That's the hard, cold, and sad fact of the motorsport world. The best driver might have never been in the Formula series at all. Meanwhile we have people like Raghuanathan, Latifi, etc. That is in the sport solely because they have money.

@@boltmix7294 and how can you know that?
There could be a Brazilian kid out there, who watched the greatness of Ayrton Senna and aspired to be one, but unfortunately is too poor to afford a gokart, let alone race in one. Hence, he cannot hone and prove his skill since he is not able to race.
I think the best example of my point would he Lewis Hamilton. His father had to work double jobs just to have him race, and while he keeps winning, had it not for Ron Dennis and his Mclaren academy, Lewis probably won't last long in karts and, to the extent, won't even make it to F1.
If you look at todays drivers, most of them came from rich background, (best example is Lance Stroll) or came from racing families (Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen) they're 100% supported financially since the beginning and has been training ever since they're a toddler. Max has been karting since he was 4 even i think.
It's pretty much an unforgiving sport, and while agree that F1 should have the BEST drivers, motorsport as a whole is still a very money demanding sport.

@@kami_narisama The three main requirements to get into F1 are money, talent, and luck.
To use your example with Hamilton, he had the talent but lacked the money. However he had the luck of being noticed by Ron Dennis who put him on the fast track to a McLaren seat, and the rest is history.

Zayne Rogers Schumacher's record is still standing. 91 wins, though with the high number of races per year plus never before seen dominance by Mercedes for several years means Hamilton can surpass it. It is a different area though and I think most people know why Schumacher's achievement is special, considering he did not have the best car most of the time.

1994? MSC got 6 victories and one 2nd place in the fist 7 races of that season.
And after that he got 2 DSQ for nothing and 2 banned races for nothing as well. Just for some intrigue in the championship.
Fist of all in Silverstone british (yeap, as Hill) stuarts didn't punish Barrichello and Hakkinen for the same thing that MSC did. Secondly - they made their desicion too late to be right and lawful (27th minute of the race) - according the Regulation 1994 driver were not able to punish after the 15 minutes of the race for the incidents that have place until the start of the race (the incidents were on warmup). And finally they wrote to Benetton a wrong name of penalty = there was no nothing like "5 seconds penalty" in Regulation like they wrote. So they are clearly made big mistakes but because of Briatory-Mosley-conflict-situation everything were turned just versus MSC.
And yes, it was 50% of Hill's fault in Australia - ruclips.net/video/MBBoNMBZZ0o/видео.html

What that man has achieved is just legendary. His battle with Mika was just awesome to see on Spa. Hope the newer generation of drivers will shows us more of that kind of skills and talents!

It's nostalgia really. Don't you think it's boring that one driver dominates the whole season? No competition whatsoever from other drivers (except Mika)...
Now we have two 4-times world champions duking it out with 3 cars (6 drivers) vying for the podium and a closely packed mid-grid cars.
Yes, the overtaking is more artificial but the competitiveness is there.

I LOVE the sound of those old V10s and V12s, but on a different note, by the end of the 2004 season, I'd had enough of Michael winning so often. It was good to see Alonso win the following year's WDC. :) *That's not to knock Michael in any way, he IS a legend and always will be.

(One tiny archive clip interlacing issue aside) this video is a superb introduction to those who didn't realise just how prolific a driver Schumy was. Right car, right team, right era. The man was a powerhouse of the sport, I hope one day he can recover to the point he's able to retell some of these stories himself. Wonderful job by Will and the production team.
