My son and his friends went around Epcot telling people to eat at the Coral Reef because it was such a great experience. Disney cast members heard them and tracked them down. They were given a backstage tour of the kitchen by the head chef and a free meal at Coral Reef. They took lots of pictures and had a fabulous time.

Sandra Travis that’s awesome!! The Coral Reef is a great restaurant. Last time we ate there, there were divers in the tank that kept interacting with everyone. It was so much fun for my kids.

Back in the 90's when my family went to WDW for our parent's anniversary, they didn't do the buttons thing. But while on the bus that took us to our resort, the driver was chatting with us since it was later and no one else was using it. My father casually mentioned that we were there for their anniversary. We got into our rooms no more than ten minutes later to find a cake waiting for us. Amazing how quickly that bus driver had to move on that information to make it happen! One more part of Disney magic!

When I was in Disney I over heard a girl asking a crew member why there was a wire coming out of the castle. He responded saying “You see, Prince Charming likes ESPN and the only way he can get it is by that cable.” I love this conversation bc it shows how caring the people at Disney are. ALWAYS let Disney know you're celebrating! If you're staying at a WDW, let them know when you book. One of my favorite memories was spending my birthday at WDW and they had a birthday card waiting in the room that was signed by the classic characters, there was a voicemail from Mickey and Minnie singing Happy Birthday to me, some of the chefs at our dinner reservations had made a gorgeous "Happy Birthday" plating displays in chocolate, and EVERY SINGLE cast member that saw the button made sure to say Happy Birthday! They definitely know how to make you feel super special!

    • @piperlee4213
      @piperlee4213 6 лет назад +6

MikkiLove21 yep! I went to Disney in LA for my 8th birthday. I’m Australian btw so we travelled half way across the world to get there.
That night we ate at the jungle cafe and after our meals, the chefs brought out a chocolate lava cake.
This year it’ll be ten years since then and it’s always amazing to hear similar stories and constant efforts made by the Disney cast members.
Disney cast members are truly amazing

Their reactions when we opened the hotel door and saw their cake with their names and a message saying “20 ears” (instead of 20 years) was priceless and it is one of my favorite memories

I went to Disney World over the summer to celebrate my college graduation and I had a celebration button on. A cast member noticed, talking with my while I was in line to meet sleeping beauty and francs, and then made sure that my mom and I got to walk with sleeping beauty when she was done her meet and greet. It was so special and magical and I wish that I had known about the compliments account them because he made one of the highlights of our trip happen.

  • @CosplayCore

I make my own Disney button pins to wear to the parks... Last summer, we went to WDW to celebrate my first college graduation and to say goodbye to a few known attractions that I grew up on (tears were shed) and I'm a big fan of Figment from EPCOT, so I designed my own button pin to wear to EPCOT that celebrated my graduation by featuring Figment with a mouse-eared cap and a little diploma in claw while saying "Electron beam and crystal prisms! I DID IT!". At the entrance into EPCOT, I was stopped by a CM just so she could ask where I got my button! XD When I told her I drew it myself, she told me how much she liked it and it made me WAY more happy than if I had gotten a FastPass...

I Love doing the "Penny Quest" There are penny machines everywhere that you can get pressed as different characters, but what some people may not know is that you can go to any park (also disney spring) customer service location and they can give you a list of ALL the penny locations so you can hunt for all of them. Bring some shiny pennies!

We got the pressed penny album at our first stop and it had a map, was a great activity and keepsake for my young niece. It adds up quickly as each machine has several penny styles, but I guess everything at WDW adds up we are just frugal. I think she just about filled the small album but had loads that we didn't get. So many machines were buried in stores it was too bad we spent more time searching through stores then we would have otherwise. I know thats to temp you to buy other things but we didnt. Still, fun.

I have done the Dive Quest thing a couple of times. It is so much fun. You become part of the Disney Cast for a short period of time. I like spying on the people eating dinner. The kids love watching the divers. Disney supplies all the equipment including mask, fins and snorkel. This is defiantly worth it if you’re a certified diver.

I watched one of your videos before I went on my vacation last week and it talked about Christopher Robin's room that's no longer in use as a meet and greet spot. My sister and I love Winnie the Pooh so we headed straight to Epcot's London to find it. We were trying to see inside (it's a bit hard for my sister since she's in a wheelchair) and a cast member came over and let us go inside! It was magical and we have you to thank for the experience since we had no idea it existed. Thank you so much for your informative videos!

We went on our only Disney trip 12 years ago as part of a dance competition my them 8 year old daughter was in. We had 1 day to explore the parks, so we spent half a day at The Magic Kingdom and half at Epcot. The two moments I will NEVER forget was her meeting Mickey (beyond special treatment) and walking into Christopher Robin’s room where we met Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Rabbit, Piglet, and Owl. And as thrilled as my daughter was, I was the one sobbing. Pooh has been my best friend and confidante since I was 2. I have a world of Pooh things. And when my mom passed when I was 23, she quoted Pooh to me. Yeah, that room, that moment, pure magic.

New comment on an old video, I know, but the "I'm celebrating!" buttons brought back a great memory. In 2011 I was on my high school's senior trip, and we were at Epcot. We had on these (ugly) matching shirts, and I guess a cast member took notice as we were in line for Test Track. She started chatting with us, and we casually mentioned we were on our senior trip. She got excited and ran off. I kind of thought that'd be the last we'd see of her, since we were in a ride line. But that line was very long, and she came back and found us and handed me and my three friends each an "I'm celebrating!" button! Thank you, cast member. I'll never forget your little act of Disney magic.

The buttons are so much fun. I have a ton of custom Disney buttons that I wear on my trips and cast members love them; it gives them a little glimpse into some of your favorite things about Disney.
I even had buttons made for myself and my boyfriend when I graduated college. Mine said, "I graduated!" his said, "I helped!" Cast members noticed them all the time and gave us lots of fun stuff. We got cupcakes, slushies, free souvenir mugs when we ordered drinks. They went above and beyond for us just because of some buttons.

Can I just say, I have done the scuba diving and it is the best thing. You get to have a look backstage, learn some marine knowledge, take a look at Disney’s care for marine animals and more. You get to see so so many species of fish in one place...just the best. Visibility is pretty sweet too. You can wave to your friends, family and the public! It is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at Walt Disney World and if you had the licence to Scuba Dice and going to Walt Disney World, I say do it! You won’t regret it!

I remember when my family went to Disney World a few years ago. It was my moms birthday and she loved Mary Poppins. She had on the pin and we were waiting for one of the parades to start on Main Street. She was talking to us about how much she wanted to see MP. The parade started and we MP across the street. She actually passed by us on the opposite side. A minute later, we saw her walking back to us. She walked right up to my mom and gave her a hug. In the middle of the parade! Just a little Disney Magic there.

The Scuba Diving experience is one of the greatest things i've ever done. The friendly exploration around backstage Epcot also feels like forbidden fun. They even set up and handle all of the equipment for you? Though that might be an American difference when it comes to scuba-diving though. Still, pretty luxurious. The underwater photographer makes a film of the experience and everything.

You also can take music classes (possibly). I hope they are still offered. My orchestra did this in high school. We worked with a Disney orchestra conductor and we learned how they play music to sync with the movie. They actually watch the movie while playing so the musicians know when to play louder or softer. We learned how to play the "Beauty and the Beast" namesake song, the ballroom scene. So fun!

My daughter and I returned from WDW last week (two days before this video was posted). I did know of some of these things before we went, and we took advantage of several, including the free water. We were asking an older gentleman cast member who was working at Hollywood & Vine Restaurant to direct us to the nearest quick service restaurant, as we thought that's where we could get it. He said "I can get you some water," at which point he went inside and got both of us a big cup of ice water WITH ice, a straw, and a top. So sweet! Then he invited us to sit on their shaded benches (it was very early, around 11:00 a.m., so it wasn't crowded at all). I tried to tip him but he wouldn't take it. Also, one thing not mentioned in this video but maybe in another one - the Highway In the Sky Dine Around. It was wonderful! Like some of the others, a bit pricey, but worth it. In another video you mentioned that adults can order off the children's menu, and we did that a few times (no dining plan - just doesn't work for us). The portions were perfect!

I made an appointment for my son's first haircut about 2 months in advance ($25 for hair cut, tons of stickers, Mickey Ear Hat embroidered with "My 1st Haircut", a certificate, and a little bag of baby curls- it was so beyond worth it!). Several people were turned away while we were there due to being completely booked.

The night before my husband and I got married (we got married at Disney) we were staying at Port Orleans and just walking around at midnight. A woman who was driving the horse drawn carriage actually stopped and asked if we wanted a ride back to our hotel room. She said she was done for the night and it was on her way. When we asked her how much we should pay her or tip her, she absolutely refused to let us. She said she did it every night for lucky late night wanderers. It was so magical!

When we went for our honeymoon we got the little buttons saying we were just married and we got some fast pass lines for rides where the lines weren't long. This was when you had to go to the ride to print out a fast pass. Also the funniest was at Universal I had the button on my bag strap and they even gave us so priority seating and things as well. It was very neat, I didn't expect any of it.
