This was honestly one the best episodes. Introduces a villain so well (also Dark Mist's voice is so charismatic and devious... how is it so nice sounding)
This is one of my favorite episodes. Not only because Number 96 is introduced (one of my fave villains) but we get learn more about Yuma and Bronk's friendship.
If you watched the entire series it makes more sense that the golden key would repel number 96 seeing that dark mist is not actually astral or even part of him.
number 96 was an awesome villian i wish bronk had been in more duels cause his strategy was really interesting, unfortunately we never got much from him, or any of his peers other then shark. would have been nice to see more gearspring counter related cards, dark mist does have a great point and that is the weakness of a counter strategy is that it can be quite slow.
To this day I'm confused! There 2 versions of Number 96: Dark Mist; 1 like a black/evil version of Astral, the other's the Xyz Monster. What's the deal with the 'Dark Astral' version wanting Number 39: Utopia?!?
Yuma's deception trick is actually completely pointless. If Number 96 had destroyed Gearspring Catapult like he said, Bronk could've activated Gearspring Exploder on his next turn, dealing 2400 points of damage from the counters on Automatic Gearspring Machine, then used those 3 counters to summon Gearspring Spirit, lowered Dark Mist's attack points, and taken out 96's last 600 life points. The card that Number 96 should've gone after was Automatic Gearspring Machine. Without it, Bronk would've only had 1 counter, and would've been unable to deal enough damage or summon Gearspring Spirit. GG.
Actually, that last part wouldn't have worked since Gearspring Spirit's attack points were 100 and its effect only lasts until the turn ends. Now if Bronk uses monster reborn to bring back Utopia, which he did originally, then his victory would be assured.
+SwirlyOrange From the looks of it, initially the Number Cards' text is written in Astral Runes but then it changed into Japanese kanji in order to adapt to the world they are in. Or they at least "translate" their text into what ever language the holder has a bit after they are in contact with the Number.
@@skydishmane65 At some point in the series, Yuma's close friends are able to all see Astral. It's not well-explained how it is that it happens. I don't think they'd seen him at all up to this episode though.
Interesting. Observation No 1: Japanese People was nicer in the original version. Yuma said Were no longer friends. In this version Yuma said that Bronk is fat.
The Black and White Astral should have been the final boss in the Yugioh franchise. We want to see that Astral who was corrupted in the darkness in Yumas 3rd Zexel series where it will take place in the Arc V World where Yuma, Shay, and Arc V Kite has to duel him to save the world
Number 96 reminds me in ways of Otes (Sevens) Both never won a duel Both lost a duel to a secondary and/or tertiary character (in 96’s case , Bronk. In Otes case , Luke/Gakuto/Romin/Swirly) At least 96 was written better and I’d have loved if it was Astral that ended him as opposed to Yuma 😃
Yuma’s false advice to Number 96 wasn’t as helpful as I’m sure he thought it was: While it is true that Bronk would have accumulated 4 Gear-spring Counters in total during his last turn of the Duel, that wouldn’t have been the case if Number 96 had destroyed Gear-spring Catapult; that would have left Bronk with 3 counters. However, he would’ve still been able to deal a heavy 2400 damage to Number 96, leaving him with 600 LP remaining. From there, Bronk could’ve done the same moves he did in this episode, but this way he would have been able to wipe out Number 96’s LP much more easily without needing to boost the ATK of Utopia. All in all, either way would’ve resulted in Bronk’s victory, but from a strategic standpoint, Yuma should’ve just kept his mouth shut.
Dark mist frightens me in this episode because he’s not friendly like Astral it’s mean to get Yuma to duel for him he should duel himself and not get Yuma to do it for him
I’m honestly a little disappointed that not more was done with dark mist. I feel like they could’ve gone so much more with him. He also is it wrong that he kind of reminds me of Venom ?
