Wow. The whole friction thing to add heat is something i didnt even think about having low porosity hair, i would just always continuously readd hot water to my bottle and it was so annoying...thank u for this! So helpful

CurlyNella1011 couldn’t agree more. My curls are tighter in the back and more loose in the front. I have to be really careful with the front of my hair. Especially when I apply heat. The front section is more prone to getting heat damage.

hi sis long post alert ...
I wash my hair once a week and I use the Creme if nature argon oil shampoo .
I’ve been pre pooing with aloe before hand and always deep condition after washing
To moisturize after this wash day I use
Leave in :pure aloe gel on both sides. One
side I used the mane choice / blueberry twist n shout cream . The other side I used Camille moisture milk and the almond jai butter. I removed excess product on both sides with a T-shirt
When I took down my braids (completely dry) moisture was ok I expected way more softness and moisture . But the end of the day it felt like what I would except day 3 hair to look like .
So I thought hmm maybe it’s because I didn’t seal with an oil . So last night I remoisturized with aloe juice ( spray bottle ) added Shea mosit coconut smoothie to one side added African prides oil to seal . The other side I use aloe juice the almond jai and sealed with castor .
I took the braids down hrs later when completely dry only to find my hair feeling extra extra dry with oil. It felt like I had only put oils in my hair and nothing else.
I’m so discouraged at this point I don’t know what to do. I think I am a high porosity natural because like I said moisture enters so easily but for the life of me I cannot find a product that keeps it moisturized .

NaturalChic 24 maybe try cutting out aloe Vera from your routine for a month or two and see how your hair reacts to that. I experience the same thing and do the baddy method to stretch out the days of moisture.

I've done this over the years and my hair feels ahhhmaaaazing afterwards. I always use the clay, ACV and some type of oil, like grapeseed or olive oil (whatever is in the house). Excellent as a face mask & armpit detox to reduce dark spots!! Not too much ACV for the face mask or itll burn.

Hey thanks for this!! My (naturally dark blonde, go figure) hair seems to be low porosity (freshly scrubbed strand will not sink in water no matter what, lol), and my hair seems to like what yours does, so this is revolutionary! My family always used vinegar rinses, but that's the part I don't do anymore, so I guess my hair is now a hybrid, haha! I appreciate that you really seem to know what you're doing and have a unique approach (wash-and-go)!
And, yes to finger-detangling!!! I've been finger-detangling my wavy hair for years after trying almost every brush in the book with disastrous results. So funny.

Trying the Aztec mask the best thing I ever did. When I first did my big chop, for months I felt like my hair didn’t have a curl pattern and I had a lot of straight pieces randomly throughout my head. Kim thanks for explaining in detail every thing you did in detail. our hair is similar but I have a quarter of your length. I'm seeing more moisture in the couple of days that I've tried your method partially. I waiting for the Aztec clay. I used my Creme of Nature pre wash clay. I'm see the moisture and minimal shrinkage but I need the diffuser to. I put a list together for my next Amazon purchase. I will give you and update as soon as I get my products and I will let you know step by step.

I do this clay mask and I have high porosity hair, and it actually straighten my hair when applied. Once I wash out, then I 👀 my curls.
