Those A/T's are bordering on a M/T tyre pattern. For me it would be the A/T's, excellent on road manners but a heap of grip for many off road applications.
The ATs in 295/70 on my truck are fantastic. Not a lot of mud around here but in snow, dirt, mud puddles and rocks they've been bulletproof with great grip.
I have the AT's on my 4Runner. They are pretty quiet on pavement and work very well in mud and off-road. Mine are 285/70/17's so about 34" and with an OME 3" lift I can do fairly well on most terrains. Will be interesting how they work in snow. In the USA Midwest near Chicago we do get a lot of snow and ice. About 5000 miles on them so far...do recommend them highly!
Glad you love, been thinking about these for my next tire, but also have to correct you that a 285/70/17 is closer to 32.8 and not 34. The Baja Boss AT in a 295/70/17 is 33.7 before being mounted to your vehicle.
Just got the a/t’s on my f-250 farm truck. 295/70/17’s, the tires take no prisoners folks. Tried breaking them lose on snowy roads and muddy fields. Only spins in 2wd. Ride is quiet and comfortable too. Better than at3w’s I had but I’ll suffer some gas mileage. I don’t care though because the tire is awesome!!
Man...I would LOVE if the A/T had a lighter casing for intermediate trail usage. I live in mountainous, curvy Western NC & getting that heavy carcass up to speed on our undulating roads is too much. I had to buy a set of Maxxis Razr's instead. Wanted to buy US made tires but my last set was Risge Grapplers and even that carcass weighed too much. Just something to consider.
@@4WDTV I enquired about 15” tyres, not available, hardly leading. I’m in the build process and was willing to purchase but as said, not available. Happy to promote some 33” when my lift from Turkey arrives. Building a NSW’s “ The Little Rig”
I have had the 33's A/T's on my 2wd Tacoma for about a year now and I've been able to off road in all conditions, what sold me was the side walls aka side biters, when aired down to 18 psi they're unstoppable, my off road buddies want them now! BEST OFF ROAD TIRE I'VE OWNED TO DATE!!!!
Every 19yo with their first clapped out Patrol/80 series/Colorado should watch this video before insisting they need "muddies" for their daily driver lol.
no doubt, and yet the brand of tyres still carries on and proudly carries his name, hence the title of this video that represents the brand Mickey Thompson.
@@4WDTVso what's the difference between the new Legend MTZ and the new Baja boss mt? They are both mud terrain and yeah I can see a little different Center tread and a little different sidewall tread but what's the difference in reality other than those visuals
@@ronaldrrootiii6040 The Baja Boss is a whole new tyre with many advanced features in compound, tyre design and tread. The traction is in a whole new league. The legend is more of a budget tyre and maybe even a step back from the normal MTZ which is a great Tyree in it's own right, yet still not as good as the Baja Boss.
@@4WDTV yeah that's kind of what I was thinking. I did watch a video saying that the new MTZ was a little better than the old P3 because of silica compound and slightly more aggressive shoulder lugs. But what's weird is I sent an email directly to Mickey Thompson they actually said the legend MTZ is more extreme of a mud tire for deeper mud and that the Baja boss Mt what's more of an all-around mud tire good on snow and gravel and sand and mud. But I was surprised they actually said MTZ was more extreme just for really deep mud and huge rocks. That was their exact words. So then I was left a little confused still. At this point I figure here comes down to looks so I guess I'll try the new Baja boss Mt

they do hook up well and have amazing strength.
I use the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. They are a hybrid all terrain and mud terrain with 18/32 tread depth. They are a beast in mud and snow.

drove on them in the christmas snow storm from indy to chicago, absolute beast of a tire
What air pressure are you running on road. I have a 4Runner as well. Thanks

Im from Canada where 5 months of snow. I will be doing 80% on road and 20% off road what wil be your choice of tire?
i need the snow performance of the ATs and have to say, on the jeep rubicon wrangler 4xe, they are fannnnntastic
How does each tire handle snow?? I live on cape cod Massachusetts. Which would be best?
Both are very good but your best choice would be the AT
I've just got a set for Offroading only, so hence I have some MT's.
How about we explain the difference between the legend MTZ and the Baja boss Mt. That is a lot more confusing to me

AT Legend then?
Boss MT for me. Very good on road and just don’t have to go down to the AT. Best tire I ever had and I’ve had most of them.
You need a set for a 15” rim. Need to compete with BF Goodrich sizes.
haha, it is hard to compete when you are already leading 😉

I have a full set of the a t's on my wrangler. I love them would not trade them for anything.
What range in km would you expect from each
Best to contact the manufacturer as it all depends on the pressure, the terrain and how you drive.
In the US they are rated for 50,000 miles. So that would be about 80,000 KM. Have 5,000 miles on my AT's and they look almost new.
Beautiful
I’m surprised the M/T’s mud terrain don’t have the 3 mountain peak rating, especially since the Toyo M/T’s have them, maybe in the future?
The toyo M/Ts don't have the 3 mountain peak. Their AT does though.
@@Wormed101 Mine did,
@@danmckeon6221no they don't
love these tires but there totally unaffordable these days with being $150 a Tyre more than most other brands

very welcome, more coming!
Sorry, that's not Mickey Thompson, He dies in 1988
Yeah, a little misleading title there.

Get rid of that annoying soundtrack and it could be a good review.
thank you mate. Was it too loud or just not your thing?

Agreed, thank you@@rickb5575
Where was Mickey Thompson? Did you bring him back from the dead, he was murdered in 1988 along with his wife in California?

Mud Terrians any day , having both over the years on different vehicles LT MT 📹😎🤙🛻
also I think in general the higher rating LT tyre pressures eg 120psi makes a big difference too,
yep we love our muddies.
