The LOST Concerto for Cello and string orchestra with piano and percussion features music from the television show LOST by Michael Giacchino, arranged by Joshua Thompson. The 5 sections of the Concerto are Main Theme, Hurley's Theme, Ocean's Apart, The Hole Shabang and Moving On.
At the time of the recording, Brian Zhao, the cello soloist, was a senior in high school. With the exception of the guest percussionist, the string orchestra was the Shepton Chamber Orchestra from Shepton High School in Plano, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. Shepton High School is a campus of 9th and 10th graders. The Shepton High School Orchestra program features 160 string players in 4 performing ensembles.

11:10
See you in another life brotha
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this in a WAV file format? I love the visual, but would love the music to carry with me on my hand held unit as well. Thanks for any input. dlg
Most of those views are mine.
LOL I love everything about this piece. You should all be extremely proud.
Has Michael Giacchino seen this?
How long did it take to write the arrangement? I have always wondered.
Also how long was it rehearsed before being played in concert?
Thankyou for it.
Just came back watch this and saw your questions (I'm at a different school now so am using my personal RUclips ID as the old one went to the new director). I tagged Giacchino on Twitter when I first posted it but don't know if he ever saw it and couldn't find a way to direct message him. I remember starting the arrangement in May and finishing it just as school started in late August. The biggest challenge was getting the tonal centers to work going from The Hole Shabang to Moving On at the end, which I solved by adding the Parting Words theme in a different key and using the melody line as the means of the key change. We rehearsed the string orchestra about 6 weeks and rehearsed with the soloist 2-3 times. Glad you enjoyed it - I've always been proud of this performance.
@@jtlivin Just watched again and keep thinking about the job these kids could have done with the music from "Out Of Africa". With your talent, I am sure you could have come up with another beautiful concerto. Do you still have a talented group at your disposal?
Jack putting the cork back at 7:50 lol
The maestro looks like Jacob :)
What's the name of the first song?
shepton orchestra is in texas or shangai???
حرفيا التناغم 100
this has to be some sort of special music focus high school, right? High school orchestras arent supposed to sound so good!
I don't know, Google says it's just grades 9 and 10, it's part of an independent school system in Plano, Texas. I'm a little confused, I thought these were kids in a fine arts university. 😂They obviously have a hell of a fine arts program.
Well done. How often do you perform? I am in Dallas often on business and would love to hear this school in person.
We perform 4-5 times per year. We'd love to have you at a future concert!
Great. Thanks! I will ' look you up' next time I am in town!
Drummer was the star player lol
7 years and 50k watches only!
This is a joke🤷♂️
arranged by Joshua Thompson -- это заметно, а то совсем фигня была. А так просто не складушки не ладушки...
