Great review! That’s an awesome little amp man. Just a thought, parents everywhere should look at something like this for their kids who are wanting to learn guitar...low cost rocking sounds, doesn’t take up a bunch of room and is portable.🤙🏻🎸🎼

As JOYO products are made in China I was lucky to find out that they also make some really comfortable, unbelievably simple looking yet quality picks when I was shopping for guitars in Shanghai. The ones I got is yellow, the material seems like the same as the dunlop red pointy jazz picks but them JOYO picks have a better size and shape with very practical anti slip patterns printed.
When I first heard the name Jam Buddy I thought it would have a looping control. It should also have a line out as well. I own a Trio pedal that once you start strumming, it will add the bass in the same key and drum patterns which can be modified.
Hey man! Waiting for your in depth review on Mooer Ge250. Creating tones, how to use the software and everything. You are amazing, keep on doing these stuffs for us.
I have a Trainer Quarter Horse, and it's a similar setup, but without built-in speakers. I sometimes use it as a preamp, since it has echo/tremolo, reverb and overdrive. But this item sounds better - a really rich distortion.
Got that Steppinwolf tone !!! I'm buying one, once I can finally get back to Canada then I can order one when I'm in quarentine yipee!!! Good little amp to play in the bathroom!!!
Not many products get that kind of reaction from you. Price is ridiculously low as well. Could you do a pedal board amp set up? Something like a Quilter or Orange Terror Stamp with pedals and a cabinet? I think that is my next move.
Great! I have this one! It took so long I found the answer of my questions! Amazing that is compatible to connect with other gadgets or another pedals. Great great video! This works to boss GT 1 ? ☺️ Thank u More videos to inspire!
Got a little Zombie a while ago. That Joyo Bluetooth is SOMETHING. If only all devices were that easy. When you turn it on it’s there. Turn it off, it’s not. What a concept.
Very cool tool! Had I not already purchased a NU-X Mighty Air, I would have surely considered this (I would encourage anyone needing a good practice tool to also look at NU-X).
Can't say I'm a fan of the hi gain of this amp Shane, but the classic sounds passable and the concept of the amp is pretty good. The price is right and would be easy enough to chuck in an overnight bag. Knowing how some of the cheaper Chinese gear is made, I would suggest that they either indent the pots or have the speaker housing a little higher to give those pots some protection against knocks. The bluetooths an added bonus considering the price.
Don't know about others but my jam buddy doesn’t have the battery backup anymore. Don't know if that is fixable. It could be better with a battery compartment with replaceable batteries. At this moment my jam buddy runs if the power supply is connected, otherwise it makes problems. I wonder if anyone else is having this problem.
Peter Coates I don’t blame you. I will say this: I am fortunate enough to own a couple Fenders and a couple Gibsons... and the Gibsons just have a certain something special.
This was a great practice amp. Took it and a cheap guitar travelling earlier in the year and then got stranded away from home over a month with travel bans and having this to practice with was great. Only issue I had was that I used Bluetooth to tether my iPad and I haven’t managed to tether anything else. I threw out the instructions (oops!) but I’m sure if I’m forced to I’ll be able to fix it.
I use this all the time. Shane have you tried going from the headphone out direct into a PA or recording device? I use this live into the PA or a powered speaker. I also use it with great success into a Fishman Loudbox mini.
I'm using mine so much more than I thought I would... wishing for a DI output; and the power switch can get turned on by accident in my bag, so I might replace the switch itself myself with something that requires a bit more dexterity. The decent-sized battery drove me to start using it more, instead of a handful of other devices, and I'm always looking to reduce the amount of gear I'm hauling around so it didn't have to twist my arm very hard.
I just had my Jam Buddy delivered and I’m returning it. The Hi Gain channel sounds really awful (through the full range of gain) when plugged in. It cuts out, pops, crackles and distorts (in a bad way) like mad. I tested it on several conditioned power outlets and it does the same thing. On battery power, I don’t believe it’s as loud, but it doesn’t seems to have those problems. Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Amazon is sending me a replacement unit. I will still play around with this unit for a week or so, until the replacement comes. I hope the replacement unit is much better. I love the form factor, the convenience , the battery and the price of the Jam Buddy. I just need it to sound good. Also, I really like the orange textured jazz picks that are included in the package...
Craig Clark Hi... I received a replacement unit. The new one seemed a bit better at first, but still has the same issues when plugged in. On battery power, it is much better, but there is still some distortion. The speakers are very small, so I understand that there will be distortion when the gain and volume are maxed out. I am keeping it though, as the price is really good , the form factor is awesome and I does sound really good when I’m not playing too loud. Even loud with high gain and delay, it sounds like a much bigger amp to me. So it’s definitely not the best, but I believe it is wayyyy better that the little portable battery powered amps that stick directly into your guitar... Is yours better on battery power like mine? Good luck!
jbreakstone I have the same issue when it’s plugged into power it is terrible it cracks and distorts and if you touch the plug even slightly or it moves it goes crazy. On battery mine is fine, I’d say the power packs are dodgy or it’s a poor connection. On battery mine is fine. Cheaply made I’d say. I don’t know if I should send it back or move it on to someone else. Great idea but it seems the quality control is not there
Craig Clark yup, something definitely seems wrong with the power bricks.. I’m still using it - but only one battery power. It actually sounds really good on battery power. Not good when plugged in.... Joyo QC definitely seems lacking....
This thing was really great. I say was for a reason. I wish clean was a little louder as compared to the dirty channels. The classic rock channel would clean up with the volume. The main problem is that it just stopped working after 1 and 1/2 years. It was pretty much babied. Unfortunately I've had the same experience with another Joyo pedal. I'm turned off by the lack of reliability with Joyo for now and I won't be buying another one. I might be tempted to do so if the looper was added. Too bad as the concept was really good. I could throw it in a gig bag and go for some low volume jamming.
Sounds ace! Was expecting a plastic tone from a plastic box! Mint! Though, there are so many other great little amps out there, at a similar price point, that, for me, are better. Thinking Boss Katana Mini! ;-)
I wonder if the clean channel cleans up a little more when you either roll down the guitar volume a little bit, or use a guitar with less output such as vintage wind strat singles.
I like it. I can take my 210 60w crate amp out of my bedroom and have some space. Wonder how it'll sound with an extension speaker cab connected to it.
This would be great for busking with my giant pedalboard... I just worry about those 4" speakers being blown by the massive amounts of gain and low end....
Ordered mine, now I have to do is get a guitar :). Actually I have a Crate strat copy, pickups meant to be alnico but sound like ceramics, they all sound the same, pots are either off or on, will not keep tune. In general a lemon ! I am looking for a Tele or LP Junior style with P90's . I was going to get one next month in France or Germany, far too expensive in Australia, but hey we all know what happened. Have to wait now til 2021. Anyway back of to the study to try another rebuild/adjustment to the Crate.
How loud is this, in room using the built in speakers? Loud enough to play with friends in a room? Louder than acoustic guitars? I'd use mostly the Clean or Classic Gain channels - Strat/Tele/P90s.
I'm wearing earphones and I can't tell the difference between the gain channel and clean channel in the beginning. Anyone else? Usually phones make everything clear for me.
@@eduhudtwalcker I've connected mine from the headphones with a regular TS Guitar cable into the front of a Crate GX30M Guitar Amp (Clean Channel) Sounds Great! Haven't tried directly into a mixer's mono channel input! Might try putting a DI box before going into a mixer. I bought a 2nd one as a backup! A quick, light to travel, tone generator! :)
After watching the above linked video, I would safely say that we can plug this in safely into a mixer's channel! :) Looks like he to was using a TS Guitar Cable to go into his soundcard, and I could see that he has the volume way low on the Gain channels. :) Hope this helps :)
@@intheblues I'll second that question - very interested to know! Also, if you run the headphone line out to an amp or a hi-fi, what's that like compared to the built-in speaker?
You got my attention with "built-in rechargable battery". That is something I wish Blackstar would have done with the Fly 3
Great review! That’s an awesome little amp man. Just a thought, parents everywhere should look at something like this for their kids who are wanting to learn guitar...low cost rocking sounds, doesn’t take up a bunch of room and is portable.🤙🏻🎸🎼
Shane, you make everything sound good mate. No matter what it is. You’re probably my favorite reviewer
Thanks so much, Kent!
Clever little device. I may want one. It sounded absolutely filthy with those P-90's
Had my Jambuddy for a few months, battery lasts, those little speakers pump out a nice combo sound.
Thank you, two questions I had, answered....
They timed this coming out perfectly. Good on them. Edit: nevermind I just saw that it's been out nut great timing on this video none the less.

Elevated jam tracks is a great channel!
Damn..! JOYO has a winner on their hands..! Nice demo Shane.. . 👍🍻
They missed a trick here and should have included a looper! Great concept.
I will wait till the version with a looper and effects loop.
That's the first thing I thought. I'd pay another 10-15% more for it if it had a looper.
You may have already seen the review on this channel, but the Joyo DC-15S is an expansion on this idea and has a looper.
Great opening jam on this one. Well done Shane

Awesome opening track Shane.
Great video review! I’ve just ordered one of these. Excited to try it out.
I got one of these and the Line Out can go into any available amp or PA . I love it. It has a lithium battery so you can take it outside
My two favorite guitars you own - Gibson Flying V and the Les Paul Special, both sound really good
Interesting device. I'm really surprised as I was this mornging by the tone you get out of it :) Perfect travel amp.

Shane as a practice amp does it sound better than the Nux BT mighty lite. Sounds better I think. Love to hear your thoughts as I may get one of these
Hi Shane, assuming the headphone output has cab sim? Be sure it would but wanted to check as even the manual doesn't say this. Cheers.
Did it sound as good in the room as it coming across the mic? Looks like a good candidate for a couchside practice amp.
My question as well
Yep! It sounds really great in person. I have been using it a lot especially to jam with tracks via Bluetooth from RUclips.
RIP Grumpy Cat! \m/
Where did you get the band posters behind you in the pics? Also the artwork?
Sounds pretty good!!!

Can I ask you for your advise on what joyo effects ( more specific which models) to use to re create Ry Cooder effect? thanks
Does it also have Santana sound?
Great little box. If it had a USB out it would be awesome.

Is it just me or is the intro chord progression, Ang Huling El Bimbo? Mga Pilipino mag ingay😂
Exactly!! Haha.. 😂
Does the power supply allow for international voltage?
I can dig it !
Would you recommend this, a boss katana mini, or a vox mini 5 rythem as a practice/portable amp?
Blackstar fly 3 or Nux mighty lite bt.
Are you 'Left Handed? Or is vid in reverse?? Just wondering.. cheers
why do these battery amps all use delay ,when most would prefer reverb
