    How should the Eagles handle their QB situation?

      First Things First: Cris Carter and Nick Wright. Trade him for a 1st rnd or keep him.

    • @SuccessMMA
      @SuccessMMA 6 лет назад +4

      They don't do anything, Nick Foles did his job. The Eagles should keep him around in case Wentz has a set back. There is no guarantee if they trade him for a draft pick that the pick won't be a bust.

    • @gios32
      @gios32 6 лет назад +6

      Let Foles decide his future. He deserves that much. I'd hope they wouldn't trade him without Foles' consent. I'd be just as happy keeping him on the roster and retiring him an Eagle when he is ready.

      They should just ask Nick Foles what he wants to do. If he wants to start somewhere, send him to a QB needy team that isn't Cleveland. If he wants to stay in Philly, keep him. He's earned the right to decide his own future

      Not quite... could Carson Wentz win a super bowl? We will never know. Can Nick Foles win a Super Bowl? We know that answer.
      Loyalty has no place in the game of football. It’s all business. If your technique got you to the Super Bowl, then why would you change it?
      Just like Prescott. Romo is clearly far better than Dak. But why change your QBs when you are having success?

    • @robbiemcgill9354
      @robbiemcgill9354 6 лет назад +1

      Christopher Trevino but who is the better qb? Wentz. He was having a mvp season. He can can do far more than Foles. Foles is a system player. They had to change their play calling for Foles to succeed. I do get that we have evidence of winning the Superbowl, but he came in after we secured a spot in the playoffs. It may have been different if Foles started the season.

    Why are we even talking about this. They were talking about Nick Foles before the playoffs as if he was complete garbage and he would go one and done. Now that he won he’s better than Wentz. NO!!!! That’s not how it works Wentz is way better and the future. There’s no controversy and Wentz will be the starter for the next 15 years

    • @DigitalHaze65536
      @DigitalHaze65536 6 лет назад +1

      Yeah that was lame. It's almost (obviously not on that scale......) like Montana and Young with the Niners over 20 years ago. You have an older guy with a lesser arm.....but has proven he can get it done in the big game. But then LOOK at Steve Young, holy carp what an arm (and accurate). Why would you NOT want to have both on your team if you could swing it? Plus Foles isn't causing problems looking for playtime like with Young back in the day. (Montana got traded for his last two seasons)

  • @Helthurian
    @Helthurian 6 лет назад +4

    Cris Carter spoke the truth and it's crazy people are making this a QB controversy. There''s no controversy. Foles knew his role, stepped up and played really well in his role -- and will step down once that role is 100% fulfilled. He's the backup and the best backup in the league. Foles would have struggled at numerous points in the season, especially when our O-Line was awful. Foles excelled because the O-Line play was fantastic. Once Wentz is ready, Foles will return to his mentorship/backup role. With Foles as a backup, that ensures Wentz doesn't have to fear for his health every snap. He knows that there's a Superbowl MVP behind him, ready to step in at a moments notice. #FlyEaglesFly

  • @sajid1891
    @sajid1891 6 лет назад +12

    Doesn't make sense or tells the entire story. Foles went 1-5 his rookie year and then went 8-2 in 2013 then 6-2 in 2014. In 2017, Foles went 5-1 including the SB and the pointless loss against the Cowboys.
    On the other side you have Carson Wentz. He went 7-9 as a starter his rookie year and I think was 16 TDs to 14 INTs. In my opinion for both players rookie season is getting a feel of the league and everything. Wentz started out 3-0 and the chemistry went downhill for the offense after Lane Johnson was out.
    Both are winning QBs and are in the perfect system. I find Wentz as a future elite QB and I think Foles can be a good starter in the lg like Stafford, Cousins, Flacco, Ryan, etc. But aside from all them I can tell you when he has a coach that understands the spread offense like Pederson and Chip.....he will definitely succeed.
    I think Foles can ball. Having said that, I would not trade Foles for anything. I would keep him on my eagles and go from there.
    GO EAGLES!

  • @Ocean5ix
    @Ocean5ix 6 лет назад +2

    Let me put it this way so that people can understand. Carson "is like" Foles but with more football IQ, defense reading, arm, elusiveness, athleticism and in my opinion leadership.
    Maybe some of you only seen our games in the post season but Wentz actually played better than Foles (vs Vikings, vs Patriots) in a lot of the games. A lot of drives, scoring plays, big gains and opportunities only happened BECAUSE of what Wentz brings to the table. He has EVERYTHING Foles have to offer AND MORE.

    • @tite732
      @tite732 6 лет назад +1

      Victor Vasconcellos Foles is more accurate. Carson is the better Qb though. I wanted Wentz to work on his deep ball this offseason but that won’t happen due to his injury.

    • @Ocean5ix
      @Ocean5ix 6 лет назад +1

      The first 5 games of the season he was being inaccurate but from that moment on he was on point.
      I see you're a fellow Eagles fan and i'm also sure you remember all the analysis on Foles posted on BGN in 2014. We always knew Foles had potential but we also know how he looks when he plays bad. He can't read defenses, can't find open receivers, he wasn't athletic at all (this year he has been MUCH improved in this aspect) and he also has accuracy problems.
      If this "controversy" was about any other QB that's not Wentz, Rodgers, Wilson or Brady i'd be 100% in for starting him.
      As much as i love Foles, as much as i think he deserves a statue in Philly i don't think he has IT. He's talented and a great player but do people know what "IT" is? IT is when you're greater than anything that can happen to you on the field, it's being a huge leader and giving 110% when nothing is working. Tim Tebow had it, but he didn't had talent nor the skills to move on but Carson does. I've seen enough from Carson to know that when everything fails he is a weapon himself. He can win it by himself as he already did so many times.

    • @tite732
      @tite732 6 лет назад +1

    I agree 100% don't trade him Wentz is not even healthy at this moment , plus Eagles can go on a run. Need to make sure their have insurance. Foles still has a future can play for 4-5 great years maybe more . The jets need wide receivers running back , need help on the defense Also if a team wants Foles . If any team get Foles he's the Franchise face. Most likely he's not getting traded.

    As an Eagles fan who really takes time to look inside the team and the press conferences and interviews throughout the season let me say this in specific context to this video and talk lately about this "QB situation" or "controversy." Let me start off by saying this is all just hilarious to me as an Eagles fan as I said lol. I can confidently say I'm 99.99999999% sure Foles himself is perfectly fine and MORE than happy to serve as the backup QB for the Eagles. I'm almost just as sure Doug Pederson and the entire team feels the exact same way. You've (or at least I) can see this by what Foles has said himself when he's talked to the media time and time again since Wentz went down up until present. He states plenty of times that he fully acknowledges that Wentz IS the future and franchise QB of this team. Pederson has also stated the same stance on Wentz plenty of times as he IS the team's future at QB and how Foles is the next man up, I mean that's why they got him back in the first place. There really is no "controversy" or "situation." Now to answer how I think they should handle the "QB situation" is easy and basically seems solved already. I can see Wentz as the definte starter, absolutely no question there at all. And I can see Foles simply staying with the team serving as not only as a backup, but a vet-like mentor for the team for at least another year or very likely an extension of up to 2 or 3 depending on how long he decides his career in football to last (which this SB win definitely extended that wanting to stay in the league much longer and more notably WITHIN Philly). So there ya have it, not much of a situation at all, everyone seems to be in the perfect spot they wish to be in among this really happy team.
    The real question is among the free agents/one year contract players, so many good players. Who stays who goes? Should be an interesting off-season.

    I don't know any Eagles fan pulling for Nick to be our starter over a healthy Wentz, maybe a recovering one, but not a healthy one.
    And Wright talking about giving away Carson for a round of first round picks sounds stupid. Foles, I'm sorry...looks like we have seen his ceiling, that last game looks like his maximum potential. Meanwhile Carson just started his career and looks awesome! I don't think Carson is at his full potential. So why would we trade a player who has the possibility to improve some more next year for Foles? In 5 years I could see Carson being an Elite QB.

    Really trying to start a controversy. Very simple. Carson is the man moving forward and Nick has proven that he is a very capable qb and he will get a well well deserved raise. If Carson is not ready by camp then we can start Nick to start the year. And if we do trade Nick we can add depth to the O and D Line. Fly Eagles Fly baby 🦅🏆 SB52 Champs. Foles should play all of 2018 and let Wentz heal 100%. His torn ACL/LCL is a 9-12 month injury. It happened in December, so it won’t even be nine months until a few more days. If Wentz is truly the future, they need to make sure he’s healthy. Will this happen? No, but it should.

      @bobbymira8234 6 лет назад

      Key key, I dont think so dude. No one in the NFL is ok with being a backup. Esp a good qb like Foles. The reason he wanted to retire is because Philly was stupid to trade him in 2015 and Jeff Fisher is an idiot coach who knows nothing, and bascially ruined Fole's career, then he went to KC to be a back up to Alex Smith, who is a quality QB, so that meant no starts for Foles in KC, now with Wentz, same deal, so I'm pretty sure he wants to be "the guy" on a team somewhere...

    It would be great IF the Eagles could keep Foles. However, Foles will likely be free agent in 2019. Eagles can keep him in 2018, but will lose him next year no matter what, so trading him might make the most sense right now.

  • @flyersboy01

    nick foles is obviously a back up but he has a lot of value so I don’t know if we should trade him. the problem is not know the recovery time of wentz n how healthy he is going to be. if he needs to miss some time then we should keep foles. if carson’s completely healthy then what we could do potentially (and this is just hypothetical) is trade foles to the browns for the #4 pick, draft saquon barkley, trade ajayi and blount for two draft picks, draft a back up and use the other for whatever. clement is a great rb2 in my opinion and we could get a lot for ajayi and blount also in my opinion. thoughts?

    I'm with CC .. don't change the winning system. You have a franchise QB in Wentz and a franchise backup QB in Foles they both still under contract. I would renew both they contracts and give them the money they want even if Foles agrees to be on the bench. Athletes with ACL and LCL injuries have a 1 in 4 rate of a reoccurring injury. You know Foles can win you a championship and you have great faith Wentz can too. Keep your ace in the hole and go on championship run for a couple years. Even if you don't win anymore you still have Foles on the bench and in your negotiations you always can say "we want everything you got for Foles.. remember he won a championship in 2018"

I would love to keep Foles as a back up as long as he is ok with that roll, but if he wants to spread his wings and start else where, he earned that right and I would trade him, if and only if that’s what he wants.
