This was just released so if some of the links to the unit don't show up right away check back in a day or two. This is similar to the Joyo Jam Buddy but it is different. I talk about that at the end. 😀 🛒 Artist Guitars Australia - alnk.to/d3z99Kj 🛒 Walmart USA - bit.ly/3YfYNHm 🛒 Amazon UK - amzn.to/3Hq8lth 🛒 Amazon AU - amzn.to/3WaADw0 🛒 Amazon Canada - amzn.to/3W7vDYN (affiliate links)
Brilliant description of this amp mate, really don’t know where the designers head was at with this one when they designed it cos I really can’t see many people thinking it looks cool and wanting to buy one, suppose I might be wrong and it’s only my opinion. Shame really cos I have the Caline Pure Sky, Orange Burst, Mellow Drive and Medusa pedals and can’t fault any of them for the quality of the effect tones, they all sound excellent for such low cost pedals.
Just got the bass version of the Lorcan. Still playing with it. The speakers are weak for bass, but signal processing wise the amp does well for both guitar or bass. Will be doing a video soon!
I have a few Caline effects and like them. That little orange amp looks and sounds very cool. So no Bluetooth, go old school! Caline has some new graphics and a new logo. Looks pretty great. Good vid, thanks!
Not exactly something I see myself needing anytime soon, but it sure sounds much better than I expected. Would've been nice if you put in a room mic or sound meter demo to give an idea how loud it actually is.
Okay, after seeing the 9V aux power, I’m on board. You don’t need a stack of 4x10 for a home studio. I’ve been getting good tones mic up smaller speakers, or even direct in with a cab sim. The desktop form factor of this unit makes it seem like a very serviceable tool for a studio.
Looks and sounds good. I think the biggest advantage for the Joyo is the footswitches and Bluetooth. Depending on what you are playing, switching channels by hand mid -strum might be impractical. The pedal power jacks are cool, but for me, this is a portable quick option. Do I need pedals? If I do, there's already power cables running from the Lorcan to the pedals, plus the signal path cables between pedals. It's getting to be a "rig" at that point and I might be better off with a bigger amp anyway. I use the Jam Buddy, for the times I can chuck it in the front pocket of the gig bag and only have to worry about the one cable to the guitar. I'll give the nod to the Joyo for now, but I'm still interested in seeing a shoot out video.
Yeah, not bad overall! Clean channel sounded pretty decent with the internal speaker but when you went to the OD channel, it just sounded like you were playing thru a transistor, AM radio! Ext drive pedals sounded better tho! Line out use did sound the BEST overall, on both channels! DOES that line out HAVE a speaker IR built into it? (Or did you ADD 1 in your DAW at the end of the chain? It sounded like it HAD a speaker on the line out! )
Shane, another lefty player here. Finally, you selled me a Peavy Studio Pro 112 a few months ago. Now im searching a desktop amp for practice and home recordings. My question for you is ¿This gadget is usable for my purposes? I like the look but im not sure about the quality.
Just got this -- it works great, but does it have a high pitched squeal when it's plugged in? It goes away if it's running off the battery, but I don't know if this is normal or not. A few reviews said that theirs does the same thing.
How does the volume compare to a Roland micro cube? It feels like a LOT of your volume is from your recording rig. It would be great to have a more representative volume. If it sounds like your recording, it's great volume.
It definitely does have Bluetooth, they all do. The Lekato CA100 is identical and advertises the Bluetooth as a key feature. The Lorcan is the same unit and also has Bluetooth so not sure why reviewer specifically pointed out it doesn’t, when it does?
I love the look of that thing and it's just kind of bonkers. I would like to hear if it sounds decent with backing tracks. Also I think I heard the clean channel clipping on the mic'd up part as well.
The clean isn't clipping. I mentioned that in the review. It's the speaker. I recorded at -10db. It's not my recording. It doesn't do it on the distortion channel or with pedals (louder) on the clean channel.
@@intheblues I probably should've been clearer, but I was referring to something clipping in the amp and NOT your recording. I'd be a bit concerned that something is off with the clean channel of the amp itself.
It looks pretty sick actually. Not in the market for something like that unfortunately, and the pricing would be probably have me finding better values amp:dollar
It's just been released. I actually don't know but they are usually a very affordable brand with all products. Check the links in a day or two if it doesn't show up yet.
@@intheblues So how would my 1980s 62 reissue Candy Apple Tele sound like when practicing the blues in my room which is 3.5m by 4m with a tall ceiling and a bar fridge in the corner? cheers mate.
They didn't tell me the price but it's about to be released so it should pop up on the links pretty soon. Caline are very affordable. I'm tipping it'll be comparable to the Joyo product.
I don't know- just save for another month for a Spark Mini and have MUCH more flexibility. Seems like a pretty limited market for this thing these days when there are so many good small amps around.
I think just recording the line out was a mistake. People who buy this, will most likely be using the Headphones or the built-in speakers. Ergo hearing how the built-ins sound is a must.
@@bemorecheetah THat video definitely sounds worse than here, so I can believe it is room capture (as they say they use a Tascam DR-05). In that Vid, it sounded, imho much worse than the Spark Mini. So, imho there are better home, practice amps for lowest volume play than this. Though it has one advantage, it COULD be on a small pedal board. But for that use case, I can think of several better sounding options. And if it is anywhere north of 100 USD, then its a big pass.
Man, it's ugly as hell, like a cheap device from the 70s or 80s. My parents had a coffe machine and a portable radio in that color. But it's not sounding that bad.
Ok all jokes about how it looks like an 80’s kids toy or that the name sounds like the drug they give people od’ing on drugs… it actually sounds good for what it is.

Have you tried BluGuitar Amp1?
@@nacuda9 Yes about 5 years ago. You can find it by searching for that plus my channel name.
Looks like the Fisher-Price cassette player I had as a kid.
😂
That was my first thought too 😂😂 it probably is. They just found a few boxes of leftovers in the factory and said f it
Same, thought crossed my mind. Lol
Not a detriment!

I like the 80s vibe of this little amplifier!! 😎😎

It does have Bluetooth not sure why he said it doesn’t
CALINE is on fire lately. Cool idea, a desktop mini amp.
Depending upon the price, it seems to be a decent enough practice amp. Thanks for the demo and review, Shane. 😊👍
Thorough demo of Lorcan, thanks! Out to watch the Jam Buddy review now, I am tired of cables and look for bluetooth in everything now.
Wow way better than I expected !!! I love the funky look .... thanks mate !!!
Not exactly something I see myself needing anytime soon, but it sure sounds much better than I expected. Would've been nice if you put in a room mic or sound meter demo to give an idea how loud it actually is.
Please, we need this comparison. Thanks Shane!
Direct In with Distortion & Reverb sounded AWESOME!!! 👍

Cool little gadget 🙌
Great sounding little unit 👌
Where can you buy one in the US? None of the links are bringing up anything and I can't seem to find anything at all on Google.

Curious to find the price when it's for sale in a few days
On cheap gear, your the top!
Man, that Tokai is one sweet LP.
I can carry this in my strat rectangle guitar case. Cool.

There are adapters for newer android and iPhone to go from the charger jack to aux for cheap on Amazon
Looks like a fisher price toy to go with my webble wobbles. But, sounds pretty good!
Wibbly wobbly?

Miami Connection! Dragon Sound!
very cool!
...but is it a Jam Buddy killer?
I chat about that in the wrap-up section. :)
A Pig-Nose killer!!!
@@intheblues ahh yes, I guess I jumped in too early there.
hello friend, did you test it on the Acoustic guitar???
Thanks nice job
How does the volume compare to a Roland micro cube? It feels like a LOT of your volume is from your recording rig. It would be great to have a more representative volume. If it sounds like your recording, it's great volume.
So, it's like a speakerless floor style amp but with speakers? It seems like it should be cool. I'm just trying to figure out why.

is it better than a fender frontman 10g?
I can't seem to find this in the US

There's a speaker only demo on the Caline RUclips channel, sounds sweet

The tone is pretty wild. The clean with pedals and the distortion channel sound so good. :) Yeah, it's weird looking! haha
I have been watching adventure time with the kids so all I see is a orange Neptr
Product reviews are always so bad because everyone always plays boring rock n roll blues riffs the whole time
Love to hear just the amp without any effects pedals plugged into it. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Yep definitely looks cheap
