Fuel draw back on the return line so getting air in the fuel also you got diesle knock which is not enough fuel mine does not do that at -4c. So start with the fuel return line's and replace them first start with the chepest
This could be an injectors leak problem with one or more of your injectors, also starter sounds a little lousy, so starter/battery, it's not cold enough for the glow plugs yet. -1*C for volvo diesel is like 20*C for alfa Romeo diesel. 😉 Chears, 2.4d5 v70 owner 🙂
Damn yours cranks very actively compared to my d5. Battery was changed like a year back and starter about 4-5 years ago and it is *SLOW* and hard to start when temps hit 0 outside. I doubt ill get it to start during winter.
Hi. What was your diagnosis because I've got a similar issue. But when I spray brake cleaner into the intake pipe, it starts up and runs without a hassle and when the engine is hot, it starts up easily after that too. But not in the morning and it's not cold out here in Cape Town, South Africa, not at all.
@@MarianKielas hi yes, with a good diagnostic machine we could trace a misfire with injector 3 and 4 I believe. Partly an injector issue those were leaking and needed to be reconditioned. I had it replaced instead as I thought I'll keep those to recondition them separately as a backup or resell it. The main culprit however were the sensor wiring. Several areas of exposed and brittle wiring caused incorrect voltage readings and the camshaft sensor was previously repaired but badly done, causing the sensor to burn out. Seems the wires made contact where it was exposed, not properly covered, shorted the sensor.
It can be many problems. When engine was running it was good but when you were driving above 2500rpm the turbo was started to whistle and ended up in safe mode.
@@panteaflorin6783 this guy probably has a petrol so he doesn't understand. My v70 d5 with 400000km did start just fine in -32C when I let the glow plugs preheat for 20 seconds
@@Samme131 hi. I've recently purchased the same model, 2006 / 2007 d5 2.4. It cranks and has this jerk as if it wants to start. The moment you spray some brake cleaner into the intake pipe, it starts up and runs fine. I've noted with the diagnostics that it says injector 3 needs to be checked. Can't remember the code now, need to check it again. But could thst injector impact the engine turning over?

Mr Bulldog, did you find the problem?
No. I sell the car but I think it could be poor starter. Engine had no smoke when running
