I think that the claws and compound bow were a great weapons upgrade for this character.
Before I saw the cartoon or read the comics, I got a handful of joes for Christmas. Storm shadow v2 was one of them. This was my fave figure as a kid and probably still is 👍
In my Joeverse it will always be a Cobra operative. He is not neccessarily a bad guy, he only wants his clan to get at the top and Cobra serves better his purposes.
After watching all the American Ninja and karate kid movies i had to have this guy. All my school friends were in karate and i just got my first compound bow, so it was very relatable.
So Storm Shadow is probably the only guy who could go to battle against himself
I see storm shadow as someone who walks the edge and torn between his duties and honor. he is someone who is and should be hard to classify and even when he was evil in the sunbow cartoon he was surprisingly polite if you can believe it. he is also what could be and what can be.
Storm Shadow is among my five favorite G.I. Joe characters and I actually like this 1988 version one more than original. I know that this 1988 version isn't for everyone but to me this one does so much right that I can't help but to like it.
This was a big favorite of mine as a kid, and it still holds a place in my heart.
Storm Shadow is one of my all-time fave GI Joe characters (the other being Snake Eyes). I had both version 1 and 2 when growing up. I really like that he was made a character complex enough that he has this duality to him and the mysteriousness that comes with being a ninja; all that certainly makes him interesting as a character and quite suitable for compelling storytelling.
Great review, storm shadow v2 is my favorite figure besides shockwave, I love his story arc from cobra to Gi joe, it makes great character development and story telling, it's a shame sunbow didn't get a chance to tell this story transition, good thing Larry hama did this in the comics, I try to collect every comic that has storm shadow written by larry hama, if you are going to have ninjas in Gi joe than storm shadow was the correct way, not over done and makes you care about the character and see where his adventures and journeys take him
The uniform in the DIC episodes was the V3 outfit from his ninja force figure.
Storm Shadow v2 with his claw, compound bow, and v1's backback and swords is a game changer
Love Storm Shadow my absolute favorite ninja character. This was my favorite version of the character. Ninja Force version 3 a close second.
Love storm shadow, favourite cobra character
Got him and snakeeyes at K-mart in1988. Thanks Mom.
love the new thumb nail with the toy instead of the art. Hope its something that will happen more.
I love the exposed tattoo, but I still like the original version more.
Man there wer so many to buy and they wer so original it was insane I remember being so excited looking thru the section of joes in toys r us, kb toys etc... man u could buy joes at cvs, woolworths, bradleys, caldore, kmart... it was so great walking to the car with 2,3 new joes!!!!!!
This was the year that I REALLY got into GI Joe, as a 10yo. This figure was highly prized in my area at the time.
This was my favourite figure! We only got the 1986 line onward in Australia, I always wanted that 1985 wave ...all the best characters!
