Damn, Marco - I have always heard people talk about how Blender is useful for 2D animators, but I never saw it used like this. I'm sure it's not a big secret or anything, but I always appreciate the way that you incorporate these little tech tips into your videos like this - otherwise I would be stuck forever selecting and importing individual image references into Gimp or more likely, just pulling it up in another window. This is way more intuitive (at least at first glance, though I may feel different once I actually get a chance to try uploading a folder full of images into Blender 😅).

I had no idea an artist could use Blender to practice in this way. Wow! Thank you again, Marco.

Man I was always so confused by how people were deciding what the action line was. Might be my neurodivergence but it just wasn’t obvious to me. This video and the last one really clarified that for me.
As a blender guy the second half was an added bonus

Great video! I should have to try this myself!
I would argue that it might be possible to glean insight into timing for animation by studying this way, if you take the time to pay attention to the reference animation. You could make notes on how long certain actions take and how long they're held, and discover the rhythm of timing and spacin. If you did a gesture drawing of a dynamic quick fight scene, you'd also find out that certain actions have near instant timing, and even multiple actions bundled into single beats.

The timing on this couldn't be more perfect. I literally saw Adventure Planet for the first time a few days ago (I've been watching a tonne of Disney to help myself learn about 2D animation), AND at the same time I realised I have a weakness in the area of gesture drawing and have been really struggling with how to do it properly. Thank you so much Marco, your stuff is amazing!

The way you break down the information and explain not just what you're doing but why you're doing it is unmatched imo. Thank you for making these tutorials, I've learned so much from you over the years.

Glad to see blender for animation in action. I'm learnig blender right now (after three failed attempts in the past, thanks to that donut no one gets right, ever... now with better learning material) and it's super fun! I'm going to try this for sure. Cheers!

Treasure Planet is my favorite movie. Never thought of looking at things like this. Ive watched it so many times, yet never understood the appeal of the whole animation. It is really an art, that takes so much into understanding its baffling. Thank you for the great breakdown and easy follow-up. And even animating in blender? This framework is looking neat!!

This is such an amazing video. I seen so many art tutorial videos and I rarely see people talk about line of actions and gestures. Mostly in stylized art styles like animation. It is refreshing to see a video like this. In all honestly. I think this is the easiest way to do construction in my personal opinion. I also think it makes your art look move lively and have a flow. Something I've been always wanting to achieve. I am no teacher nor have a job at Disney or anything but I legit recommend drawing like this practicing these techniques myself. If I ever become an art teacher I will defiantly show this video. Heck I feel like drawing this way is great for illustration as well. Not just animating. I am so happy a video like this exists. I think many people can benefit from this.

So much to learn dernit! Blender's gonna be a grind like no other... all worth it of course.
All of your content has helped me so much, especially now that I've actually started working on a slightly more serious short animation.
    Thank you!

That third drawing of Dr Doppler looks to me to have his screen left shoulder down and the screen right side up, but that's just an opinion, I love your videos. I did want to add a way to think about the hips or shoulder position when one can't be seen... They generally oppose each other in tilt, if one side is down on one the same side will usually be up on the one you cant see. The same for twist if the right shoulder is forward the right hip will twist to the rear.
