I draw but i've been overthinking this whole thing with animation and got me terrified to try out, but im working on getting there step by step Wish me luck!
@@dylantiger2001 So far, I've been focusing on things like getting expressions or poses right without the animations. Kinda like storyboarding to sum it up but its getting there. Since drawing a full body is still much of a challenge for me to animate then that's what I gotta work on.
Can I just say, you are one of the most inspirational people I ever know, so far I've only seen a couple of your videos, but you are an amazing artist and you deserve many many more views. I will gladly recommend your videos to EVERYONE who wants to try and have a go at animating.
Oh my god I went along with you through this whole video and bye the end I couldn’t believe I drew that! Thank you so much! You don’t know how much this means to me!! Definitely subbing :)
A video from 5 years ago has taught me how to view silhouettes as a way to produce sketch references from my mind. I have aphantasia, so I can't picture images normally xD SO THANK YOU!!!
Only recently got the chance to learn animation and I’m only 10 or so minutes in and I’d just like to say - I LOVE watching the way you draw! Very different to my own method and I love it! Great advice so far too, can’t wait to see what else comes of this playlist
I fell into the trap of wanting to draw like realistically and I was also highly influenced by anime, and that got me nowhere, it was like a step back. And also pursuing your style can really slow you down. It's a complex topic but I've recently started to like draw without caring about the end result or the aesthetics, just get it done, clarity is the most important thing in drawing for animation
there's quite a lot of people I'm influenced by for linework and overall drawing style. I'd say recently I have been particularly inspired by: Tkki Russ Mills Takehiko Inoue Kazuto Nakazawa Alex Nino
Give detail to the right elements, give less or no detail to unimportant things. Art can be more about what you don't show rather than what you show. Detail doesn't rank very highly on my list of priorities in an animation. If you can't master the bigger picture, all of that detail you work hard on is obsolete. Detail is in-fact one of those things that make animation a very pliable media form. If you have a low budget and not much time, you can strip an animation of any excess detail and it can still work (to great effect!), if you're given the luxury of a large budget and lots of time, you can indulge in the detail of a piece, although I think sometimes the detail can be distracting. Interesting question, thanks!
Thanks m8, i find this very usefull. Im in the year where ill finish my school and become a student and i've always loved to draw and make stuff so this really inspirates me to get on it and push myself :) so yea thankyou, keep doing what your doing.
This is such good advice. I'm an anime-furry art fan that's up in years, but the want to draw is now being fed by your incredible videos. I have characters developed for stories inside my head id like to put to paper or screen, to comic style, then later, trying to animate. Thank you for your work.... Cheers.... Kimonoskunk
@@HowardWimshurst Where do you go to University? I'm only 15 and i trying to get some experience in before I decide on a University or collage. When I get there how would I go about doing classes for animations?
Okay. Now I have a crush on you. Btw! You're great! You're really helping me, I want to be an art director in animation but I have to work really hard to get a school and the skills. Thank you and keep going you're amazing! You got a new subscriber fron France :)
Let's say I wanted to do an animation like Naruto and Dragon Ball Z how would I do that? Because that dimension is different from your dimension (drawing I mean). So how could I start starting something like that who would you recommend it what would you recommend?
i would recommend just doing what I'm doing but having a different style. Maybe use the line tool instead of thick brushes and learn how to do efficient cell shading. Examples i can think of are Mellaveli, Sean E entertainment and Heytem animates
Yeah, I've done that multiple-stroke thing, but only because I had originally tried to draw with few strokes, and the head turned out as a huge misshapen blob
You probably need to specialize in a very niche field and make sure that you are the best in the world at that field, whatever it is. Some fields have more competition than others. For example, if you want to be an animator at Pixar, you'd better be a gobsmacking genious animator because they have a constant queue of animators lined out of the door trying to get in. But what if you specialize in 360 panoramic sound design? You probably have a slightly better chance. Maybe you are an industry expert at social media marketing? Or you're developing cutting edge VR technology? They might want to be your friend. But i'm guessing you want to be involved in the animation process. The answer is quite simple. You have got to be so good at your craft that they can't ignore you. Pixar only hire the best. Focus on getting to that.
+Howard Wimshurst Thanks man! That's really helpful to know and so is the video. You have some serious knowledge about animation, amazing! :D yeah hah. I will never give up of becoming the legend artist, well that is my goal. Am not sure what my actual goal is but I want to everything like traditional art, concept art, animation etc. But trying to see which fits best for me. I will figure out and your video helped me see it clearly. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the tip. I think I will go through another phase of "popular" video topics soon. I don't know if I can face doing anime videos again though.

Yes, we are in the order mamilia, but we try to distinguish ourselves from the class 'animelia'. Our species is human. We are in a sense animal, accounting we are alive, moving and breathing. We are not plants obviously. Though when speaking about what people draw, the muscle systems are quite different. Drawing based on the muscle of a species is what is recommended.

Will you teach how to draw poses in your course?
