      Yes it is I treat it like a real life video game (go around the warehouse and find the correct pallets, then load them in, and onto the next.) A simple but fulfilling job where you can feel proud of what you did that day. That’s what made it so fun to me. Plus it made time fly!

    I currently work for DHL Supply chain at a reefer warehouse, and we use Electric Toyota Stand up forklifts. I work 10 hour shifts (6AM-4PM, Mon-Fri and some OT's on the weekends). I can see your single pinwheeling those pallets in the trailer. Whenever I load very big trucks (45 to 60 pallets), depending if they need to be double stacked, most of the time they go in double pin-wheeled if its a 60 pallet truck for a 53 ft trailer. Sometimes when we load the low cube trucks, we have to switch back and forth with the Low Mast lifts to load in the pallets and continue with the larger ones. I'd rather load trucks then unload to be honest.

    • @forkliftjoe3620
      @forkliftjoe3620  Год назад +1

      Same here bro but I don’t want to be the one picking the order. Pin-wheeled 60 pallet tough bro especially if they over hang on pallets. Do y’all ever have over hang freight that’s longer than the 48 size pallet?

    • @Battleaxegunner
      @Battleaxegunner Год назад +2

      @@forkliftjoe3620 It depends if their on white wood heat treated pallets. Most of the time we have the products on PECO pallets.

    It looks like the Amazon Factory I used to work at but when I was a Waterspider in the returns department I had to use the pallet jacks to bring the pallets of ups boxes back to decant and I had to lift the boxes one by one off the pallets and rip them open with a boxcutter to build a pallet with yellow totes and fill the totes with small jiffy bags and boxes and hand them out to the workstations

    Help please. I've driven a forklift before and had no problems but I'm now driving a large closed cab 36,000 lb one and am having an issue. Trainer is honestly a bit of a jerk and is no help. I pick up packs of lumber off a chain conveyor, no pallets. However every time I pull up to grab a pack, my backrest is hitting the pack of lumber before the forks are completely under the pack and I'm not getting the pack all the way to the heel of the forks. I cannot push against the pack to square up because it comes down a set of 4 chains and will roll backwards (To picture this, imagine 4 escalator rails 4 feet apart with chains instead of the rail...this is what the lumber pack comes down).
    Since I have plenty of space beneath me to come up from (about 3 or 4 feet instead of a few inches like the space inside a pallet) will lifting up with my forks tilted back slightly while I'm coming in help to ensure I'm hitting the heel of my fork? I can't think of anything else to do. The reason this is a big deal is bc these packs are 96 in front to back but due to past damage and the forks being ground back, the forks are only about 93 or 93.5. Meaning on packs of boards like 2x4s, if you aren't as far back against the heel as possible then your forks don't pick up the bottom board at the back of the pack. Which is a problem for the stacker operator bc he then has to pick up the board, sometimes 20 ft long, and add it to a pile. Once or twice is OK but doing that all day out in 100⁰ weather and he starts getting ticked off on top of me already being frustrated with myself. Please any ideas or suggestions are much welcome!! And I can explain better if necessary.

    • @forkliftjoe3620
      @forkliftjoe3620  Год назад +2

      Yes if your tilt slightly and have forklifts completely level u should be able to enter cleanly and lift with stability

    • @procrastinator6902
      @procrastinator6902 Год назад +1

      @forkliftjoe3620 That took care of it, thanks. I took a close look at those forks this morning and not only are they short but the last foot or so on them is bent upwards at about a 95⁰ angle instead of a flat 90⁰ so I had been tilting forwards to make the ends level not realizing I was actually tilted at a forward angle. They're also lopsided, left one sits about 3 inches lower than the right. I'm gonna have to talk to management bc they gotta replace those forks! They not only make the job harder but also dangerous.
