Came here to learn about forklife as well because my warehouse role requires it. I'm very surprised though, the version of forklift my warehouse has is different. You stand in a knee bend position, and facing forward by looking on the left side from the cockpit. Your left hand is operating a hand crank that has a knob. You grab on it and rotate it 360° to either turn left or right.
Your right hand is holding a joy stick controller that has switches on top of the stick.
I test drove it and it was extremely difficult unlike this version of forklift in the video.
You don't look ahead of the forklift when driving but by looking on your left shoulder means you are looking at the rear of the forklift. While looking on your right shoulder means you are looking at the front of it.
      Weird style of driving.

And now you have 700k people going around lying about being certified thinking this video is all they need to operate a forklift safely, when forklift-related accidents are already one of the absolute most common causes of death and serious injury in industrial and warehouse-type jobs.
Seriously, this guy has his heart in the right place. He's trying to help people out so they can get jobs. But the reality is that the certification process is there for a reason. Just knowing the controls is not enough to operate a forklift safely, and even if you can fool people into believeing that you're certified when you're not (which any experience forklift operator would be able to spot in an instant just from seeing you drive), you're basically just counting down the days until you make a mistake and kill somebody or yourself because you don't really know what you're doing.

I agree but one of the most important things about forklifts that he left out is the stability triangle. Basically, after you pick something up and are clear to put your forks down, put them down as low as possible. Otherwise you run the risk of tipping over which can lead to death if you don't know what to do when a fork lift tips over.

I’m a supervisor at my job so I hardly ever use a forklift but sometimes when everybody is gone, I need to move a forklift and it’s super easy. I don’t even need to do much with the forks other than raise them off the ground so I can move the forklift. Half the battle will be acting like you know wth you’re doing. My first time I just sat on the forklift and just figured it out.
I sat down saw a key in the ignition so I turned it on. Messed with the fork handles to right and thought okay, these aren’t making me move. I saw an emergency brake to the left of the steering wheel so I disengaged the brake. It didn’t move when I hit the gas so I kept looking around. Next step was just putting the thing in drive and I was ready to go. The lever for putting a forklift into drive, park or reverse, is to the left of the steering wheel too, in the same spot as a blinker/high beam lever is in a car.
TL;DR Step 1: Find key that should be in the ignition and turn the engine on.
      Step 2: disengage emergency brake.
      Step: put forklift into drive.
Treat it like a car. Keep your foot on the brake through all these steps until you’re ready to go. Remember forklifts steer from their back wheels and have a really good turning radius. Good luck out there people

I am glad that you advised the viewers to wear their seatbelt, but this only teaches people the introductory basics on how to drive the forklift. There is a whole lot more to operating and not simply just driving though. You're skill as a mentor is amazing and I'd love if there was a follow-up series of videos demonstrating how to change the propane tank, opening and closing the propane tank to get into the machine, types of tires for indoor and outdoor environments, safety vests/googles/protective shoes etc. Speaking for myself and many, we would pay for an online class like that to show our staff.

He has the shortest videos on forklift operation on youtube. YET, has the most views 💯
He gets it and doesn't waste our time or his!

I swear, I thought from the thumbnail this was going to be a meme
,but I got to tell you this,
5 years in the army working in support units, 7 years of construction working with similar vehicles,
this man did a GREAT f****** JOB and he explained it better than I imagined myself explaining it in such a short amount of time.
Props to the man and also Godspeed!
