Sounds like a guitar amp with a bass played through it. BRIGHT, with no real bottom end. Phil Jones Bass makes the X4, with 35 watts and one 4" speaker. It actually _sounds_ like a bass amp, with real bottom end. And it's *tiny.*
We're in two different leagues there when it comes to any Phil Jones product versus something that's meant to be on a budget. Apples to oranges compare. For the price point it sold at it's a decent value. I've seen posts from Phil Jones in the Facebook groups about his stuff...he's a bit of a cocky SOB, and I guess he has some freedom to be that way, but the man's ego seems to overshadow his engineering proficiency IMO.
@Bassguitarist1985 I have had the pleasure of a 1+ hour long conversation with Phil Jones. It was a technically enlightening conversation. What he knows about audio could educate 99% of the audio "specialists" alive today. He has lived it, and he knows it like few others. If he's "cocky", he can back it up, but he was a gentleman with me for over an hour. So, based on my personal experience, I'll take your comment with the grain of salt it deserves. Regarding the amplifiers, once you've heard what can be done, it's hard to accept less. Even if it costs more, it proves the technology is there, and frankly, it's worth it to get something that sounds good instead of making excuses for something that doesn't. But if money is the primary concern, go for it. Just don't settle if you don't have to. I believe we have each made our points, and although I disagree, I can still respect yours. And *that* is what freedom of choice is all about. Hang in there, I'm pullin' for ya. We're all in this together. (Steve Smith, of The Red Green Show, Canadian Broadcasting)
@@Bassguitarist1985 Your baseline is actually more melodic than the original Boney Maroney ... You could turn that into something and create a hit song (if we were living back in the 1970s ... happy times!)
Very clean and articulate for it's size. That's awesome.
@@Riverking1 yeah it's a great budget option. It sits on the side of my work desk where I can plug in and jam out in-between meetings/tasks.

3:55 ... I've got a girl called Boney Maroney!
Funny, I had no idea about that song. I was noodling around on a scale
