario.
Hi . Is motherboard asus h61 good as ga h61 for game and i7 3770?
Hi, yes.
Bro, What is intel core i7 3770 process max varient price in online and offline both? Approx in Rupees Will it work in H261 or H264 Motherboard?
I've never heard of those motherboards, seems like they are server boards and completely different sockets. If you want an approximate pricing of something, I suggest checking Ebay for it and converting dollars into rupees to get your pricing.
can you test Persona 5 Strikers with the same specs of this video?
I cannot. I don't own the game. Also, I don't own this PC anymore. The PCs and hardware that I test are the ones that I build for customers. So neither the GPU nor the CPU is with me anymore.
And let’s keep in mind he is also recording! Recording usually makes fps drop by 40% si having a 3rd generation i7 withoht recording with many of the games like gta 5 you will get over 100 fps. Just a quick tip 🤷🏽♂️
This is quite wrong. I've tested recording on 100 or more computers, worst case scenario was in game(s) where there the game uses mostly CPU and so does the recording software, FPS drop was around 10% there.
With the right setup, no other apps running, fresh install and having the same exact benchmark run multiple times over and over, you'll have as low as no FPS drop sometimes, or 2% drop in worst case scenarios still.
example: If I have 100 FPS in a game and I get 95 (that's 5%) FPS drop cause of recording, you have to take into consideration that most users don't have fresh windows installs, most of them don't turn off every single app while playing games and most users' computers aren't perfectly well utilized. So speaking from my personal experience, the FPS you see in this video will be higher than what most people will get in their games if they run the exact same benchmark(s).

What is your raid fps in wow?
I have an og RX 580 @1411 mhz and and X5650 @ 4 Ghz (similiar to I7 2600) and 16 GB DDR 3 RAM.
Im worrying if this setup can handle dragonflight raids.
I have like 80 + FPS in Orgrimmar, but i saw in benchmarks, that fps can drop significantly in raids.
Raids will be fine. Based on how many people there are in the raids and how many spells are happening at the same time, you'll have somewhere around 60-80 FPS on High or Ultra settings. You can always lower the graphics to have better FPS tho.
Your CPU has more cores and turbos a bit higher if you have it clocked at 4GHz. This game doesn't care if your hardware is old or not, it in fact likes older hardware more. I think it'll be fine.
Thanks for reply!
Im glad to hear that :)
I underestimated my cpu a bit. Wasnt aware it has the same single core performance as an i7 3770 and that this i7 and even the 4770 only have 4 Cores.
Hi, is the 350W power supply enough for this build?
Generally, I'd say most 350W PSUs won't be enough. 500W minimum (where 12V rail has at least 36A, or 450W). This is a power hungry GPU.
I have a i5 7500, 8gb ram rx 580 8gb msi, but i dont how good is it,but, how i can take alls fps and acivate fsr. thanks for the video

Hey brother this video is very good and useful for me❤.I have i7 4th gen and amd radeon rx 570 8gb and it is giving me hardly 45 fps 😢 on witcher 2 assassins of kings. Can you tell me what is the problem here?
I can't diagnose your computer from here, there could be too many things happening. I also have a very limited info on your PC. I can only give you general tips:
- Check the temperature. GPU must be below 83c. CPU must be below 85c.
- Check the drivers.
- Check the resolution, Vsync, Game settings, etc.
- Check what other programs are running in the background.
I also haven't tested that GPU in that game, so I have no reference at all as to how it should run.
Can rx 480 4gb runs with h61m s2p rev 2.1 without making problems in the future
I can't promise or say anything about a GPU that is discontinued and has no driver support anymore. Only thing I can say that you're not guaranteed to have flawless experience cause of the reasons above.
Can you make a test with this gpu but with a xeon e5 2640 v3 with 16gb ddr4?
I never use server hardware, nor I get any orders for it. We don't use those for gaming in my area at all, so no, I won't be able to test anything like that.

Hi bro how about CPU i3 2Generation can use with 1050ti?
all i3's that are older than 10th gen are too weak for anything nowadays. 2nd gen i3 will not handle a 1050 TI, not even close. You need an i7 in there, 2nd gen, 3rd gen or better.

Your CPU is way too weak. If you upgrade it with an i7-3770, it will be good enough. You can just take out your current CPU and put the i7-3770 in. There are other small things as well, but this will help you out the most.
@@BenchmarkEnthusiast it depends of your goal.

That depends on how good the PSU is. There are models that can reliably provide 450W to the computer, but there are office PSUs that are too weak and won't even have a power cable for the GPU. The difference is like night and day. I have to know which PSU it is, I need to know its model name to answer that question. Monitor's frequency (60 hz) has nothing to do with in-game performance, it's only for your eyes and what you see in real life while sitting at the computer. Whether it's 60 herz or 480 herz, your computer performs the same. Higher the frequency, better visuals and less choppy screen you see.

If you wanna have less choppiness, purchase a monitor with higher refresh rate so that your refresh rate of the monitor is higher than the FPS you're getting in-game.

This is one of the most popular builds, that's why I built it. Glad that this video helped you.
We have the same pc specs bro, can i use 600 watts psu?
You need to check the amps on 12v rail. There will be a label on the side of the PSU, find "12V" there, below or next to it will be something like 35A or 40A or whatever the amount is. Multiple those Amps by 12 and that is how many watts your PSU should be able to provide. If it's more than 450W total, you can use it. But figuring out if a PSU is enough or not, or if it's good enough is always difficult. It's much easier for me to ask you what model is it, look it up on the internet and then tell you.
I found this PSU on the internet, Segotep RP750.

If I get 150 FPS while NOT recording, I'll get 140 if I start recording, that's a significant drop. The benchmarks aren't always the same, sometimes I get more FPS, sometimes I get less. So I rerun the benchmarks multiple times to train the computer and not drop as much FPS anymore. Ideally, I'll get 145 FPS while recording (remember that I'd get 150 if I NOT record). So then I pick the footage that got me the best results, like 146-147 FPS average, that is really close to original 150.
Most PCs are not utilized as well as my PCs that have been deep cleaned or have brand new parts, fresh windows installs and all of the bloatware turned off/uninstalled, no other programs are opened while recording. So an average person would still have less than 150 FPS, more like 145-147, which is exactly what I'll show in these videos.
This is how I show my benchmarks and I think it is as close as it can get to the performance that an average gamer will have if they used the exact same configuration.
@@BenchmarkEnthusiast im planning to get the same configuration as yours, btw what is bloatware?
@@39fromhell69 bloatware is the type of applications that don't necessarily hurt the PC, but they slow it down. they're not needed, but they're there cause certain companies convince the users that they have to have them installed on their PCs.
Also, either get a better CPU (i3-10100F or i7-4770 or better), or a different GPU (GTX 1060 6GB, or GTX 1660 6GB). This combo of the CPU + GPU is not the best. I tested this cause it's trending a bit.
@@BenchmarkEnthusiast can you tell me the name of these applications that are unneeded
@@39fromhell69 It's better to watch a RUclips guide on windows 10 optimization. Check out TechYesCity for it. It's not as straight forward to just uninstall everything that is not needed.
can it run with 550 w psu?
There's never a straight answer to that. This system needs roughly 300 watts. Most power supplies cannot deliver the advertised wattage. Also, the quality is not the same on all power supplies. A power-hungry PSU mostly needs power from the 12V rail. So my answer will be something that's mostly true in most of the times.
To answer your question, it can run with a 550W PSU. Most 550W PSUs will be enough for a system like this. If you want more precise answer, provide the exact model name of your PSU and it'll make things a lot easier.
Why did you not use ddr4 ram
This is a DDR3 system. DDR4 is not compatible with it.
Bro will it bottleneck with i7 3770k version and 16 GB Ram ?
3770k is the exact same as 3770. Only difference is that you can overclock the K model. If you don't overclock it, it will be the exact same as the results you're seeing in the video (slight bottleneck).

i7-4770 and rx 590 8gb will it bottleneck?
No. i7-4770 will handle RX 590 8GB without a problem. Any stronger GPU will get bottlenecked by the CPU however.
@@BenchmarkEnthusiast thanks brother and which country in you living

@@BenchmarkEnthusiast ok 👌
I just built the same setup as this for about 90€
How?
Why my card is performing better than yours i am getting 80 -105 in 1080 high gta v?
It could be that either you have MSAA disabled (off), or you have a regular RX 580. This "2048SP" on this RX 580 means that it's weaker than other RX 580's. 2048SP RX 580's were usually used in mining.
Guys my games always lag and i got the same specs
Is !7-2600 ok with rx580? 😊
No. That CPU is too weak for RX 580. I recommend at least an i7 4770. Ideally, i3 10100F would be the best.
@@BenchmarkEnthusiast what r the best 8gb Vcard for i7-2600 h61 motherboard?
@@jmseva Is there a reason why you look for a GPU with 8GBs of VRAM (graphics memory)?
The thing about i7 2600 CPU is that it's kinda weak for today's standards. There's no GPU with 8GBs of VRAM that i7 2600 will be able to handle comfortably.
I can only suggest RX 570 8GB model. But i7 2600 will still bottleneck it a bit.
@@BenchmarkEnthusiast for nintendo games and apex , kinda lagging
In my build i have the rx 580 8gigs and the intel core i7 vpro and 16 gigs of ddr4 ram so mine is a bit better
GPU utilization is bouncing all over like there is an issue
No, the utilization is stable. MSI afterburner is not reporting it correctly. It has been like that since the GPU's release. No issues.
Something is wrong with your PC. I have now same i7 3770 rx 580 8gb 16gb ram and for example GTA V i have 110-120 FPS when flying Jet at test.
The chances are that you have MSAA disabled (set to "0"). In the benchmark it's set to x4 cause that's the appropriate setting for "High" imo. If I turn that off, I'll have same, if not more FPS.
this "rx 580" really is 570 , in the description said "rx 580 2048"
@@Wanderlust95 correct. I'll add it into the title as well, otherwise it might confuse some people.

The GPU is slightly bottlenecked by the CPU.
Where is Cyberpunk 2077 😢
I didn't own Cyberpunk when I was testing this GPU. So I re-did the tests again in my latest video ruclips.net/video/ArWnLGERkMI/видео.html and included all of the games that I've obtained since this video. Hope this helps.
P.S. The video I linked tests the full capability of the GPU without any bottleneck to see its full potential, that's why I paired it with i5 12400.

This thing runs like a beast on Doom Eternal
Doom Eternal specifically loves AMD GPUs, it has always been like that :) Also, it's the only game where you can actually use Ray Tracing on AMD GPUs. Vulkan runs really well on AMD GPUs. On Nvidia, not so much.
